Peter Heinrichs - Dark Strong Flake 200g
Really good stuff!!!
I usually smoke McClelland Flake, usually Dark Navy Flake or Virginia /Perique. I tried this stuff on a whim and because of its discounted price point and reviews. I figured for $24, what the heck. Great tin aroma at first. Not quite the distinct aromas of McClelland's flake, but very nice aroma indeed with a a good mixture of golden Virginias and Kentucky. There is also a nice hint of licorice, which I am fond of. First pipe was easy to light and had some very distinct aromas of licorice, but not overpowering. Halfway through the bowl, the Kentucky really kicked in with a nice spicy kick to it. The tecture of the tobacco is sliced cake and each flake folds nicely into my bowl. Not too wet and not to dry. Needless to say, I bought 5 more cans of this stuff, and plan on buying another 5. Should be even better in a couple of years.
