Amphora - Kentucky Blend 1.75oz
Great Stuff
I like tobacco on the stronger side and this fits the bill.

G. L. Pease - Windjammer 2oz
Needs Some Dark Fired Kentucky
My least favorite GL Pease Bleend. Added 20% Dark Fired Kentucky to make it more to my taste.

Cornell & Diehl - Sunset Harbor Flake 2oz
Pelican Copy?
Never tried the elusive Butera Pelican but this blend has the same components. Balanced mild to medium English.

G. L. Pease - Fillmore 2oz
Fillmore and More in your Pipe
Very good VaPer from Mr. Pease. Love the broken flake style

Cornell & Diehl - Miskatonic Mixture 2oz
I Don't Get It
My least favorite of all the C&D blends I have tried. If I peruse old tomes I'll reach for some Haunted Bookshop.

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Brown Flake Unscented
Only a Hint of Lakeland
The Lakeland essence is an acquired taste but this flake has only a hint of it. Very nice Va/Bur flake.

G. L. Pease - Navigator 2oz
Unique Navy Flake
Less sweet than a traditional navy flake but with more depth of flavor. Very well balanced and the dark fired Kentucky does not overpower the Virginias.

Cornell & Diehl - Exhausted Rooster 2oz
Not Bad
The sweetness of the Virginia is muted by the Dark fired Burley and the Perique is barely noticeable. Some age should improve this blend. I might get some tins to cellar before the FDA turns this rooster into a capon.

G. L. Pease - Quiet Nights 2oz
Hype Is Well Deserved
Who needs Penzance when we still have Quiet Nights.

Mac Baren - Virginia No. 1
Typical Virginia
Sweet and grassy. As with all Virginias, must be sipped to be enjoyed without the bite.

Cornell & Diehl - Red Odessa
Solid English
Checks all the boxes of a good English blend. You can't go wrong with this one.

Mac Baren - HH Old Dark Fired Ready Rubbed
Earthy Goodness
Earthy, musty like a good garden compost with a touch of Virginia sweetness. Pretty darn good.

Cornell & Diehl - Three Friars
Nice Blend
The grassy Virginia is balanced by the nutty Burley with just the right touch of zesty Perique. Nicely done.

Cornell & Diehl - Yorktown
More Bright than Red
the grassiness of Bight Virginia dominates the Red. Not bad but age would improve this blend.

Cornell & Diehl - Maple Cavendish
Meh
Smells better than it smokes. Pleasant room note but not for me.

F & K - Lancer Ready Rubbed
English Flake Heaven
This is my first English flake and it's a good one. A must try for all English lovers.

Savinelli - Brunello Flake 100g
Tasty
Great flake at a good price. The Burley helps to smooth the Virginia and the Oriental add a tang that is delightful.

Cornell & Diehl - Long Cut Perique
Favorite Perique
I like the long cut for blending. It does take a bit longer to ensure it is well distributed throughout the blend but the effort is worth it.

Cornell & Diehl - Izmir Turkish
Turkish Classic
Essential component for your own Balkan blends.

Cornell & Diehl - Latakia
Latkia Heaven
Awesome blender. Rich and smokey

Cornell & Diehl - Cube Cut Burley
Burley Lover's Dream
Another great Burley from C&D. Good blender as well.

Cornell & Diehl - Dark Burley
Good Blender
I use this Burley for home pressed crumble cakes. Keep a log of all my blends

Lane Limited - Medal of Valor 1.75oz
Light English
This is an OK blend but could use a tad more Latakia for my taste. Crown Achievement is the better blend.

Lane Limited - Crown Achievement 1.75oz
Balanced English
About time Lane got something right. This stuff is pretty darn good and is fast becoming my go to English blend.

McClelland - GKCPC: Boston 1776 50g
Great Virginias
I love my Virginias and this one is top notch. Not as sweet as PS Lux Twist but has a greater depth of flavor and balance with no bite.

Cornell & Diehl - Haunted Bookshop
Haunting
Great tobacco. I read a review which said this was Prince Albert with an attitude. I keep Prince Albert in my rotation but Haunted Bookshop is way up the step ladder due to the Perique.

Peterson - University Flake 50g
Plum Fantastic
I first experienced this flake at a local brick and mortar store and fell in love with it. The plum topping is evident in the tin note but not overly sweet after the char light. One of my top tobaccos.

Peterson - Irish Flake 50g
Too Strong
I thought I was man enough to handle this blend. Boy was I wrong! I can handle Nightcap, Old Joe Krantz and Haunted Bookshop on an empty stomach easily. What I discovered is for my taste, I don't like Dark Fired Kentucky. I officially downgraded myself from He Man to Sissy Baby Creampuff.

G. L. Pease - Temple Bar 2oz
Pure Tobacco Flavor
I can not detect any sweetness in this blend. The Red Virgina and Orientals shine through but the Perique is barely noticeable. Ageing should bring out the sweet Yellow Virginia a tad more. There is almost a cigar like quality to this pure unadulterated tobacco. By the way, the customer service at SP is outstanding!

G. L. Pease - Gaslight 2oz
More Please
I imagine this blend will improve with age but I would not know. Smoked it all. Very good English blend.

G. L. Pease - Regents Flake 2oz
Delightful Flake
I had ordered GL Pease Temple Bar but received this similar blend in error. What a great mistake ! I love this stuff. the moisture is perfect and I don't have to fiddle around with my jackknife to cut a plug and let it dry before smoking. Sorry SP, you're not getting this tin back.

