G. L. Pease - Stonehenge Flake 2oz
Sleeper G&H blend from GL Peasw
With the recent scarcity of G&H tobaccos Stonehenge Flake is an excellent alternative. It’s spicy, creamy, sweet, yet smooth. It is steamed and pressed so the grassy haylike flavors one might expect from a Va isn’t there. Instead you get the dark apricot and molasses like flavors. There is a hint of Lakeland to be sure. Alas this blend is also out of stock as of April 2019. If you like G&H flakes, you will like Stonehenge.
War Horse - Green 1.75oz
Tastes even better after a year
This has a strong topping note of licorice/anise to me. It melds well into the natural flavors of the VaBurKFC blend. Delicious.
Lighters - Kiribi Kabuto Short Black Matte
Good less expensive alternative to an im Corona
It works very well. My only nit pick would be a clunky flint wheel(compared to an Old Boy, and the flame angle tends to leave a lot of soot on the lighter, and sometimes burns the fingers.
Samuel Gawith - Black XX 250g
Cut thin coins with a cigar cutter, rub it out, dry it to just before crispy, smoke. I was rewarded with a cool, sweet, tasty smoke.
McClelland - 2020 - Matured Cake Mixture
Nice and mellow
Rubbed out this Flake smokes cool and dry. The Latakia is barely there, allowing the Virginia’s and Orientals to come through. The second half of the bowl is better than the first half in my experience.
F & K - Lancer Slices
Tasty and easy smoking
Smokes cool and dry. Midbowl the Lat evens out and the Va becomes more evident. Buy the 500g bag to ensure you get unmolested flakes.
Captain Black - Grape 12oz
I was expecting a goopy, syrupy, wet, glycol laden Tobacco. Instead it is a dry, colorful tobacco that smells of grape soda/grape candy from your youth. Packs nicely, smokes cool and dry. Tastes different from the tin note, and the flavoring is just strong enough to not overpower the Virginias and Burley.
