Yuki Tokutomi: Sandblasted Tomato with Bamboo Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-477-0021

"Balanced asymmetry," an artistic approach to pipe design that tweaks lines and mass to produce a shape that features a distinctive contrast between one half of the pipe an the other while also still creating a form that is graceful and natural, was one of the unique things about Hiroyuki Tokutomi's pipemaking that led to his highly respected status as an artisan. The apple, or in this case, Tomato, doesn't seem to have fallen far from the tree here, as Yuki Tokutomi presents us with a charmingly organic, artful little number very much reminiscent of her father's signature approach.
