Ashton - Consummate Gentleman 50g
This is a nice light English with a little bit of a nutty sweetness from the burley. For me, it's a nice change of pace from my usual rotation of straight English and Balkan blends.
G. L. Pease - Westminster 2oz
A really solid English from GLP. Very well-balanced blend.
Samuel Gawith - Commonwealth Mixture 50g
Fantastic smoke for latakia enthusiasts
I just had my first bowl of this, but when you're craving latakia I can't think of a blend that is more rewarding than this one. Definitely a keeper. Strong and full-flavored but not so intense that it overwhelms you. Like most blends from SG,some drying time is required, however.
Drew Estate - Meat Pie 50g
Nice english blend
The aroma from the tin on this one is really, really nice. But I think that left me a little disappointed that it didn't deliver as much in taste when I lit it up. It is maybe a little "one note" and on the lighter side. But still, a good quality light English blend that you can smoke throughout the day.
Dunhill - My Mixture BB1938 50g
This is a fantastic blend from Dunhill -- I think it has become my favorite out of the entire lineup now. Super smooth, yet complex flavors at the same time. Perfect moisture content out of the tin, stays lit easily, and a most enjoyable smoke from first light right down to the bottom of the bowl. Fir me, it is especially enjoyable in the early morning with a good cup of coffee
Samuel Gawith - Winter Time Flake 50g
Great, balanced taste
This is a really nice slow-burning Flake with an excellent balance between the sweet Virginias and the smokiness of the latakia. I find it at its best when rubbed out. As the others have said, just a bit on the moist side out of the tin so it does benefit from a little drying time.
