G. L. Pease - Quiet Nights 8oz
Embarrassing
As embarrassing as it is, me and Quiet Nights have taken almost two years to understand each other. Part of it has been because i tried to enjoy it while being very new to pipe smoking and because i didn't have the right pipe. One of my favorite things in the world is sitting next to a camp fire. And that is why I have fallen in love with pipe smoking. It is like learning to start and stoke a mini campfire and many things can alter your experience, the type of fuel you’re burning, the weather, and the fire pit. Until today, i have been too rough with packing my pipe. I have gotten too used to stuffing a ribbon and stamping it down and lighting it rough with no problems. Quiet Nights demands discipline and patience. No stamping, only gravity fill. But when packed right, you can puff like a train without a bite, and you better have some time because it ain't going out for a while. While it still isn’t a favorite blend for me, it is one of my most respected blends. Quiet Nights has truly helped me become a better pipe smoker. Thank you Mr. Pease!

Cornell & Diehl - Yorktown
Got creative
When I got a few ounces of this last year. I didn’t know what I was getting into. I realized I was in fact not a virginia purist. This blend seemed bland, dry, and boring. So I left it in a jar and continued my journey. Now, after almost a year my pallet has developed to love dryer blends like haunted bookshop and virginia cream. I recently acquired my dream 320 ks and want to use it as an aromatic smoker. To break it in, I decided to mix this blend 50/50 with boswell’s rasberry cream and now I am in love. This blend added the strength and diversity that the raspberry cream was lacking. If this blend isn’t hitting the mark for you on its own, I highly recommend mixing with an aromatic.

Cornell & Diehl - Bijou 2oz
Surprising
I bought 2 tins of this almost a year ago. One to try right away for experimental purposes, and the other to age as it’s intended to be. I opened the first tin, packed a bowl and jarred the rest. That first bowl (at least for me) was SPICY boy! Man oh man I realized why it needed to be aged. I came back only 6 months later and WOW. The spiciness went down tremendously and the orientals were already shining through. Floral and raisin sweetness with the perfect hint of spice. I now come back to it every few weeks and it has become one of my favorites. Every bowl is better than the last. Also super easy to break and pack and it stays lit very nicely. Super excited to see what serious age does to it. Highly recommend.

Warped - Saint Espresso 2oz
Holy grail
I hope this becomes readily available. This is a holy grail of aromatic blends. Fantastic flavor, as in mostly quality tobacco flavor with a nice touch of espresso. And all while having a good room note and nicotine kick. And it’s affordable! I am a big fan of this one. 🙌🏼

Tampers & Tools - Rubber Pipe Bits (2 pack)
Modified
I didn’t like these at first because I only wanted comfort where I bite down. I couldn’t stand feeling the rubber on my lips when I draw from the pipe. Then I realized I can cut them. When i cut them in half they are just right to where I can bite down on the rubber but draw from the pipe with my lips on the acrylic. Much better for me this way. It’s nice to conserve my teeth and my stems.

Cornell & Diehl - Steamworks 2oz
Bready
I have been breaking in a new Mastro Geppetto pipe with this blend and it has been wonderful. Smoking this blend tastes like fresh dough starting to rise as it bakes into bready deliciousness. This blend demands respect with a slow cadence for full enjoyment. Great for contemplation. It’s one of those that doesn’t seem super special on first bowl, but then after that bowl you can’t stop thinking about it. I recommend grabbing a tin or two.

Replacement Stems - Acrylic Churchwarden Stem (for Nording)
Perfect
Worked perfectly for my natural nording signature freehand. I like it so much better as a churchwarden! Thank you for stocking these Smokingpipes.

Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - Small Batch Freja & Loki 2oz
Pretty damn good
I really enjoy this one. The mulled wine and stone fruit is literally right on the nose when you open the tin. The moisture is PERFECT. Ready to be packed right away. I was definitely persuaded by the story, but mostly by the amount of thought that went into this, the special tobaccos, and I am a sucker for small batches. I didn’t stock up or anything, nor will I as i would rather just savor the one tin by having a special bowl of it here and there. Plus, I pack stronger tobaccos into a smaller bowl. I wish people didn’t have to complain about pricing as if you guys don’t have a good reason for it. If you’re curious about this tobacco, I say it is definitely worth a try. Thanks for all you guys do Smokingpipes!
