Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Night 2oz
I don't buy the hype
I never thought I'd use the term, "fecl overtones," with a pipe tobacco, but here we are. No, it's not the Perique - I like it in other blends. Not the Latakia, I've smoked everything from 759 to beyond. And it's not the N that turns me off, I love the Lakeland ropes. I think I just don't get along with CnD blends. Back in the 90's when Craig Tarler was running it, he had something called, "Hoover blend," which was basically the table sweepings he collected off his blending surface. Every few years I try another CnD tobacco and get a sense of Hoover Blend. Having said that, I also got a tin of Bayou AM which is smokeable. This one is just... well, fecal.

Pleasant Surprise
Tried on a whim - I've been smoking old stock Esoterica mostly since the late 90's but this has a great, simple nutty flavor. Easy to smoke and just the right nicotine for me. Thinking of buying some bulk in case it goes the way of Esoterica
