Sutliff - Cringle Flake 2022 1.5oz
Earthy and Spicy
Tastes as would be expected given the components and the Cavendish processing of the Virginias. No distracting casings or topping. Unique in my experience for holiday tobacco blends. An enjoyable change of pace but definitely different. Agree that would benefit from some drying time, but did not burn hot even right out of the tin. Would be Santa's daily smoke.

5 star Christmas!
Ever since the demise of McClelland and the loss of my annual "Holiday Cheer", I have been looking for other options to smoke this time of year. I am a pretty hard core VaPer fan, but every holiday I take a aromatic detour. It reminds me of Christmas, and makes me happy. Prior to this, C&D’s “Golden Days of Yore” was a decent option, but this knocks it out of the park! I was a little worried about orange in an aromatic, but the tin note and the room note are outstanding (5 stars if I could hand that many out). It takes a lot to knock me out of my standard rotation, but I have been smoking “Jolly” now for three days straight. Excellent work folks.

G. L. Pease - Regents Flake 2oz
How do I love thee ...?
Rich. Full-bodied without being overpowering. Think of the best dessert you have ever tasted, and how you wanted to savor it. This is how Regent's Flake is compared to similar blends. Both in aroma and taste it is just incredibly satisfying.

Kramer's - New Mix
The Red Bar
There used to be a bar at the MGM in Las Vegas that I just called the Red Bar. It was my favorite place in Vegas; vintage, quiet, hidden, bar tender in a tuxedo shirt and vest. If one of the Rat Pack had walked in, I would not have been surprised. And if they had, they would have been smoking Kramer's New Mix. The Red Bar smelled exactly like this blend's room note. I like to think that decades of Red Bar patrons from Beverly Hills relaxed, drank, and smoked New Mix imbuing the place with the aroma and aura that made it special. This smoke is pleasant and full bodied, but not overpowered by the latakia. And it is nostalgic. I have found myself going back to it even when I had planned on one of my usual va-per blends. I love where it takes me.

Low Country - Guendalose 2oz
Cigars all the way down
Excellent smoke! Cigar leaf prominent from the beginning and persists throughout the bowl. Flavor strong, but not harsh and well balanced by the other components. Definitely earns its “4 dot” ratings. The nicotine level is, shall we say, robust?! Don’t expect to stand up right away after the bowl. If you like cigars, this is the blend for you. Other pipe blends claim to be “cigar-like”; this one delivers.

Cornell & Diehl - Granulated Perique
Excellent for "blending your own"
Blend equal parts (volume not weight) of this with a good burley (like Semois), and a good Virginia flake (like McClelland Christmas Cheer), put in a jar for a week, and viola! a most excellent VaPer blend. Was shooting for a room note and taste similar to Dan Salty Dogs. Pretty darn close.
