Cornell & Diehl - Mountain Camp
Unique! A Must Try
As a big fan of Bayou Night, I had to try this tweak of a blend. There's enough Perique for an interesting spicy zing. The Latakia is dominant, but not obliterating. If Nightcap is a Bell Pepper, Mountain Camp is a Green Chili. Highy recommended!

Cornell & Diehl - Poplar Camp
Good Predictable VaPer
I've been enjoying Bayou Morning for a year or so. Poplar Camp is a good tobacco, but it lacks the touch of sweetness that I like so well with Bayou Morning. I definitely recommend Bayou over Poplar, unless you dislike bit of sweetness.

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Dark Flake Unscented
Wonderful!
Very strong, very full flavored flake. Easy to rub out. Smokes perfectly after a thorough relight. I only use a small bowl for this espresso of pipe tobaccos. Flavor is excellent... sweet, caramelized, woody to the bottom of the bowl. Perfect with strong coffee. No more than the slightest hint of Lakeland and only during the charring light.

FLAVOR!!!!
After finishing off a bag of sliced black twist, I knew I had to try the unsliced. I did the same thing that I 've learned to do with other twists; slice off a bit and put it in the coffee grinder (call me lazy). This is the perfect smoke on those days when it seems like my taste buds are asleep. Great flavor, cool smoking, long lasting smoke. Excellent with strong coffee.

Cornell & Diehl - Cube Cut Burley
Great Mixer
Very respectable strength and quality from C&D. I liked the quality of this cubed burley when I tried Crooner blend, so I ordered a bit of the straight stuff to try. It's knot in the chest strong! Probably not what most folks would smoke straight. Very easy to pour and smoke. Crisp, spicy zing with the flavor (for lack of better descriptions) of fresh cut alfalfa? Less bite than I anticipated. I plan to use this cube cut burley to doctor up milder blends that I like but find uninspiring to smoke. If you plan to smoke much of this stuff straight, I'd recommend a screen in the bottom of the pipe, or at least a pinch of rough cut or ribbon to keep the draw clear and free of chunky bits. But overall, this is another great C&D product.

Cornell & Diehl - Pegasus
Best Burley Blend Yet
Most enjoyable! What interested me was the sweetness of the blend, which makes a nice alternative to my Perique/Burley taste. Easy to light and smoke right to the bottom of the bowl. No bite and 100% good tobacco; no garden mulch to throw away here. Medium strength, best for a medium or large pipe. Initial flavor is beer and honey, which drifts toward popcorn as the bowl ends. Excellent warm day smoke with a pale beer. Highly recommend!

Cornell & Diehl - Crooner
To Each His Own
Crooner isn't for everyone, but if you like burley and want something a bit more interesting, Crooner is it. I'm impressed with the quality, strength, and easy smoking of the cubed burley. As far as the deer tongue, when properly dried, it adds a subtle and enjoyable scent and flavor. I would describe that flavor as jasmine tea with milk and honey. I only have an ounce of Crooner, but will surely stock it among a very select few aromatics on my shelf. If you order Crooner ask for double baging and keep it away from other tobaccos as the fresh deer tongue is very pungent. In my opinion, Crooner is most enjoyable when it is quite dry and the scent of the deer tongue has mellowed.
