Captain Black - Original 1.5oz
Not Worth your Time
Absolutely horrible, it is well beyond my comprehension why anyway would waste their time with this stuff.

Daughters & Ryan - Ryback 16oz
Rich and Flavourful
I love this tobacco. If you pack it tightly in your bowl it releases plenty of flavour, but if you are accustomed to aromatic or heavily cased tobacco you will probably miss the point.

Five Brothers - Five Brothers 1.25oz
OTC Through and Through
I had a few reservations about the thin cut, but it all worked out well in the end. This is a powerful nicotine blend running against a burley background with nutty undernotes. The casing is similar to Carter Hall. It consumes fast but I found it rather satisfying.

Cornell & Diehl - Cavendish Cut Burley
Good Blending Component
This tobacco comprises white burley cavendish and bright virginia, but to a lesser extent. I had it on its own and to blend other tobaccos, and it works really well with latakia and orientals. It has a very nice roasty, nutty, sweet and caramelized back notes. So far as I know, Odessa contains a portion of it, but there might be present in other CD blends. If you are finding it a little bit too one way street, try mixing it with other blending components and see if you like it more that way. I personally love it, but I think you need to have a few bowls to be able to fully appreciate it.

Cornell & Diehl - Exclusive
Best VaPer I Ever Had
Not nearly as strong as it purports to be. Some people might disagree, but you can smoke it every day. And if it scares you, buy any other blending component and bring it down a bit with it.

Cornell & Diehl - Exclusive
I can't put it down
I just found myself smoking pipe after pipe after pipe of this stuff. It is true it is strong, but in the sense of "packed with flavour." Probably one of the best vapers I ever had.

Cornell & Diehl - Odessa
Burley, Latakia, Turkish, Perique
A rather nice combination of flavours, well cooked, it has different layers. Probably one of my favourite all-day smoke from CD.

Daughters & Ryan - Vengeur 16oz
Not your usual burley blend
The combination of burley and Turkish is superb. In my personal opinion it does not need any Virginia, but it does not bother me either. If you like non-aromatic burley blends, you will probably love this one as well. The quality of the leaf is spot on, and you can tweak to satisfy or meet your personal needs.

Cornell & Diehl - Exclusive
No holds barred
I have always been under the impression tobacco blenders will follow some rules, but this tobacco is so extraordinary I do no longer know what to believe. The amount of perique is insane, but it is not nearly as strong as I was expecting. Just give it a go, it might surprise you. This is like a nice barbecued steak with lots of pepper and a sweet note playing its magic in the background.

Arango - Balkan Supreme
Best Balkan Blend I Ever Had
This Balkan blend is quite the thing. The quality of the leaf seems off the chart. I am quite impress.

Cornell & Diehl - Old Joe Krantz Red Label
Not an aromatic, but smokes like an OTC
If you like heavy burley/perique blends such as Picayune, Big n' Burley, Old Joe Krantz, Haunted Bookshop, etc., this is not it. OJK red label smokes like a light English Latakia blend with the addition of black Cavendish. It contains a fair amount of the sweetened type, which I am not a fan of, but all the ingredients and components are of good quality, so I cannot find CD at fault here for not being a favourite. My only complaint is it seems to contain a fair amount of it, so it plays a major role right at the forefront of everything. If you have been smoking OTCs up until now and you want to dabble into the world of non-aromatics, this blend could be for you.

Lighters - Peterson Pipe Lighter Grey
A Functional Lighter
I works perfectly fine, the gas chamber holds enough butane to keep you going for quite some time, but the marble effect looks a little bit plasticky.

Cornell & Diehl - Izmir Turkish
It Mimics Bright Virginia as a Blending Component
This tobacco goes really well with burley blends. It has a rather distinctive sweetness when you combine it with other tobaccos. The leaf is quite clean and I cannot detect any casings or added flavour. I think we are lucky we can buy this as a blending component.

Daughters & Ryan - Two Timer
Not Your Usual Burley Blend
I do not know how they managed, but this straight burley tobacco is sweet and tangy at the same time. It kind of behaves like a virginia blend, but it is nuttier, creamier, and has chocolatey and coconut notes to it. I have never had a burley blend with these characteristics and I do not seem to have enough of it. I love it!

Daughters & Ryan - Ramback Balkan
Not your typical Oriental
I am finding this tobacco exceptionally good. It behaves mostly like a virginia tobacco, but with a little bit of something to leave you wondering. It is quite complex and will develop into different layers. It has rather nice zesty, sweet and tangy notes, whereas the Oriental leaf seem to play more of a hide and seek role..This eluding aspect is difficult to describe, but a sweet and sour note akin to pomegranate or pressed sweets will come through now and now again. What I like about this tobacco is that the backdrop the sweet notes evolves against is not quite apparent, but something to look for that will develop as you progress with your smoke. These features are quite remarkable, and for that reason I will give it 5 stars.

Daughters & Ryan - Rimboché S.J.
Surprisingly Good
If you are into non-aromatic tobacco and will enjoy a VaPer, this tobacco is probably for you. It comprises two different varieties of tobacco, but it does not lack depth or sophistication, and seems to evolve quite nicely through every quarter of your bowl.

