Peterson - Early Morning Pipe 50g
Murray's 1976
I am currently smoking a bowl of EMP from 1976. I have been enjoying EMP since it came back in 09/10 first thing in the morning pre Breakfast. This tin from 76, I just opened as well, right before smoking it and the smell was amazing the smoke is amazing. Difference? just age, the main EMP flavors are all there I think that is what is most impressive is that the flavor did not fade or mellow out too much. I always read how Murrays was different and even in an article in Pipes Mag(Edward g Robinson on the cover) stated that Dunhill was different before Murrays started. I feel and found for myself is that like ERR & LLRR, these blends are the same they don't taste like an entirely different smoke. Yes the age is wonderful but if I smoked this along with the new Peterson, and Dunhill 2009, I honestly could say there was a small difference and that only being age. I even broke in my new Briar with this. I will next smoke it in my briar which has been dedicated to EMP from break in. If there is all of a sudden a huge difference I will be sure and post my experience.

Lane Limited - Ready Rubbed 14oz
STILL THE SAME 👌🏼
I am smoking Edgeworth RR from 1987 I just opened, the other day I smoked LLRR and other than age all the same notes of cocoa, molasses, rum are here just more mellow and not up front. The difference I can tell is actually the Aroma from the bowl which is just a little richer in smell but not in any other way different, as any well aged tobacco would be. I think I prefer the smoke of a new LLRR getting all these notes more pronounced but I give bowl/Room note to the aged Edgeworth RR. I will grab a tub or two just to age. It's nice to see for myself the tobacco hasn't changed and why would it since Lane was already the ones producing it.

Peterson - University Flake 50g
Plum Pudding
I jarred a new tin up for 4 months, giving it time to mellow just a bit. Upon opening the jar there was more of a Plum & Milk Chocolate note. Smoking it was amazing after that short time, it was more Plum Pudding than SPC titled Plum Pudding. Mid way through the bowl came more together as a Peanut butter, Plum preserves/Jam with a toasty sweet bread/chocolate note, but at the back nowhere near the front flavors of the Plum. I have smoked it in bigger bowls and recently found (for myself) that a smaller bowl condensed the taste in great way to get all the flavors out of it in a more balanced way.

Peterson - Early Morning Pipe 50g
Emp
Maybe since my collection of Dunhill has mellowed from age but my first smoke of the Peterson was the same except in 2 areas Peterson was a little stronger in nic 👍🏻 and the smell upon opening the tin had a little more chocolatey smell. Smoking taste there was no difference. Again, was probably just the age
