Cornell & Diehl - Palmetto Balkan 8oz
Best Balkan since...
I personally prefer balkans over traditional English styles. This one is perfect for someone who enjoys Oriental based blends, with a Latikia that's not so domineering it takes over the whole bowl. I enjoy whatever the special process was C&D put into treating this particular latakia. I'm very happy for it's return. It smokes a little more like a dry Cabernet, I'm not talking moisture content I'm talking about mouthfeel. Most English blends have kind of a thick sweet syrupy taste because of the heavy cyprian Latakia and Virginia. This is a nice change of pace, with a lot more subtlety and nuance the more you smoke it, the more you notice

Spectacular
This is a really well made vapor and it's one of my all-time favorites so I buy at least five tens every year it's come out
Drucquer & Sons - Blairgowrie 100g
Well blended
This one could be somebody's favorite. In terms of how well it's Blended I'd say craftsmanship is 5 out of 5 stars. I only gave it four and a half because it's not my preferred style of blend. Could almost be considered a va/per based on flavor. Dominantly favors the grassy notes of a Virginia, while the perique and latakia play supporting roles fairly even handedly but neither are flavor dominant. Always present but enjoyably mild. I personally prefer my English and balkans to be more Oriental forward, but it's definitely the least dominant part of this blend. Still I think it is incredibly well crafted

Another favorite
Again not a traditional vaper. But the addition of the dark fired elevates this one into the top tier of my shelf. I only critique is it does need at least a year to age before you pop the tin. When it's young it tends to be a little bit bity but if it's had at least a year to age before you open it up it becomes much more well-mannered
Captain Earle's - Honor Blend 2oz
One of my favorite smokes
Not technically a Va/Per due to the additional oriental, but this blend gets full marks for me. My preference in tobacco leans heavy into Va/Per and Virginias. The Perique is sutble enough it isn't trying to drive the bus, but always a present supportive flavor. The virginia used is mellow but adds sweetness and plays a 50/50 harmony with the oriental. Throughout a bowl the balance between the two are splendid. Tip of the hat to the blender who created it. As for the nic hit others refer to, I've never had a problem and would discribe it as medium

Mild and pleasant
A mild all day smoke. I’ll likely smoke it spring through early autumn. The Virginias come through strongest. Light grassy, mild floral sweetness. The orientals add a nice supporting bouquet. Moisture is on the slightly dry side. Definitely good to go right out of the tin without any need to let it sit before packing. Probably best enjoyed by smokers who like straight Virginias. I’m looking forward to seeing how my other tins age over the next few years

Bland
Purchased this one based on the high review rating and then I'm a big fan of VA/per blends. But the only word I can use to describe this is Bland. You can definitely taste the perique but that's the only flavor it's got and it's kind of watered down
