Fair and pure virginia with a touch of perique.I don´t give 5 stars because there are better vapers but it,s really good.And not at all extremely dry as it´s said in many reviews,mine arrived in perfect humidity to preserve,needing a slight drying to smoke it.A nice surprise,really good.

Very burleysque for me,I like VaPers with a touch of burley,but this is BurPer with a touch of virginia.Maybe good though not for me.

I like VaPers with a touch of good burley,and C&D has a lot of it.In this blend virginia run very short,only to add a little sweetness,very little indeed.For burley lovers perfect,but for people who like burley only as a background ingredient this is not made.

Astounding
Full matured virginia,strong on perique side and with the just touch of DFK,close to perfection.Tugh but refinated smoke,slow and even burning smoke,filling the need of vit. N.Perfect ina medium-small bowl,not for all the day but for every day.Master piece of blending from C&D.I must remark again,very perique forward and enough DFK.Simply escellent.

A royal virginia queen,it´s incredible the hints and depth that you can find in this pure Va.Astounding,and only four tins to touch the pipe heaven.Nothing to do with the bygone Mc Clelland for curious people,this is an another different but equally marvelous blend.Craving for the next Big Small Batch.

Not the same
A really excellent and original english blend but a lot different from the old and the not so old versions.The oriental side reminds because its sweetness more to Katerini than the original fine & apoteosical touch from the old macedonian leaf.IMHO,of course.Splendid but quite far from the old Presby of yore.

The real stuff arrived with a refund thanks to the awsome customer service.A splendid balanced Va-Per-Cav,perfect burning,perfect cut,nothing to envy of the famous Escudo.Perique and the dash of Cavendish just in the optimal proporcion on the outstanding and little kown Yorktown.Surely I´ll repeat.Certainly a fine blend.

First aboard,little or nothing to do with traditional Bayou morning ribbon.Perhaps due to pressing the Perique presence is some overpowering.i like it,of course,but not for every our or every day.Perfect for Perique lovers,in large dosis.A stout and powerful VaPer.Don´t look for subtlety,it´s all stoutness.

Sweet,very,sweet,too much sweet.IMHO is a sad way of spoiling the excellent.Low in Perique,high in topping.By reading other reviews I wonder if we are smoking the same stuff.A fail in labeling the bag?Who knows?In that case I would be wrong.Waiting for a second bag,I´ll inform you.

A perfect touch of Smyrna on the best virginia from C&D,and just a little bit of perique.Wonderful,and splendid,I repeat,the pure Va. base.Nothing of the typical burleysque touch of tha brand.

This is the most awful arorubbish That I did suffer in many years.What on earth are smoking reviewers who call "this2 a vaper.A shame and a smear over the glorious name of Dunhill Elisabethan Mixture or the most humble but honest virginia-perique outthere.Of course,the poor bowl of my pipe ghosted.I don´t like cake,caramel and flowers in my pipe.Very disappointed.Thanks God English is not my native language,otherwise this review could be not so soft.

A quite complex blend,sweet,in the good sense,spicy and enjoyable.But,IMHO,nothing to do with a real Va-Per.In fact Perique is very subdued.In short,a veri nice and peculiar blend,perhaps with a presence of cavendish,fine unsweetened class,over the desiderable.

I like McC,I like VaPer but I don´t like at all this one.Mayhaps the Blakeney´s process is not for mine.IMHO.

This is like Christmas Cheers after a very long dream in the cellar.Mayhaps not so tangy as others McCl.IMHO this the perfect pure virginia flake.

Really a good tobacco,full of flavour and strength but...not a straight Va.,the presence of Burley is more than evident.If you aren´t a burley hater this is one of the beste flakes available.On the other hand,if you have troubles with burley leaf,better don´t smoke it.
McClelland - Blended Turkish Ribbon

I detect mostly Black Sea leaf,Samsum or Soukhoumi.With that touch os fine Havana cigar.Smokeable stright but a lot better for blending.Be careful with proportions.Heavenly with Perique.
Samuel Gawith - Best Brown Flake 50g
Right true
This is trully the best brown virginia flake that you can find outthere.Rhodesian leaf is,of course,quite different from northamerican stuff,both splendid.Humidity optimal for cellaring,just a little Sun and air to become the perfect smoke.This is not only an all day blend,it´s a all life blessing in my pipes.
McClelland - 5100 - Red Cake
Gate to virginias
Quite mild for a McC virginia.Optimal burning and,relatively,soft.Perfect blender if you like to tune down other more spicy but agressive McC virginias.It´s an excellent first step in Va world.
McClelland - Special: Anniversary 100g
a lot more than a pinch
Fine McC virginia but no ketchup,I miss it.And a lot more than a pinch of latakia.High quality monochromatic blend.For me it´s a sibling of Samovar without the oriental touch.Good and simple like Commonwealth of S.Gawith but with McC personality.

IMHO nothing to do with Escudo and,by the way,more expensive.I am very disappointed.

Fine virginias,certainly,but with a little but noticeable casing.If you can´t tolerate aromatics simply don´t buy it.At the other hand if you like soft aromatics is splendid.That is your choice and my honest advice.
McClelland - Blending Perique
Authentic
Really difficult to find other items to compare,excepting that of C&D.I feel this one a little darker and stronger that the C&D´s.Being the second more fruity and spicicy.I love both,always in the just measure,a hairy question.With McC´s I tend to be not so generous in adding,let´s say a max.18% McC vs. 20% C%D.I believe,or want to believe,that this is true Perique and it isn´t any kind of fake or mixing.All this IMHO.

A lot of Latakia,that´s good,silent orientals,not so good,and finally low grade Va.At same price you can find many better blends.
Presbyterian - Presbyterian 50g
classical
Mellow but intense.The use of some rare macedonian leaf put this tobacco well over any other english.After long years I found it again,not exactly as the old painted tins but wonderful.I read that now is made in Germany by Planta but mayhaps they hired an old good brithish blender from the original brand.If available I´ll smoke,God willing,many tins.