McClelland - Holiday Spirit 2017 50g
Tolerable Aromatic
I dislike Aromatic Tobacco, however in keeping with the Christmas Spirit, this grumpy old Scrooge begrudgingly relented and agreed to try this particular blend. It is tolerable for those of us who prefer Burley, Va-per, and English blends.

Peter Stokkebye - PS400 Luxury Navy Flake
Good Va-Per
Off to the cellar we go. Got two pounds of this lovely flake. There may be better flakes out there but not at this price.

Cornell & Diehl - Billy Budd 2oz
Not a Favorite
Bitter, tragic blend just like the Melville story. The bowl starts off innocently enough with a nice Burley/Cigar leaf taste which turns to bitter ash at the last third of the bowl. Billy Budd murders my taste buds and I sentence it to hang.

Cornell & Diehl - Mississippi Mud 2oz
Seductive
As the tin states, an unusual blend. Not overly smoky or sweet with a nice peppery note. I think I am stuck in the mud and I like it.

Cornell & Diehl - Pirate Kake 16oz
Latakia Overdose
This blend lacks balance and should not be smoked by a newbie wishing to try their first English tobacco. The bulk of my purchase is going to my cellar for aging, which will mellow out this Latakia bomb.

Hearth & Home - Black House 1.75oz
Balkan Bliss
One of the best Balkan blends I have ever tried. Well balanced and ready to smoke right out of the tin without aging or preparation and smokes right down to the bottom of the bowl without a relight. A must buy for English lovers.

Cornell & Diehl - Old Joe Krantz
Sweet Memories
People who don't like the pouch note of this tobacco must have never had the privilege of working on a farm. It brought me back to the smell of decaying grass in my great grampa's hay loft. This is a well balanced sweet Burly-Viginia blend with just the right touch of spicy Perique to keep it interesting.Good stuff.

Samuel Gawith - Jubilee 2012 50g Flag
Sweet Smooth Virginia
I purchased this tobacco for the tin only. My girl friend collects tins from Great Britain (everything from biscuits to tea). This is no aromatic. It is a wonderful sweet aged Virginia worthy of the Queen. If you love fine aged Virginia, give this a try before it is gone.

Dunhill - My Mixture 965 50g
Everyman's English
This is a must have for lovers of English blends. Worth keeping in everyone's rotation.

McClelland - Syrian Latakia: Full Balkan 50g
Sip and Enjoy
Like a fine bourbon, this blend must be sipped slowly to be enjoyed. Very good evening smoke when you are winding down and relaxing.

Filters & Adaptors - Brigham Rock Maple Inserts (8 Pack)
Only Filter System I Use
I hate using filters but this is the only one I will use. The Brigham rock maple filter absorbs moisture, not full tobacco flavor. They work great in my 3 dot Brigham Mountaineer 316.

Tampers & Tools - Brigham Red Pipe Tool
Must Have Pipe Tool
I was using a small pen knife as a tool/tamper but this fits my needs much better. The long narrow spike is especialy useful and the rounded blade is perfect for removing excess cake and dottle. The wood grain handle looks great. this is a must have tool for the serious pipe smoker.

Newminster - No.400 Superior Navy Flake
Need More
Only got 2oz sample to try it out. After aging a bit,was gone in a week. Really good Navy Flake. Getting a pound next time.

Lighters - IMCO Gold Pipe Lighter
Good Lighter for the Money
Love this little lighter. Flame angle is great for lighting my pipes, is refillable and you can change the flints. The folding tamper is a bit flimsy but works fine when you are on the go.

Dunhill - Nightcap
Best of the English Blends
I am not a fan of english blends but this one has just enough latakia for my taste. I will keep this one in my rotation. It has a pleasant smokey aroma but is not overpowering as some english tobaccos are. I tend to favour burly and virginias but will definitely reorder this one.Smoked this in my Kaywoodie Supergrain.

Newminster - No.400 Superior Navy Flake
Good Viginia Flake
Good smoke with a mild tongue bite. Can't wait for this one to age.

Grand Croupier - Boneyard
Poor Man's English
I am generally not a fan of Enlish blends but this tobacco could change my mind. Delightfully smooth and mildly smokey flavor at a bargain price, what is not to like?

Cornell & Diehl - Shandygaff
Salty
A bit too salty for my taste. It goes beyond the smell of an ocean breeze and is more akin to a mouthful of the salty brine. If you love salt and tobacco, this is your blend. After setting this blend aside for a while, I still did not care for it.Not wanting to toss it, added 25% vanilla cavendish and topped it with spiced dark Jamaican rum. Let it dry for a while and wow! I would not buy Shandygaff again but my own blend is 4stars and will keep it in my rotation untill it is gone.

F & K - Black Bayou Mist
Smokey
Needs to be dried out a bit to dissipate the pouch note of a burned down house. Not a bad smoke, smooth lightly smokey flavor which hopefully will improve with age. After aging for over two months, I am begining to appreciate the complexities of this fine English blend. A great change of pace from the Burleys and Va-Pers I smoke. I will add a star and keep this one in my rotation.

Mac Baren - Golden Extra
Good Burley
I love the smell of burley in the morning! Smooth and unpretentious, not for the tobacco snob, but great for us lowly common folk.

Comoy's - Cask No.4
Pleasently Surprised
I must confess that heretofore I have been a, gasp, OTC smoker! My Grampa smoked Prince Albert and it is still a favorite in my rotation. For any of you first timers wanting to venture into the world of fine Virgina Perique Blends on a budget, you will not be disappointed. this tobacco is awesome.