Sutliff - Balkan Sobranie 759 Match
Creamy, smoky and sweet
Nice rough cut and really slow burning. I never had the original one, but this tobacco is quite good in its own right. It contains sweetened black Cavendish and a fair amount of orientals and latakia, but I would not class it as a full Balkan. I comes a little bit moist in the bag and does not seem to produce a rich dense smoke, but I am loving the dry fruit undertones and the slow burning capabilities. In my personal opinion this is going to age beautifully and this price range it really is a steal.

Cornell & Diehl - Virginia Flake
Nice Tang, Excellent Blending Component
This tobacco is and excellent blending component. It pairs really well with white burley. It has a rather sweet and citrusy profile, but it can be boring if smoked on its own.

Cornell & Diehl - Dark Fired Kentucky
Just what I was looking for!
The quality is off the charts, uncased tobacco, very versatile, can be mixed with almost anything, woodsy aroma, nutty and creamy, it rocks.

Sutliff - 515 RC-1
Danish style virginia
Not my cup of tea. The leaf they use seems to be OK, but I did not enjoy the casing.

Cornell & Diehl - Old Joe Krantz White Label 2oz
Quite round and balanced
The addition of unsweetened black cavendish is what sets it apart. The gold leaf plays an important role as well, whereas the burley leaf is the main character. Very soft on the palate.

Cornell & Diehl - Pegasus
Uncased everyday burley blend
I like all the components CD uses for their blends, so you gotta be clumsy not to get it right, and they are master blenders at CD. What sets this blend apart is the addition of unsweetened back cavendish. If you like their burley blends, you will probably like this medium body blend with nutty and cocoa undertones.

Carter Hall - Carter Hall 1.5oz Pouch
Best Burley OTC in the world
I am somewhat disappointed in me I like this tobacco, but I do.

Cornell & Diehl - Shandygaff
Sea breeze experience with a pinch of pepper.
The smoking experience is very nutty, salty and peppery, and it never gets harsh on the palate like other Burley blends.

Carter Hall - Carter Hall 1.5oz Pouch
One for the sweet-toothed
One of the very few aros I truly enjoy.

Cornell & Diehl - Red Virginia Ribbon
Good Quality Leaf
The taste profile is more earthy than citrusy, and can pack quite a wallop. The quality is off the charts and can be cellared.

Cornell & Diehl - Dark Fired Kentucky
Bold and Nutty
Could overwhelm if smoked on its own, but it is an excellent blending component never the less. It has cigarrish and nutty undertones, and is full of flavour.

Cornell & Diehl - White Burley
Salty and Nutty
This tobacco performs exceedingly well as a blending component, but it can be smoked on it's own. It's salty and nutty profile reminds me of Shandygaff.

Cornell & Diehl - Shandygaff
perfect for the summer season
I think the marrying of all different components is quite balanced in this burley blend. It does not turn harsh as you progress with your smoke and seem to evolve quite nicely the more you progress with your smoke.

Peter Stokkebye - PS402 Luxury Twist Flake
A Danish Style Tobacco, but not Overtly Aromatic
It displays very nice virginia properties, but the topping seems to be so much in the forefront.

McClelland - 2020 - Matured Cake Mixture
This is ringing all my bells
Not so more a Balkan as it is an Oriental, very spicy and fruity, it hits the right spots and will evolve nicely as you progress with your smoke.

McClelland - 2010 - Classic Virginia
A very solid smoke
Not very sweet or quite full-bodied, but dark in character and full of flavour. I cannot recommend enough this blend. It really is truly amazing.

Newminster - No.400 Superior Navy Flake
Quite decent, might order again
It displays virginia properties, quite mellow on the palate with earthy and hay like undertones.

Peter Stokkebye - PS41 Cube Cut
Truly remarkable
Quite easy to pack, very nutty and mellow on the palate, does not develop any harsh spots. Highly recommended if you are a burley lover.

Peter Stokkebye - PS312 Toasted Burley
A platypus in between dark fired and dry cured
Sweater than expected from a burley blend with a very pronounced nutty flavour, this tobacco is truly remarkable.

Low Country - Natural Virginia & Burley
Nicest room-note and unbelievable nutty flavour
Somewhat similar to Haunted Bookshop but without the perique.

Cornell & Diehl - Star of the East
A paradigm in the standard definition of "Balkan"
This is a nice full and round run-of-the-mill Balkan type tobacco. I am glad it's fallen into my hands as it is truly remarkable.

Cornell & Diehl - Haunted Bookshop
Better than Old Joe Krantz
Not heavy on the perique, it displays the nutty properties of the burley leaf better than OJK.

Sutliff - 523 Voodoo Queen
Mild Aromatic
The marrying of all tobacco components seems to be quite balanced. Not bad, but not great either.

Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Morning
Not for the faint hearted
Absolutely superb!!! Very nice and tangy with spicy and sweet undertones.

Cornell & Diehl - Old Joe Krantz
This is all about Perique
The Virginia leaf is really good, but can develop harsh spots if you smoke fast.

Peter Stokkebye - PS400 Luxury Navy Flake
Get more bang for your buck
Easy to pack in your pipe, cool smoke, no tongue-bite, good value for money.

Cornell & Diehl - Granulated Perique
Best bulk perique I have ever tried.
Very forgiving. It is so nice it could be smoked on its own.

Cornell & Diehl - Red Virginia Ribbon
Gorgeous
It has depth and body and displays all the Virginia properties you could expect in a tobacco with these characteristics.
