McClelland - Personal Reserve: Blackwoods Flake 50g
Top Notch Virginia
Blackwoods flake is an all time favorite. It is the first tobacco I smoked that made my mouth water from the natural sweetness. This flake, smoked slow and easy is bursting with tangy-sweet flavor...if you're a fan of Virginia Flakes, this is a must smoke.

CAO - Eileen's Dream 50g
An aromatic I enjoy
Generally I've been moving away from aromatics. I find them, while smelling wonderful, to be hot, unsatisfying, "tongue-biting" smokes. This is different. Sipped and nice and slow - I was surprised at just how cool it smoked. If you take your time you can really get the creme it mentions. I have smoked it as a "dessert" tobacco after some stronger tobaccos, and its a nice way to end an evening.

Mac Baren - HH Old Dark Fired 3.5oz
Steak in a Pipe
This is really fantastic stuff. Think traditional English, minus the latakia. A full, meaty, tasty smoke. Tin aroma is smokey, with a little BBQ going on - occasionally I catch a whiff of bacon. Sort of splits the difference between perhaps a "darker" Virginia and a heavy English blend. I ordered a pound after I worked through half the first tin. A flake dried for about 30 minutes, rubbed out, loaded up.....viola. If you just aren't a latakia fan, but don't want to sacrifice a full, flavorful smoke, get ye some of this.

Capstan - Flake Blue 1.75oz
Lives up to the hype
Having not tried the "old" versions, and being somewhat new to pipe smoking, I really thought there was no way this could live up to all the hype, and was just a well performed marketing scheme by this fine and esteemed internet establishment. But I tried it anyway. And its awesome. Thoroughly enjoyed an earthy, malty (as another reviewer put it) yet not overly heavy smoke. This could be an all day smoke for me.
