Sillem's - Linea Epoque Antique 3.5oz
Fantastic!
If you like other German made aromatics such as Solani, you'll love this blend. It is topped fairly heavy so if you like tobacco dry you'll want to dry it some. It smoked just fine for me right out of the tin with a couple relites. This mixture is about 60% black cavendish and is very smooth and lite. It gives off a wonderful aroma to the passerby. There is a pleasant taste of vanilla cappuccino all the way through the bowl. A nice aromatic!

Sweet Pleasure
I opened two tins of this about eight months back and put it in an airtight jar. I was in the mood for Virginia Flake so I was trying to decide between trying this or smoking some well aged McClelland #27 Virginia Flake. I decided to try this because I knew the other was good. Since I was thinking of smoking the #27 my expectations were not very high. I was pleasantly surprised at the natural tasting sweetness of this blend. I enjoyed a cool dry smoke and found myself in deep thought as my mind drifted off in relaxation. This was the most enjoyable bowl I've smoked in the last couple weeks. This is not an Aromatic at all from what I can tell, just good natural sweetness. It took me about forty minutes to smoke and I still had to dump nearly half the bowl because I ran out of time. I'll review this again in the future when I've had a chance to smoke more of it, but it is fantastic as far as I'm concerned right now.

St. Bruno - Flake 1.75oz
Yes, Aromatic
I have smoked the ready rubbed off and on in the past, but this is my first time trying the flake. There is a very pleasant room note with this tobacco. As far as the taste there is a small amount of sweetness, a little spiciness and a taste that reminds me of figs. The strength is middle of the road and is not too strong to smoke it often. I think I may like the flake a little more than the ready rubbed. This is what an Aromatic should be, it's not overly topped but still smells good. The light topping does not interfere with the tobacco taste at all. I coud smoke this all the time but at almost $16.00 for a 1.75 ounce tin it is a little uneconomical.

Rattray's - Bagpiper's Dream 100g
Pleasant Aromatic
My first impression of this is the tin note. There is a strong smell of Cognac in the tin note. When I loaded my pipe (a Rattray's Meerschaum lined 9mm filter pipe), I notice there are little Cavendish filled coins mixed in the tobacco. When smoked the topping is at the front with a little citrus sweetness in the background. The Cognac topping is very pleasant and leaves a nice smelling room note. Although somewhat heavily topped the tobacco was not too wet for me. I did have it in a mason jar about a year before smoking. If you are one of those folks that likes your tobacco really dry, you may want to dry it a bit. I detected no harshness or bite at all right down to the bottom of the bowl. This is a nice, mild and relaxing smoke with a pleasant topping.

Surprise, surprise
I usually smoke flake when I smoke Virginia. This is really good! A nice citrus note and good natural sweetness. I'm going to buy some more!
