Low Country - Edisto 2oz
Instant Classic
I feel like the flavor strength is above medium. There is a sweetness that hits just right in my opinion, not syrupy but there and natural. Tangy, fruity, with no bite but there is a slight spiciness that only adds to its appeal.
G. L. Pease - Windjammer 2oz
More Pease
G L Pease always hits his mark but this one is phenomenal! If Virginia and Perique are your thing don’t miss out on this. I keep finding myself picking this over my other favorites.
Peterson - Royal Yacht 50g
Excellent Virginia
An excellent Virginia with plenty of strength and flavor. Whatever the addition to the leaf is, it does not detract from the tobacco. This is a satisfying smoke with deep rich flavor. It burns cool with no bite. Lived up to its name and my expectation. It's worth picking up a tin.
G. L. Pease - Fillmore 2oz
Extremely Well Done Blend
An extremely well done balanced blend. The slight incense from the tiniest hint of latakia in this blend really does something great for the flavor profile. The Virginias and Perique are deep and flavorful. Packs well and burns cool. It has a nice pepperiness as well.
Cornell & Diehl - Shandygaff
Interesting and Great
An interesting and really great tasting blend. Shandygaff's salty quality is something unique and something that works well. The Burley, Orientals and Perique, are well balanced. Nicotine wise it is satisfying, medium in strength and could be an all day blend.
Savinelli - Janus 2oz
Antique
This tobacco is really excellent and I would put money on it being phenomenal with some age. Janus is a little sweet, floral, leathery, and musty. The tobacco truly does posses a unique-antique quality. Very well balanced and flavorful.
St. Bruno - Ready Rubbed 1.75oz
Staple as of Late
St. Bruno Ready Rubbed is slightly sweet, tangy and excellent. Not sure why it is categorized as an aromatic. The leaf seems to be of quality. The Dark Fired and Virgina are well balanced. It is a great tobacco that has stood the test of time, with good reason.
Cornell & Diehl - Morley's Best
Well Balanced
This is really a fantastic blend. The components are well balanced, they play off of one another very well. Satisfying and tasty.
Five Brothers - Five Brothers 1.25oz
Vintage
This is a surprisingly deep and rich tobacco. It is definitely stout. My first impression was that it was an old school blend. After learning that it has been around since the late 1800s the vintage feeling I got from the tobacco made sense. A really satisfying and tasty burly tobacco. It's Earth, nutty and maybe a little sweet but not in a topping or casing way. If burly is your thing by all means give it a go.
Erinmore - Erinmore Flake 50g
Quality Components
I used to smoke this daily and loved it. I had not had a tin of the STG version until recently. It is still a really good flake and the component tobaccos are high quality but it is missing something the pevious version had.
Cornell & Diehl - Sunday Picnic 2oz
Well Balanced and Excellent
The description "delicious and memorable flake" is spot on. I have only had this with some age on it and I don't know how much age it has but it is phenomenal. The orientals really add something to this blend. It is a well balanced flake that allows all of its components to shine and the component tobacco are of excellent quality.
Peterson - Elizabethan Mixture 50g
All around great Va/Per
Elizabethan is just a great Va/Per. It is well balanced, flavorful and consistent. I was terribly let down when Dunhill pulled their pipe tobaccos off of the market and savored what I had cellared of this tobacco. Upon its return I can say with confidence it is the same tobacco that it was before it was discontinued. It will always have a place in my rotation. This mixture ages very well but a fresh tin still has plenty to offer. Excellent morning smoke that pairs very well with black coffee.
Amphora - Kentucky Blend 1.75oz
Excellent
This blend is packed with flavor, excellent flavor at that. I was instantly hooked on this tobacco, I can't seem to get enough. I find myself thinking about this blend when I am smoking others and can't wait to finish so that I can light up another bowl of this. It just hits all the marks for me, I would buy it by the pound if I could.
