Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Ennerdale Flake
Great tasting Flake if you like a little Lakeland floral flavor with a good amount of sweetness. I found it rich and interesting. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I do but I keep reaching for it over and over! Definitely worth a try!
Orlik - Dark Strong Kentucky 50g
Happy I Tryed It!
Very good little Flakes, Smell from the tin sweet,Smokey slightly licorice-E.. But I really enjoy the tin note. The Taste does not disappoint.. This is not Irish Flake or ODF. This has some of the same flavors but not as strong by any means... This is sweet, slightly smoky and smooth. I had not tryed this Blend because I had Hurd the topping was strong and I normally enjoy more natural tobaccos but in this case I think it adds to the blend sweetness and a more rounded smooth flavor... Very good I will be buying more!
G. L. Pease - Temple Bar 2oz
Really Enjoying this Plug. So much in fact I can’t stop reordering it. The flavors are strong, full bodied tobacco flavor. I love this In the morning with my Coffee. Really has become a favorite of mine.
Cornell & Diehl - Crooner
I am Starting to become a fan of Burley Blends. I really enjoy “Haunted Bookshop “ Old Joe Krantz, “Aged Burley Flake”. This is first and foremost a Burly Blend, I really enjoy the Cube Cut for packing and smoking. The nuttyness of the burly mixed with a vanilla “like” sweetness that pops in and says hello from time to time. I had never had Deertongue before in a Blend and was a bit worried I would not like it, I’m glad I gave it a try. I’ve been really enjoying many relaxing smokes with this Blend. Definitely worth a try!

Glad I came back.
Early on in my Pipe smoking venture I watched a couple YouTube Video’s from “Matches860” were he really seemed to love this Blend. So I ordered some but wasn’t to impressed and didn’t get what all the fuss was about at all..at the time I was really into strong English blends and wasn’t too familiar with Burley at all besides in “Prince Albert” after a couple years of refining my palate and really coming to enjoying Virginia and Perique Blends I again watched another Review from “Stuff and Things” and wondered if I should go back and see if my opinion had changed with time and Experience. So I bought some more... An already long story short, I Really am loving this tobacco Blend lately and am picking it over almost all of my other favorite blends. The Nutty-ness from the burly is really tasty as well as the Perique is spot on where it needs to be to complement and add a little spice...I don’t know for the life of me why I didn’t care for this at first but I’m so glad I came back. It’s a wonderful everyday smoke, Very very good! Give it a try!
McConnell - Scottish Cake 50g
A very good straight up tobacco Flavor, Sweet virginia’s and mild Perique! I have had this and a tin of the “Scottish Flake” and if I had to choose between the two I would say I enjoyed this one more. More sweetness that I enjoy and slight spice from the Perique. I don’t notice the burley to much in this Blend. If anything it does it’s job and just complements the overall flavor. Definitely worth a try.
Three Nuns - Three Nuns 1.75oz
A good Smoke.
This Blend has grown on me. I love a lot of Virginia/Perique Blends And was interested in trying this. At first I was not to impressed. It’s not as sweet as I was hoping and the dark fired does give it some spice but not exactly like Perique. But a little over a week of smoking this in my rotation it has grown on me. It’s mild compared to a lot of the “va-pers” I smoke but it is a nice smoke for me in the morning and goes great with coffee thanks to the Dark Fired. Sweet hay notes mixed with crushed dry walnuts. It doesn’t sound to appealing but it really works in this Blend. Came ready to smoke right out of the tin. I also love the small roll cut coins. In short this didnt blow me away but I did have many moments of relaxation. Worth a Try!
Dunhill - Navy Rolls 50g
I love Virginia/perique blends and have tryed quite a few.. This is probably my Favorite, very similar to “escudo” But a little Darker, not as Sweet and With more of a perique presence..Very Creamy Smoke.. definitely worth a try if your a fan of Virginia/perique Blends. I can’t smoke this all the time because of the price sadly but I get it when I can. I still love Solani 633, Cabbies Mixture and Escudo Very much and Dunhill Navy Rolls Just holds a slight edge for me over all for me. Very Good!
Samuel Gawith - Commonwealth 50g
I love a lot of heavy Latakia Blends such as , gaslight, pirate kake, da Vinci ,And Nightcap to name a few. This is heavy in Latakia but it's different and not a smack in the face like you might expect. It's smooth, sweet and Creamy Smoke. I can't get enuff of it since cracking open the Tin. It's not overly complicated but it's very relaxing and Pretty much has become what I have been reaching for in the evenings especially. Very good, give it a try!
Solani - Virginia Flake - 633 50g
Now this Is what I'm talking about!
Wonderful Sweet And fruity Virginia's with a Balanced amount of Perique. I can't say enuff about the Virginia's in this Blend they are probably the best I've ever smoked. I am a huge fan of Perique so this Blend definitely has enuff I believe for a good Smoke but I would always take a pinch more if I had it my way but I still believe it is quite balanced and the quality of the Virginia's is what makes this Blend shine. I would Smoke this over escudo any day of the week! 🙂
Cornell & Diehl - Engine #99 2oz
A Pleasant English blend
A very good and Basic English Style Blend. It's not the Greatest English I've ever smoked but it is enjoyable and worth a try. I enjoy a more Latakia forward Blend like Pirate Kake so Engine 99 was good just nothing really jumped out at me and smacked me in a the face.
Cornell & Diehl - Mountain Camp 2oz
Wonderful Flavor and Spice
I love Strong English Mixture's, This Blend is just fantastic! Has a wonderful Smoky campfire flavor with a perfect amount of Perique in my opinion to spice things up. I just had a bowl of this by my fire-pit and had such a wonderful experience and moment of relaxation I had to be sure and right a review. Great Stuff. I will be buying more in the near future.
Samuel Gawith - Cabbies Mixture 50g
One of the Best!
I Have tried several VA-Per Blends and "Cabbie's Mixture " might be my overall favorite up to this point. I do Enjoy Escudo,Dunhill Navy Rolls and Solani 633, But Cabbie's Mixture just might take the top spot for me. It's sweet and Dark, grassy with just the perfect amount of spice and taste from the Perique. A excellent Blend for the Virginia/Perique lover. Comes a little wet of course but a little drying time is all it takes. Enjoy!!
Cornell & Diehl - Pirate Kake 2oz
Wonderful Evening Smoke.
Latakia forward for sure, but I absolutely love the flavors I get off of this Blend. It's true if you take your time more of the other tobacco's shine through.... Its probably my favorite tobacco to enjoy on a cool night on my porch with a warm cup of coffee. It's almost magical.
Cornell & Diehl - Billy Budd 2oz
Great Stuff!! Sooo tasty and Relaxing!
Wonderful Creamy Smoke. I love Latakia so some of my Favorite English blends are MM965,Nightcap,Gaslight and Pirate kake...Don't be afraid of the cigar leaf, I was a bit skeptical myself since I don't really care for cigars but the leaf only adds a mild spicyness almost like a Touch of Perique. The taste is very very good and nice and creamy...very Relaxing..."Matches860" gives a good review on YouTube also that got me interested to give it a try.... Overall it's probably taken over a few blends in my standard rotation for English style blends. Great Stuff. I will be buying more.
