The smell from the tin is really promising but when smocked there is nothing but hot air. Completely lack of flavor and body.

A REAL TREASURE
Yes, a real treasure. Never tried Penzance so far, but i guess i do not need to having this one in my rotation. This is a serious, very complex blend, slightly sweet and tangy with earthy red Virginias playing an elegant role. Latakia is strong and very in the front but never overwhelming. Orientals are simply delicious and the soft touch of perique gives an added character to this blend. The nic-hit is mild, won't bite or get harsh whatsoever. Leaves almost no moisture but needs some relights. Ths is the choice for those quiet moments reserved just for you. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

G. L. Pease - The Virginia Cream 2oz
There´s something for everyone!!
This is a great tobacco. For me, this is not an aromatic in the typical way we know it. It´s refined, different, sophisticated. It has some vanilla undertones but is spicy at the same time; smokey at times but also sweet. This blend offers something for everyone. Never boring and always intriguing. Higly recommended!!

Cornell & Diehl - Lunchtime Blues 2oz
Very good blend!!
high quality tobaccos compose this nice blend. The orientals take the lead and give a sophisticated style to this tobacco. Very good for an after- lunch smoke or, if you want, for a relaxing evening smoke.

Cornell & Diehl - Five O'Clock Shadow 2oz
Excellent!!
This is one of the most flavorful tobaccos i´ve tried from Cornell and Diehl. Very smokey, fruity slightly sweet, this dark plug rubs out very easy, burns well and need few to no relights. i am not a big fan of dark fired kentucky but this one deserves a try!!

TOO MUCH MAPLE!!
Not a bad blend but there´s too much maple flavor to my taste. this is an enjoyable smoke for those craving for heavy cased aromatics. It has a good quality virginias though.

Cornell & Diehl - After Hours Flake 2oz
Tasty and Different!
Well done, C&D!!! When i popped this tin felt that rum aroma combined with the tangy and grassy notes from the virginias. Lovely!! this is a cool burning flake and IMO has a decent Nic punch to it. So, this tobacco is to be sipped to avoid the N kick. A very nice virginia flake and highly recommended!

McClelland - Ashton Revival: Pebblecut 50g
WOW!!
Now, this is one of the best tobaccos that i´ve tried lately. It is a complex and ever changing blend, where you feel the matured virginias shining and the perique co-starring the main role in this masterful blend. The aroma is almost floral at times from the katerini leaves. Sometimes tangy and sweet, sometimes spicy/floral. Deep and smooth smoke. In can ´t have enough of this and my tin is almost done in a pair of weeks!! If you are VaPer fan, MUST try this one!!

McClelland - Personal Reserve: Dark Star 50g
Virginia Wonderland
Opening this tin reminds me to Blackwoods Flake, but with less that fragant anisse aroma. Beautiful black flakes that need a good drying time (half an hour, at least). You better sip this stuff to avoid humidity and tongue bite. Deep and rich smooth flavors and aroma. Good flake but i prefer Blackwoods Flake much better.

McClelland - Red and Black 50g
Sweet and tasty virginias...
This are simply excellent tobaccos. You have at least two choices for your smoke. Rub and pack a red virginia flake, mix it with the dark stoved ones or choose only de dark flakes to fill in your pipe. Funny, different and awesome mix of tobaccos with different smoking experiences!! Highly recommended!!

Cornell & Diehl - Sunday Picnic 2oz
Everyday Picnic!
A very fragant and smooth smoke with the herbal and grassy flavors from the golden virginias. I twas expecting a more powerful interaction from the perique, but at least in this tin perique just acts as a very ocassional condiment. I just love this flake and with Embarcadero, from GL Pease, are those kind of tobaccos that i will keep on hand to enjoy! Highly recommended!!

Fantastic!!
I really can´t remember when i finished this tin. One day i opened it and found nothing inside!!! This is to say how fast and frecuent was my preference for this tobacco. It is really a fantastic flake. The red Virginias shine and a good pinch of izmir tobacco rounds and gives a touch of deep flavor and body to this great tobacco. Easy to smoke, if you sip it. I found the room note very pleasant. Plenty of flavor and very satisfiying!!

This is my VaPer!!
Delicious, sweet, tangy and plenty of flavor!. What else can i say?? one of the best VaPers on the market. Highly recommended!! If you are fan of Luxury Bullseye Flake, this one will conquer you from the first smoke. And gets better with some cellaring!!!

