G. L. Pease - Meridian 2oz
Bright Morning Tobacco
This bright and cherry tobacco has become my morning smoke. I really like the sweetness, which is not overpowering like some virginia tobaccos can be. I also like the subtle flavors and how they develop as i smoke. The Latakia gives it a nice backbone that helps to temper the Virginia's. Great with a morning cup of tea or coffee.
Mac Baren - HH Old Dark Fired 1.75oz
Dark Malty and Tasty
I received my tin of tobacco opened it up and was greeted a heavy malty smell with hints of chocolate. It did take a couple of lites, but hey that's a pipe. Upon smoking this wonderful tobacco it reminded me of a very dark malty porter. It smoked very cool and once lite stayed lite. I really like this tobacco and will be ordering several more tins.
G. L. Pease - Sixpence 2oz
I tried this based off of the reviews on the website, and I was not disappointed. This is an amazing and complex smoke that just begs to be enjoyed with a nice pour of good scotch. It smokes slow, and cool and is very nice for those long relaxing smokes at the end of the day.
Brigham - Klondike Gold 50g
This is a wonderful Virginia tobacco that is flavorful and pleasant to smoke. I really like this one.
McClelland - 221-B Series: Arcadia 50g
When I first opened this tin the only thing I could think of was Meat Pie. It smelled meaty and robust like a steak house. I smoked that tin and was still intrigued so I ordered another, and I've smoked that one as well. It has an excellent flavor that is light and not harsh, the room note is different I liked but my wife did not so this got smoked in the garage. This really seemed like a blend of fruit and meat.
Captain Earle's - Mystic Blend 2oz
So I always try and order something I've never tried before and this was one of those tins. The room note on this is very nice, and it smokes incredibly cool. I'm surprised by how the flavor of this changes from pipe to pipe. Sometimes the Latakia is very pronounced and the spic is heavy while the Virginia is in the background and subtle. Then other times it's the Perique that is taking center stage. I've not smoked anything quite like this. So far it's been very enjoyable.
CAO - Eileen's Dream 50g
I opened the tin and was greeted with the aroma's of chocolate, Irish crème, an earthy note and subtle Cavendish. I smoked this out of the tin and found it to be a little moist, but very enjoyable. It smoked very cool and wasn't hot when smoked slow. I did find the chocolate a little heavy and overshadowed the Irish crème a bit but all in all very nice.
McClelland - Craftsbury: Deep Hollow 100g
I've always loved the smell of Virginia tobacco's and I've tried a few and have always been on the fence about them. This one turned out to be a very nice smoke that burns slow and has great taste. I've been smoking it in the evening and I'm really liking it. There is that hint of cinnamon that adds a little spice and leaves a tingle on the tongue.
