Tampers & Tools - 8deco Penner Tamper
A must for your EDC.. Pipe or no..
I held off on getting this tool as to build my cellar and pipe collection (until the next episode of PAD strikes) however, after buying two 8deco tampers, I think it made it worse because I knew that it would be quality and innovative. The tamper foot designs had me hooked and 12 beans? C'mon man, you just can't beat that with a stick. So I sprung for the E ticket ride with nostalgia in mind as my Grandfather had a similar model and going old school with the spread load, roll up pouch method as much of The Greatest Generation did. A tamper that stayed put and fit nicely next to my pen, pencil or whatever else fit the bill nicely. This is a quality build, there is even an O ring to keep the dottle scraper tight and the heft is surprising and welcome. This tamper is the size of a medium to large fountain pen.I would be curious to know what the crush/impact rating of the acrylic used as, if push came to shove, quite literally, this tamper could be used in the same manner as any tactical pen for hand to hand combat(blunt strike surface,no point/edge) In short, next time this is back in stock, get one! There is a reason they keep selling out.

Everyone's taste is subjective, I know, however, this one has my tastebuds a dancing' a buccaneer' s boogie. The Burley, Latakia and Cigar together will give you a broadside of strong, creamy goodness and Vitamin N... Give ye a go, be ye for high seas and adventure!
Stands & Pouches - 1790 English Tobacco Box German Silver with Eagle
Just what I needed.
As I found myself smoking more flake and mostly folding it. I began looking for a suitable way to carry it on the go outside of hauling the whole tin (if it came in one) around with me. This is exactly what I needed and once again Smoking Pipes has proffered the pipe smoking community with a solution for keeping ones flake mostly intact. Additionally, I (and I'm sure many others) appreciate the additional information on the "warning" sticker (rolling eyes).. I had done my own research and had found it completely safe to put my tobacco in it and most sceechingly strident "warnings" the sole domain of enviro-looney moonbats. Thank you for putting to rest the evey intrusive, parasitic nanny state's, bovine shtaco.

My Two Pounds on Sixpence
So.. let's break the ice, as some us may, in fact have to do to enjoy yet another GLP masterpiece outside. I really enjoy the Old London series and yet not a fan of lighter Virginia tobacco and often stick with the darker fare and seldom, if ever, smoke an aromatic... yet this lover of the dark leaf is under it's spell. What a great Christmas blend. I highly recommend it for a welcome change! (Edit) Near the bottom of my second tin that I have smoked out of my Country Gentleman Cob that I have dedicated to this wonderful concoction. So damn good it makes you want to dance a jig.!
