Yuwei: Smooth Tomato with Spalted Maple Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-842-0031
A smooth Tomato with a lifting heel and forward-urging bowl, this well-rounded piece from Yuwei Huang features a long shank extension of spalted maple, striated with black streaks and providing visual contrast against both the stummel and stem. The contrast stain well differentiates the individual tendrils of grain rising up the plump bowl, which maintains an impression of rounded independence in relation to the maple shank extension. A single expansion ring on the mouthpiece helps provide further independence of elements by ably terminating the shank end at the connection. Low-set and dynamic, this composition offers a relatively simple form elevated by the deft use of natural elements combining for a pipe of unique personality.- Chuck Stanion