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Ennerdale Flake 50g
Not for everyone...
This is a very special tobacco. Not for everyone. If you don´t like the lakeland style tobaccos, stay away from it!!. Is very pungent and has lot of flavors from toppings, like vanilla and almond and, of course, that floral soapy taste that is typical from this tobaccos. My first smokes were strange, trying hard to find the flavors of the tobaccos. But after a month or so, this baccy changed dramatically and became less pungent and perfumey. The Virginias and burleys are top class tobaccos. And that´s the secret for this one: let it dry, put the tin opened apart for a month or more and it improves a lot!!. Recommended for all of those smokers that like this kind of tobacco.

My favorite aromatic
Yes, this is my favorite aromatic. Im not a big fan of aromatics, but this one ir a real winner!! A great quality tobacco, with a decent and not overwhelming top of chocolate and that little touch of lataka that makes a big difference with this one. Absolutely fantastic and with a great room note! Highly recommended!!

Dan Tobacco - Tordenskjold Virginia Slices 50g
Mild and Pleasant VaPer
As all the Dan Tobaccos, this is no exception. Excellent Virginias combined with just a touch of perique, which come and go during the smoke. Very mild and pleasant when you want something light and fresh during the morning or even just before the end of the day. A flake very easy to deal with. Burns slow and even and offers a cool and enjoyable smoke. I will buy it again!

Samuel Gawith - Best Brown Flake 50g
Oh my!!!!
Best Brown Flake is my preferred virginia flake over all those i´ve smoked up to now. This is a medium bodied, frangant and mellow smoke, with hints of anisse, cinnamon and hay. Needs a good time to dry if you want to experiment a smooth and delightful smoke. Never load your pipe right out of the tin!! Too moist for that!!. I put a pair of flakes at the oven for 10-12 minutes and get ready to go!. Fantastic smoke!!

I´m in love!!!
This is a real winner! This flake is a piece of art, beautifully structured. First time i tried it i thought it wasn´t for me. But got completely in love after i finished the second bowl of it!!. To me, this is not an aromatic. It´s just an excellent virginia flake with subtle hints of dried fruits.Very fragrant, no tongue bite at all even if you puff it hard; delivers a delicious room note and lefts a great aftertaste. Pretty decent in nicotine kick, but very satisfying. Highly recommended!!

Cornell & Diehl - Star of the East 2oz
Great Latakia smoke!
Bold and heavy in Latakia, but well balanced though. Very nice nuances delivered by the good combination of virginias and orientals. Much more enjoyable than Pirate Kake, that is so overwhelming in Latakia and completely monotone.

Dunhill - My Mixture 965 50g
Different but nice
Never tried this blend before and found it different. Being a lover of english blends, the absence of Virginias in this baccy is something strange for me but i find it very pleasant and enjoyable. Worth the try!!

Complex and delicious...
Not as complex as Chelsea Morning, this smoke delivers lots of nuances and flavors. It has some sweetness that i love!. Well balanced and with the right amount of perique that makes it very interesting. Very enjoyable smoke!! Matches perflectly with a strong cup of black coffee on the side!

Another great smoke!!!
Charing Cross is an awesome blend that stablishes a great dialogue between those great Pease´s virginias and latakia, while orientals sing wonderful notes from the background. I find this one not stronger or bolder than Blackpoint, just different. I think this is more balanced than BP. I love the lack of sweetness in Charing Cross!!!. A serious and great smoke!!

Samarra is a GREAT english blend. Don´t believe me, try it!!!! I can say with no doubts this one of the most fantastic english blends i´ve tried so far. It has something different; i guess the distinction comes from the virginias, that are sweet, silky and smooth; orientals playing a fantastic game with the latakia and some spicy from the perique that is really awesome. I also think this is a very undervaluated tobacco and deserves an special place in the cellar of every pipe smoker. Highly recommended!!!

I ordered a tin of this gem reading some reviews in this site. Once i tried it, i just can't stop filling my bowls with it. It is a GREAT blend, that is miles ahead of much of the well known and famous english blends on the market. For sure, this is going to be a classic!!!

Another great blend from Low Country!!!! At the tin wonderful creamy virginias greets you inviting to enjoy. The smoke has a subtle piquancy that is delicious and complements perfectly the marriage of virginias and oriental leafs. It is a cool, creamy and absolutely satisfiying smoke. This is a blend that shows you how to start loving perique!!

Full of flavor, well balanced and smooth and creamy smoke. As someone else said, this is a paradigm of an english blend. Highly recommended. I guess cellaring a pair of years of this one would be fantastic!!..

I´ve found this a very good blend. Surprises me that is very "smokable". It is complex, indeed, but very enjoyable and, as all blends of master Pease, very well balanced too. I´ll be smoking this one for special dates, after a good meal, at noon or at night. Reccomended to try something different.

