Cornell & Diehl - Nutty Irishman 2oz
Very nice
I’m very surprised by the topping. It’s not goopy at all, especially given how pronounced the flavor is. The tobacco smokes very well. The flavor of the topping is superb, I would like it to be even nuttier.

It’s literally a mason jar lid on a piece of plastic. It works and is very handy but I do think it’s a bit overpriced.

Wow!
Very interesting smoke. The Latakia is very strong in the tin note but doesn’t roll you over when you smoke it. Great balance. Wow, I just wasn’t expecting that.

Sutliff - Sutliff 1849 1.5oz
After 2 years, still awesome.
The perique is nice and strong when you first open it. I’ve had this tin for a couple of years now to see how the flavor profile changes on an old opened tin. Still tastes great, the perique has mellowed a bit. Not quite as funky as when it was first opened. This is just a stellar blend at a ridiculous price.

That’s a winner
Very nice! Extremely balanced. I can see myself getting drunk on egg nog and smoking this all night. Delicious but not overwhelming.

Half and Half - Half and Half 1.5oz

This ain’t it. There is no reason. There are inexpensive American blends many times better than this. You can taste the tobacco? No friend. It’s like trying to burn soap. You can’t begin to taste the tobacco because it’s completely masked. I get it. I like trying all the old school brands for codgers’ sake. But this is the worst one I’ve tried yet. The worst part is how bad it ghosted my pipe. It took a week to run it clean. There are some really nice takes on the classic American blend out there using quality tobacco at a decent price. Brigadier black (a Sutliff company) has one Sherman’s march I think is the name. American delite by g&h is really a really nice American OTC flavor on a quality blend of tobacco. But man, If you want to taste the tobacco then don’t get an American otc. I mean get some Sutliff 1849 or something. That’s some no BS tobacco. The only flavoring is the perique tobacco. Wonderful american brand non otc real tobacco flavor blend. I don’t smoke to make grandpa proud, I don’t smoke for an image. I smoke in my garage all by myself for my own enjoyment and I don’t care if I look or smell sexy. If that’s you too and you disagree with me then two thumbs up to you my friend.

Mac Baren - 7 Seas Royal 3.5oz
Right behind 7Cs regular
Another one of my go to smokes. Not my favorite but right up there. Another one I can sit and smoke for 30+ minutes without getting burnt out on it.

Mac Baren - 7 Seas Regular 3.5oz
My all around favorite (with a pinch of black)
This with a pinch of 7 seas black mixed in is my favorite smoke. I usually smoke a few different blends throughout the day and then hit this last. The pinch of 7 seas black, to me, helps bring out more of the flavor of the 7 seas regular. If you put too much black in then it loses the effect.

Captain Black - Dark 1.5oz
Love black cavendish
So as much as I love black cavendish, I don’t smoke this blend on its own much. More often, i stick a little of this in other blends just to get some of that taste in it. Doesn’t take a lot.

Mac Baren - 7 Seas Black 3.5oz
Great with 7 seas regular
Love this blend but I don’t usually smoke it straight. I usually put a pinch of this in with other blends. A pinch of this seems to bring out the flavor of what you are blending it with.

Mac Baren - Original Choice 3.5oz
Nice but not for me
I had high hopes for this one. It’s a fine smoke but was just bland for my taste. But you know, I could come back to it and see it in a whole new light later on.

Sutliff - Eastfarthing 1.5oz
Surprised
I didn’t think I would like this because Latakia turns me off for reason (unfortunately). I was really surprised though. It’s a very pleasant smoke. The light Molto dolce flavor lessens as the Latakia comes up towards the end. I hope this will break me in to other Latakia blends.

Sutliff - Molto Dolce 1.5oz
Delicious but messy.
Tastes great, burns cool. Don’t bother trying to dry it because it’s too oily. It will make a mess in your tray or your pouch. I still like it but it’s messy.

Filters & Adaptors - Savinelli 6mm Balsa Filters (20 Pack)
Does the job
This is the filter for filter haters. Doesn’t rob the flavor of the tobacco. Obviously it won’t filter as well as charcoal but charcoal ruins the taste. Balsa is a nice compromise. You don’t have to change them out after every bowl but they will eventually smell terrible and be soaked no longer serving a purpose. I change mine every 2-3 bowls. I just smell it before I load it. If it stinks, I change it.
