McClelland - VBC - Vanilla Black Cavendish
VBC
I really like this. I have been smoking black cavendish tobacco for over a year now but smoking a pipe on and off for over 20 years. I was once strictly an english blend man. A good mild to medium black cavendish is for me now and this is one of the best.

Peter Stokkebye - PS701 Virginia
To mix
I bought this along with PS Burley at 50-50 ratio to get a carter hall taste. It seemed to work out.

Peter Stokkebye - Burley
I mix it
I bought this with ps virgini to mix 50-50. Tried to get a carter hall taste. It seemed to work. Really nice smoke.

Cornell & Diehl - Engine #99
meant to give it 4 stars
I was well pleased with this. I love pirate kake and this with the added odessa makes a great combo. I can taste the latakia. It isn't as heavy as pirate kake. Little bite.

Sutliff - B38 Dark Obsession
as good as decadence
Almost as good as dark decadence. Taste is much different. Not as sweet and I can really taste walnut. It is slight but there. It stays lit where as decadence has to be relit a lot. I can't really think of anything bad about this.

Sutliff - Match 20
fine stuff
Wanted to try the dunhill brand before reviewing this but couldn't wait. I have to say this is really good. Tastes great doesn't have a bite. For match this is really good.

F & K - Sterling Balkan
not so good
This is my first try of a balkan blend. Really didn't like. Has a real bite and very little taste or at least not a pleasing one. I plan to give the rest to my neighbor. He will smoke anything.

Newminster - No.52 Ultimate English
ultimate
This has to be my favorite english blend. Plan to order more soon. It leaves a nice taste of latakia in my mouth all day. Doesn't burn hot or bite.

Lane Limited - Hazelnut
Good stuff
I first tried this a decade or more ago then quit smoking for almost 6 years. When I came back I got this. I don't regret it. Only problem of a good thing is too much of it ruins it. Only down side is the taste isn't strong enough for me. Will buy more tho.

Sutliff - 526 - Old Professor
old favorite no more
I use to get this in the 90's when I started smoking a pipe. Or something with a similar name. I came back to it unfortunately. It doesn't have much of a taste and burns hot with a strong bite. Ageing it a few months cuts down on the bite and tastes a little better but not by much. Use to be a favorite but not anymore.

Lane Limited - TK-6
Good stuff
I've been looking for a good cherry tobacco. This fits the bill. Good taste of cherry. Goes well with a can of cherry cola. Burns to a fine ash. Doesn't get too hot and little to no bite.

Cornell & Diehl - Pirate Kake 16oz
excellent
I've been smoking english blends since the mid 90's. This is probably the best or 2nd best I've had. If you love latakia this is for you. It comes in a plug which I tore apart and put in an air tight jar, like the large ones sold on this site. It is very moist. I left the lid off for 2 hours and smokes fine now. Even at the full price it seems reasonable, so I will probably be buying more when I run out.

Captain Black - Dark 1.5oz
AWESOME!!!
I got a sleeve yesterday. I have smoked about 4 or more bowls. It is fuller than other captain blacks. It isn't too sweet. It kinda reminds me of dark decadence but not as sweet and doesn't have that sugary goop. It has little bit and can be smoked almost to a complete ash.

Sutliff - D61-Vanilla Royale
Age It
I smoked this as soon as I got it. It did smoke really hot so I put it in an air tight mason jar. After 2 weeks I tried it again. It smoked great. The heat was gone and it had a smooth silky taste to it. It wasn't as strong tasting as I hoped, but it does smell good. My best advice is to age it for at least 2 weeks. Otherwise you will burn the heck out of your tongue.
