Tobacco Jars - PocketJar Smokingpipes.com Black
They hold up
Been using these daily for over a year, I work an ambulance and take a pipe kit in my bag for the rare occasion I have down time these have held up great and keep my tobacco fresh for weeks if I don’t have time to break into them , they get bashed around quite often and have held up great, will definitely buy more
Captain Earle's - Nightwatch 2oz
A miss for me
Maybe I’m not sophisticated enough for this one but the initial 1/8 of the bowl was pleasant and enjoyable but was quickly followed by the taste of burnt wet newspaper , almost like a roll your own with copy paper , unfortunately not for me
Seattle Pipe Club - Hogshead 4oz
Love this
Aged Virginia tobacco , sweet mild , solid cake rubs out easy , got bit so had to adjust accordingly but a good straight Virginia tobacco , give it a shot
Newminster - No.400 Superior Navy Flake
Idk what this smells like
But it’s amazing , you’re not whiffing a bowl of oranges with this one it’s a sweet desert like smoke that packs well and burns good , tons of flavor for a straight Virginia and if you like yours on the sweeter side definitely pick this one up , and I have to say 10/10 for smokingpipes packaging on this one , sounds dumb but I don’t like getting bone dry bulk flake tobacco in the mail , give it a shot you won’t be disappointed
Peter Stokkebye - PS400 Luxury Navy Flake
Just pull the trigger
If you’re looking for a VaPer flake and haven’t tried this one yet just do it , my tastes and what flavors I pick up change over time but this one is as consistent as it gets for me , if you’re a fan of OGS this one should be on your radar
Peterson - Irish Flake 50g
Solid burley flake
I feel you can’t go wrong with this one if you’re looking for a great burley and DFK tobacco , has a lot of flavor , I guess if you don’t smoke a lot I can see it being a little on the stronger side , but if you’ve had a stressful day and need that punch reach for this one
G. L. Pease - Bankside 2oz
Give it a shot
The tin description is a little weird but if you like a good Smokey Latakia blend and need a break from your same old stuff the DFK really gives this one a very pleasant twist burns even and cool and the signature busted flake rubs out evenly , will definitely buy this again
Cornell & Diehl - Pirate Kake 2oz
I bought a pound
If you like a good punch in the face of Latakia and burley this is your jam , I burned through a 2oz tin in under a week , give it a shot there is a reason they offer it by the pound
G. L. Pease - Maltese Falcon 2oz
Not for me I think
Not a bad English blend , but very very mild for my taste , a good blend for those who are interested in breaking into the English side of things
G. L. Pease - Fillmore 2oz
That tin note
Popped the tin and took a nose full of rotten garbage , checked for mold and none to be found , this blend absolutely needs to air out a bit but the flavor is great , I’ll be keeping this one stocked , definitely give it a try if you’re a fan of bayou morning flake, another solid blend from pease
Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Morning Flake 2oz
I keep this in stock
I always have this on hand , spicy and smooth with a good burn and Virginia flavor , don’t let the amount of perique turn you away
Former - Cross Grain Flake 50g
Probably my favorite of the formers
This is the sweeter blend and not as spicy ,similar bready flavor with a smoother spice than the straight grain give it a try if you’re into VaPr blends I don’t think you’ll be disappointed
Former - Straight Grain Flake 50g
Great blend
This a great blend of you like VaPr blends I recommend this to all my friends , sweet bready with just a little spice but smooth , I smoked through my first tin of this almost too quickly , give it a shot if you can get your hands on it I don’t think you’ll be disappointed
Cornell & Diehl - Miskatonic Mixture 2oz
Happy I took the time
I’m 2 bowls deep and am already a huge fan of this , I will be stocking up on this along side the mad fiddler flake , lots of smoke almost chewy coats the mouth. Tin note immediately brought chocolate to mind , slightly sweet with raisin notes. Cut is excellent this like haunted bookshop required no relights as long as you’re paying attention. If you’re curious about the series this is definitely a recommendation I’d forward to anyone.
Cornell & Diehl - Mad Fiddler Flake 2oz
One of my new favorites
They got me with the lovecraft theme I did not expect this to be as good as it is . Fresh out the tin I get cinnamon raisin bread , the first half of the bowl is smooth and flavorful and a bit spicy with a sweetness that mellows throughout the bowl but remains , the smoke is thick and almost chewy, it won’t bite. It’s a little moist out of the tin as a broken flake but burns well without any dry time. I have stocked up since my initial purchase at the LVIPS. If you like sweeter smooth tobacco that you can take your time with this is definitely a 10/10 for me . And my favorite of the series.
Starter Kits - Three Pipe Kit
Wow
I ordered these to have a few pipes that if broke whilst out and about I would not be heart broken , they 100% fill that slot , as I opened the box I was curious to see what had arrived , they seem to be bowls that have defects that were sanded down into a useable shape then fitted with a mouth piece , the pipes I received made the pictured ones look like a thing of beauty , first pipe was a hand grenades worth of briar sandblasted and then charred beyond recognition and the mouth piece bent under the same flame , second pipe reminded me of an ugly girlfriend in high school , fun in private but embarrassing out in public , third pipe looked as though it had cannonballed into a cold pool and promptly realized it lost its trunks on the way out , these are definitely what you think they are BUT they smoke good , so if you need a few more for knock around purposes definitely give these a try