Another GREAT virginias from McClelland!! I am realizing McClelland put out the best virginias available in the market, IMHO. From the tin, smells sweet and fantastic, with some anisse tones. This flake is absolutely enjoyable. Smooth, sweet and with some sour tones that makes it simply delicious!!!. The secret, let it dry a little bit before packing and smoking.

This is a great, great, great smoke!!!! Excellent virginias (one of the best i´ve tried so far) and an elegant and discrete ammount of Drama makes this blend a new favorite for me!! I regret i just bought an 2 oz tin. I need to get more of this, to enjoy every day and for the cellar. Try it, please!!

Simply Delicious!!!!
IMHO this is a greatly overlooked blend. Everybody talks about Westminster, Blackpoint or others from Greg, but this one deserves all our attention and worth a try. I am really surprised with the quality and smoothness of this blend. Believe it or not, THIS is one of those blends i was looking for. Delicious orientals well harmonized with a great and soft Latakia plays the main role and a sweet and smooth virginias greatly complement flavors. This is one to be enjoyed. Smokes cool and smooth, no matter if you puff it like crazy or seat and sip it softly and at low pace. WONDERFULL!!!.

This is another very good blend from Sutliff Private Stock. I´ve got impressed with the high quality of this blend. It deserves to be best rated and known. Burley tobacco makes the difference in the blend. Highly recommended!

I am presbiyerian!!
I just really love this stuff!!. Its well known fame has a great quality blend behind. There are few tobaccos that can expose the personality and body of this one. That`s why this mixture is one of my favorite tobaccos. If you didn`t try it yet, i strongly suggest you do it and order it now!!.

Fantastic smoke!!
This blend gives a superb smoke! Wonderful orientals and latakia leads the play. Cool and slow smoke makes you to seat, rest and enjoy!!! Great blend, highly recommended!!!

Samuel Gawith - Navy Flake 50g
Sweet, smooth smoke
This is a great tobacco. Virginias are always on the front while latakia gives a round and smoky flavor to it. It needs to dry properly, otherwise, you`ll get frustrated!!! Once aired, the smoke is very pleasant and smooth. Sweet virginias and a subtle latakia gives a creamy, enjoyable and high rewarded smoke. Will buy more of this stuff!!

Just the right amount of perique in it, to make a flake so enjoyable and smooth. I´ve been smoking this stuff the whole week and can´t have enough of it!!!. I´m loving it. Highly recommended!!!!

This is a great tobacco, well harmonized between virginias, perique and black cavendish. To be honest, i couldn´t feel that much the cavendish, but even so, virginias and perique are smooth and sweet enough to be enjoyed. I´ll be buying more of this goooooood tobacco, soon!!

Wonderful blend from The Master!!!
Smell at the tin is overwhelming but in a good sense. Is intriguing and sophisticated. Latakia and good orientals can be noticed very clearly. Charring light comes with a firm and strong latakia flavor and then, good virginias play with fragant and excelent orientals. Another great blend from GLP. Every latakia lover must try this one. Also, is very funny to play for a few moments with the plugs, previous to charge the bowl. GREAT BLEND!

Some tips about this blend
I ordered first 1 ounce of PP. It came in a pouch but not as crumble kake at all. It is more an irregular shag cut, but i suppose components of the blend are de same from the original recipe. I find the price a bit high for the quality. There are better blends for much less price than this one. May be it is the name and the fame :)

Seattle Pipe Club - Plum Pudding
Very satisfiying blend!
I am affraid the taste of the bulk blend of PP is different from the tin version (from Seattle Pipe Club). Nevertheless, this is a very good tobacco. Smells great at the pouch; the first lighting has a piquant taste that lasts a few seconds. Then, you can fell clearly sweetness of the cavendish. Flavors are well defined between latakia, orientals and virginias. IMHO, there is an unnoticeable ammout of perique on this. Very recommended anyway as an all day smoke.

Two Friends - English Chocolate 8oz
Delicious chocolate Virginias
I like this blend very much. To be honest, i can´t detect any latakia on this or is very faint to say the most. Just a great virginias masterly aromatized with a great and delicious touch of chocolate. Wife approved!!!. Highly recommended!

FVF is a wonderful tobacco. Great quality of Virginias. It has a creamy, nutty and delicious smoke that is cool with no tongue bite whatsoever. I should buy more of this for the cellar. I think this is going to be one of my go-to tobaccos very soon!!! I´m loving it!!!.

