Esoterica - Penzance 2oz
for the people who can't use a rating system properly...
This is to review the PRODUCT, not the service provided. On that note: Penzance is very unique blend that's worth picking up when you can find it. it always reminds me of BBQ when i smell the tin note. *Can you guys please delete the absurd "reviews" that have been posted on this day. whining like children should not ruin a product's rating..

Rattray's - 40 Virginia 100g
fantastic
This is a really good VA blend that burns all the way down and doesn't provide any bite. The subtle sweetness of the VA is great. this is easily an all day smoke for me. pick up a couple tins because this is going to age amazingly well!

Dunhill - Ready Rubbed 50g
I'm digging these re-releases
This is a great VA/Oriental. It's hard to pick out what fruit topping it is, but it's even more subtle than what's on "Three Year Matured". - both are great VA blends. This is a pretty solid all-day smoke that should age amazingly well! Can't wait to see what Dunhill brings back next.

Orlik - Golden Sliced 50g
Top 3
This is easily one of the better VA's out there. Never boring and never a bad time of the day to smoke this! no matter what pipe I choose to smoke it in it's always reliable.

Dunhill - Three Year Matured 50g
no bite here.
I never had the original but this is a solid blend of VA's. the fruit topping is very subtle and lets the tobacco shine. No bite, even if puffed at a higher cadence. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this blend ages.

Lane Limited - 1-Q
I can appreciate when an Aro doesn't gunk up my pipe
the leaf and burn quality is really good for this blend, but unfortunately for my palate there's really not much in the way of flavor. I get just hints here and there but more often than not, it's left me wanting.

Savinelli - Brunello Flake 100g
picture Orlik GS with a little something extra...
presentation and feel is very similar to OGS but there's a unique smell and taste to it, I'm assuming it's that Macedonian leaf? either way, it's great. If you're a fan of OGS, and most are, I'd highly recommend giving this blend a try!

Esoterica - Stonehaven 8oz
unique
this is probably the most unique tobacco I've had. I've tried many, many blends and have yet to run across anything remotely close to Stonehaven. this tobacco comes with some drying time for sure but it's worth it. it smells of chocolate in the bag. it's just a deep and complex smoke that is worth the hassle of finding it.

A & C Petersen - Escudo Navy Deluxe 50g
one of the better VaPers
If you smoke it fast it really doesn't reward you with anything special. that's probably why it didn't initially click with me years ago. but when you sip it, you're thoroughly rewarded with a slightly sweet and complex flavor. I have to highly disagree with the "high quality cigarette" review, but everyone's palate is different. try different draw cadences with your blends if you find that it's not smoking as nice as you expect, it just might help.

Germain - Brown Flake 50g
wow
I can see why this sells out so fast... truly one of the best Virginia flakes out there. It's jumped Union Square as my top VA.

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Bob's Chocolate Flake 50g
Where samuel Gawith's Chocolate flake falls short..
This one nails it. This is the better option of the two, in my opinion. The chocolate topping is really nice without over powering the tobacco and the same can be said for the Latakia - just a hint.

G. L. Pease - Sixpence 2oz
"Savory" is a good descriptor
I find this blend the only one out there that's similar to Kingfisher while still being it's own beast. I'm almost finished with my first tin and I've been blown away with every bowl since the first. Once this is back in stock I'll be sure to stockpile plenty in the cellar - this is going to age fantastically!
