Been a long time since I smoked captain black. It’s like meeting up with a long forgotten friend. Everything about captain black brings me back to great memories and I love sitting on my porch smoking it.

Yuck!
Pouch note smells like cigarette tobacco. Tastes like smoking a camel. Then about half way through it tastes like cigarette ashes. Nasty tobacco. Might be a RYO instead of pipe tobacco.

The way an arro is supposed to be
Wow! Where has this been hiding? The tin note is what I been looking for the taste is eloquent with a touch of vanilla and carmel. The burely, cavendish, and bright Virginia is well balanced. Smooth nutty creamy vanilla/carmel taste from start to finish. Need to stock up on this.

Not sure at first?
Bought this on a recommendation I have never really found a cherry arro that did not taste like cheap cherry cough syrup. The tin note is great. When I lit it the taste was just like the tin note but better. They say cherry and chocolate. I'm saying cherry and light hint of vanilla with chocolate. The after taste is great too and zero bite. Buying this again.

Very surprised
Not a fan of the regular sir Walter. But this is a very pleasant surprise. The pouch note is that of licorice. The flavor is definitely burley and the liquors do come through. Very pleasant smoke will be buying more.

Says it's a burley. I'm not getting it. An ashtray has better flavor.

Opened the tin and it had a very pleasant tin note. great right out of the tin. This has a very medium body of earth notes with a rich smokey taste. Glad to have it in my rotation.

Sweet honey and vanilla
This is a balanced blend of Burlys, Virginias, and black cavendish. I am not a big fan of Burlys. But this is one in my rotation now. When you pop the tin open you get a vanilla honey smell. It is a bit sticky too. I was surprised at how well this smokes right out of the tin.

I enjoy this captain black blend best by far. Even when I buy something else I always go back to Captain Black Royal.
