Warped - The Red Hunt 2oz
High quality VaPer + Spice!!
So stoked when I received this blend in the mail yesterday that I had to smoke a bowl last night. Upon opening the tin, notes of dried fruits immediately wafted through the air in a pleasant, yet not overpowering, way. Reminiscent of Levi Garrett with raisins and fig... The moisture level was perfect, no drying time needed before packing my pipe. The flakes are broken but not too broken, and folds nicely before packing. Could not detect grassy/hay until 1/3, but oh the smell of baked goods consumed my porch. This is a wonderful blend for springtime and summer nights. However, I'd smoke this year round. The Red Hunt is Luxury Twist Flakes' sophisticated cousin that should become more complex with age. Well done Kyle and Jeremy! I dare say this is my new favorite when I thought Sun Bear couldn't be beat!
Hearth & Home - Heart of Darkness 1.75oz
Joseph Conrad would be proud!!!
I bought purely because it is the name of my favorite book! From tin note to room note, the latakia brings that nice level of smoky without being overbearing. As strong as this blend is, it is still smooth. The only con is that it is ribbon and not a flake, yet it is still worth all five stars! Perfect for that outdoor, back porch quiet time at the end of the day!
Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Night 2oz
Definitely lives up to its name
This is a blend for those backyard campfire nights, or late night fishing on your jon boat. Full and bold, the latakia is very forward and the perique just takes that mesquite-ness to the next level. Very savory!!
Peter Stokkebye - PS403 Luxury Bullseye Flake
Go-To Bulk Flake
I loved Luxury Twist Flake so much that I had to see what this was about! After the first puff, I knew I found my go-to flake. When I can't decide what to smoke, I smoke Luxury Bullseye Flake. I have found it to be forgiving and remain smooth when smoked hot. This one is an all day sipper, especially when I am tending to my BBQ smoker. I love the hits of cavendish throughout the bowl when the flake is rubbed out and not folded. When I am in a hurry, I fold the flake and get a slightly different experience on the palette, yet still consistent.