FANTASTIC AND DEEP ENGLISH BLEND!!
Now, this is an extraordinary english blend!! As a reviewer has said, a SERIOUS ENGLISH BLEND. At the tin this blend greets you with very deep and bodied latakia and orientals, and lightly sweet virginias. The smoke offers a lot of nuances and is plenty of flavors. Latakia and orientals are very powerful but never overwhelming, and are very well harmonized with great virginias. Delicious blend to smoke at relaxing moments an give this all the attention. COOPER deserves it!!!!. Highly recommended!!!!

Disappointed!!!!
After a chasing of almost five months, i finally could bought a pair of ounces of this stuff. I have had great expectations on MR. I bought in bulk so i don´t know if it has something to do with the quality of the tobacco (i guess not). Nice aroma upon opening the pouch; at fist charring light, perique greets you like a punch in your face. Indeed, for my taste this mixture is overwhelming in perique, poor in oriental/turkish, very shy in the virginias and also unnoticeable about the Latakia. So, i am really dissapointed about the very famous MISSISSIPPI RIVER. Wont buy it again...

WOW!!! Fantastic mild aromatic
Delicious apple smell upon opening the tin but more than that, very fragant and consistent virginias. Once lighted, Virginias take the leading voice and a subtle and fantastic apple scent come and go during the whole smoke. IMHO, i would say this is a very mild aromatic that fits perfectly for Virginia lovers. This easily could be an all day smoke. Fantastic blend, no more to say. Congrats,smokingpipes friends!!!!!

Love it or hate it?
This is a very special blend. Sometimes i love it but occasionally i really can´t go with it. I don´t know if it depends on the pipe i decide to smoke it, but there are days that i enjoy it very much, and other that i just prefer some other tobacco to smoke.

Discovering Virginias!!!!
Embarcadero was my first experience with "pure" virginias (well, it has also izmir tobacco on it). I have been smoking pipes since may of this year, and prefered basically the english mixtures so i am not get used to pure tobaccos yet. My fist bowl of Embarcadero left me in the middle of something but i did not loved it. Then, i´ve been giving new chances to this blend and i can say now that i really like it very much!!. It is not easy to engage with virginias for me, but thanks to this wonderful blend i will try some other virginias from now on. Very recommended!!

A deep journey to latakialand!!
Deep and dark colors from the tin, complemented with some bright leafs from orientals and virginias. Awesome and deep latakia flavors that catch you from the first puff. It is a good and strong latakia based mixture but Never overwhelming at all. Not for an all-day smoke but for a very special and personal moments being alone, just your pipe,you and this magnificent blend!!!! Highly recommended.

Two Friends - English Chocolate 2oz
Very pleasant blend!!
This English Chocolate makes honor to the name. Chocolate aromas are present as soon as you crack the tin, and then, during the whole smoke. Nevertheless, Latakia is playing a secondary role. Virginias are great, but IMHO, i miss a strong dose or Latakia for a more complex blend. Great blend anyway. Not an all day smoke but worth the try.

Delightful and pleasant smoke!
This is one of my to-go ones. My first flake so far and i must say i love it. As is wrote in the tin, DELICIOUSLY COOL. Burns cool and slow. I could spend more than an hour smoking this with almost none relights and never being bored of it. This one should be in the rotation of every pipe smoker who loves VaLat blends.

Too mild for me!!
Perfection is a good quality tobacco but too much on the mild side for me. If you are a Latakia lover then you will feel the lack of it in this mixture. Very plain and somehow boring at the end of the bowl.

Great Blend!!!!
i confess i was a bit scary about this MF because several reviews i`ve been reading. But i was greatly surprised with this tobacco. For me, it is a mild and high quality smoke, even for an all-day tobacco. Despite the tin says it has generous ammounts of Latakia, IMHO it does not have that much of it. I feel the orientals taking the starring role in this mixture (high quality ones!!) and the Latakia playing a secondary role. I really love Maltese Falcon and i will order more for sure. Very recommended, indeed!!

This is a great stuff!! Has the most fragant orientals i´ve ever smoked. Beautifully balanced with the creamy and smoky latakia and very good virginias!!! I will order more for the cellar very soon!!!

McClelland - Craftsbury: Frog Morton on the Bayou 50g
Sweet, pleasant smoke!!
IMHO this is the best version of Frog Morton´s series. Wonderful sweetness and perfectly balanced flavors make this tobacco one of my to-go ones.

Great, mild and flavorful smoke! It has the best orientals i've tried so far, which are the starring tobaccos on this blend.

One of my top three blends!!! Very high quality tobaccos wonderfuly harmonized! This is a lovely dancing between the latakia and orientals, and the subtle presence of virginias. You MUST try this one!!

FMAP is a good one for those looking for a very mild english blend. Ejoyable and even good for an all day smoke. Worth the try!
