Acid - Blondie
Smelled like herbal dirt...
When I first got the cigar I gave it a whiff and to me it smelled pretty awful, like herbs on dirt. I kept putting the cigar down and picking it up because the more I smelled it the more complex the smell came to be. It became more inviting as the week went on until finally the cigar smelled sweet yet earthy. I lit it up and the first few puffs were cool and herbal but still had a tobacco taste. The sweetened cap enhanced the experience and brought an extra touch of sweetness to bring out the herbal flavors. The flavors are subtle so you still know you’re smoking a cigar but it doesn’t detract from the experience. Overall, I can’t believe I’ve waited this long to try an Acid cigar. The draw was perfect, the taste was so good I smoked it down to the nub. It produced nice white clouds and overall a great experience.

Maybe it's the change in the weather..
but I recently felt that I should give latakia another try (I swore off of it a while back and haven't had the nose for it till recently). I was a little apprehensive of the aroma when I received this in the mail as I could smell the bbq smokey smell already but I could also pick up hints of sweetness that didn't force me to put it down. I loaded up my pipe and fired it up. It packed great, and lit well. I was surprised at how smooth and cool the smoke was. The presence of latakia wasn't overwhelming for me and there was enough sweetness to keep me interested. I found myself really puffing away at this and before I knew it I finished my bowl. I've had about 3 or so bowls and it's been consistent each smoke.

Cornell & Diehl - Bourbon Bleu 2oz
Not impressed
Got this as a sample. The first bowl was ok. Got a lot of peppery almost bacon taste and smell and remained throughout the bowl. Wasn't satisfied or dissatisfied as I like C&D and am willing to give them a chance. Put the sample away for a good month and haven't thought about it till today. Decided to give it another go. The smell was the same bacony/pepper but lighting it up just left me with stinging smoke to the eyes and not much in the flavor department. More like hot smoke and the smell wasn't good either. I ended up getting about halfway through the bowl and gave up on it. I'll probably put this back on the shelf for a while but that's about it. I hope the sample wasn't representative of a regular tin. I smoked both bowls in a cob.

Lane Limited - Buttered Rum
Pleasant
It's a pleasant smoke. I got this as a free sample from another order and I've found myself coming back to this pretty consistently. Usually when I'm smoking this it's because I'm studying for a class. It doesn't take too much focus, stays lit, and is light and pleasant and buttery. I don't get too much rum which is fine for me because I don't the alcohol cased tobaccos too much.

Sutliff - Frosty Mint
They aren't kidding..
When they say this is minty. From the first puff all through the bowl, it stays minty. mid way and down I sense the hint of chocolate but it's barely there. It's incredibly refreshing for me and unlike any other tobacco I've tried really. I'll be sure to make room on the shelf for this one. No bite from this and found myself smoking 2 bowls back to back which I rarely do. Pair it with some iced tea.

Cornell & Diehl - Virginia Flake
Great
I don't have anything bad to say about this tobacco. Similar to Lane's 125th. I like the chip/flake aspect of this. Packs easily and came perfectly dry to smoke. No relights with this and smoked dry and cool all the way to the bottom, even with my fast puffing. The aroma is oats, grass, and sweet hay. It's a very mild blend and it leaves an oat taste in your mouth that's mild and leaves you wanting more. Great mild blend for an all day smoke. And it's very affordable.

Yum!
my first interaction with a flake. The smell is slightly fruity/grassy with honey. It almost smells like an aromatic but it isn't. Reminds me of a sweet summer smell. It smelled so good you almost want to eat it. Again, for my first time ever packing a flake, it packed and rubbed out easily to put a little kindling on top and fired right up. I only had to relight once or twice the whole bowl. It has a sweet grassy aroma, burned dry and cool, and overall was one of the better experiences I've had so far with pipe tobacco. Can't wait to try it again. I did let it dry out for an hour or two before packing and did not get any bite. I'll definitely be ordering this in bulk.

Let it sit on your shelf
It's good. The first bowl wasn't, I was actually disappointed. It smells fresh and zesty and citrusy. I felt it came very moist and got bad tongue bite on the first bowl. I tried it last night after leaving it on my shelf for a few weeks and even added a small pinch of some drier blending Virginia I've had for a while and it seemed to help. I still felt it was too moist even after letting it set out for a while before packing but I didn't get a bite this time and was able to get the zesty citrus flavor and sweet aroma by sipping slowly.

Stands & Pouches - Economy Folding Pipe Stand
It's like they're giving these away
I picked up 2 in my last order because I couldn't believe the price. I have one in black that is identical and I paid 4 or 5 dollars for it. It's great for when I'm setting up for a smoke or need to put the pipe down since none of my pipes sit.

Stands & Pouches - Tobacco Pouch Humidifier
Perfect
Simple instructions right on the humidifier. I soaked mine for about 30 minutes in cold water and has really refreshed my tobacco. I use these for my jarred tobacco and they work great. I bought enough for one jar I have plus a few extras to have around.

Cornell & Diehl - Autumn Evening 2oz
Pretty Good
I'm pretty new to tobacco pipes and this is the first time I've tried Cornell and Diehl so take my review with a grain of salt. the tin aroma was amazing. I opened the tin and left it open to dry the tobacco a bit before I packed it. It was not overly moist and lit well and stayed lit. I did not wait too long because I was too excited to try this. I was a bit underwhelmed with how much I did not get the same syrup/maple smell or taste during the smoke that I was expecting based on the aroma of maple syrup that took over my kitchen area from the open tin. I smoked 2 bowls and the 2nd bowl tasted better than the first. So I'm thinking it will only improve over time. Definitely sip this as it will bite if you puff too quick. The smoke was pleasant though and did have a sweet syrup smell, just not as much as I expected based on the maple syrup pancake to the face I got when I first opened the tin. I've tried other aromatics that had much more flavor. I definitely don't hate this and may update my review once I've had more time to leave the tin on the shelf and/or have a few more bowls. Overall it's mild and good after a long day when all I want to do is come home and relax. I'll definitely keep a tin of this around.
