Comoy's - Cask No.4
Shits all over Stokkobye
I wasn't sure what to expect from this when I ordered. What i was met with is a lovely 'navy style' flake that that has some hints of fruit and just enough spice from the perique. Everything is just right. It packs and burns well, has no bite and would probably age beautifully. Comoy's #4 is the firm pound for pound King and also heaps cheaper than the other offerings. Next best is Newminster but I'm not sure why people rave about Stokkobye navy flake as it is the worst I've tried so far..

Rattray's - Hal O' The Wynd 100g
Instant favourite!
Really enjoyed Marlin Flake and this is similar but has a lot more complexity and less power. Best enjoyed at night with a whiskey or beer. I don't know what it is about this blend but it became a favourite of mine almost instantly and I can't imagine my rotation without it now. It's special, give it a crack!

Rattray's - Marlin Flake 100g
Great stuff! Get on it.
Usually not a big fan of perique blends, excess spice in tobacco is not my thing. But this defied my expectations of what the blend was going to be. Needs a fair bit of drying time as it is very moist but what awaits you is a smokey, meaty blend that boarders on sweet also. I highly reccomend!

Rattray's - Accountant's Mixture 100g
Good English
Really liked this blend, creamy with a light spice. Might pair well with chai. Good english blend but not the best i've ever tried. Also, just watch how fast you smoke this one

McClelland - 2030 - No. 1 Grade Balkan
Hits the spot any time of day
This is one of my favourite morning smokes. It's pairs well with tea and coffee, and is great for any time of day. It burns really well, has a mellow smokey flavour and not too much nicotine. If you like Balkan blends and want something with a bit more to it than EPM, this is for you.

Peter Stokkebye - PS400 Luxury Navy Flake
Bites like a mule
I've read other people's reviews and the general consensus is that this blend is pretty good, or great even. I feel like I've smoked something completely different to everyone else. It smells nice and sweet, rubs out and packs well, shit it even burns well. But the tongue-bite from this even when I'm smoking slow, with higher moisture, with lower moisture, no matter what; it just destroys my taste buds. The flavor isn't that great either, i'll stick to Erinmore flake or Orlik golden slice

Drew Estate - Central Park Stroll 50g
Chocolate tobacco?
How to describe it... This stuff is like inhaling a mixture of croissant and nutella. May or may not sound appealing but it works. This tobacco has a lovely tin note, is very mild and does not bite. Not for everyone but has definite appeal if you like you aromatics. Needs drying time or it gets very goopy and unpleasant. For a real treat try mixing 1 part Central Park Stroll and 1 part Erinmore Flake = Fruit and nut chocolate!

Drew Estate - Gatsby Luxury Flake 50g
Sweet flakey goodness
I find this tobacco very similar (but different) to Erinmore Flake and Orlik Golden Slice; Has a lovely sweet and somewhat fruity aroma and burns like a champ. Needs some drying but not too much, has minimal (if any) bite and is a great smoke for a hot day...

Erinmore - Erinmore Flake 50g
A damn classic
This has been one of my favorite tobaccos since i began smoking a pipe. Lovely citrus tin note and a sweet, satisfying smoke that i enjoy at anytime of the day. Can bite if there is too much moisture but i find it a good introductory flake tobacco. Just smoke it, this stuff is great. Just don't confuse it with the mixture, that stuff is horrible...

Mac Baren - Golden Extra
Solid smoke
This is a nice solid blend of Virginias and Burley. Didn't blow my mind but i am certainly not complaining either. This can burn hot and give a tiny bit of bite if rushed but either way you will be rewarded with a smoke that is sweet on the tongue and on the nose.

McClelland - 5115 - Old World Classic
Naturally sweet virginia
I just came off a Christmas Cheer binge a little while ago and was craving that same sort of sweet but complex mix of virginias. This hit the spot and will be a permanent addition to my rotation. Needs some drying time, rubs out easy and is damn delicious. Also has that tomato sauce/fruit/clove tin note that McClelland do so well...

Cornell & Diehl - Oak Alley 8oz
Pleasurable powerhouse!
I recently got 2oz tin given to me, not thinking much of it (I've had some major let downs with a few C&D blends), but once I tried it i was very pleasantly surprised. One of the best made plugs I've seen, cuts well, not too moist or dry and rubs down easy. With no aging this is very in your face; Powerful but with some nice natural sweetness and citrus aromas. With age i think this could be amazing. Time to stock up the cellar!!

Davidoff - Flake Medallions 50g
Decent but not amazing
The first few times I tried this, i was in love. It was mellow, sweet and the perique was not overpowering. I recently ordered it again and was quite disappointed. Not sure if my tastes have changed or the blend has, but it just wasn't the same. The perique if far more dominant and it tastes out of balance. I frequently developed a crust on the tobacco that had to be scraped away and tossed into the ashtray if i wanted to keep it lit. For the price it's not great. Peter Stokkobye's Luxury Bullseye Flake is far better priced and smokes and tasted better in my opinion.

McClelland - Christmas Cheer 2015 100g
Brilliant
So I've tried the 2014 edition of this, didn't love it at first but it definitely grew on me.The 2015 has the same tomato sauce aroma but is a lot sweeter. I loved it so much i smoked a tin in a week. trying to hoard as much as i can at the moment. Stellar job by McClelland

Drew Estate - Toasted Black Cavendish 50g
Great Aero
Probably my favorite blend at the moment. The tobacco smells like a Christmas fruitcake when you crack the tin and has notes of vanilla when it's burning. It is not heavily flavored but it tastes amazing. Very nice, mellow relaxing smoke that burns well and is incredibly enjoyable!

Peterson - Summertime Blend 2014 100g
Awesome! Creamy, fruity and sweet.
Easily the best of the Peterson limited 2014 blends. I've found Peterson tobacco to be very hit and miss bit they hit the nail on the head with this! The aroma is fantastic, the smoke mild and creamy, the taste fruity and sweet and it burns quite well to boot! Highly reccomended if aromatics are your thing..
