War Horse - Bar 1.75oz
What????
This is like nothing else on earth! I don’t care for aromatics and usually smoke VaPer’s but, damn is this good! Flavor is a vanilla, almond, cherry with some cocoa going on. It’s a total assault on your taste buds! Have gone through around 8 tins so far. Tobacco is what you taste but what ever the topping is just happens to be genius!

Dunhill - Ye Olde Signe 50g
Good but not great
Mechanically, like royal yacht it is a set it and forget it smoke. It’s just a good solid smoke, no crazy hints of dried daffodils, freshly dug hole or stewed whatever. Just a straight forward all around good Va smoke!

G. L. Pease - Sixpence 2oz
Different in a good way
When you crack the tin, the first thing you get is a cognac/grape wine note. It does carry over into the flavor when smoked but really adds to the profile! Not your standard KyVaPer and in this case that is a good thing!

Savinelli - Doblone d'Oro 100g
Damn!
This stuff is amazing! Don’t get the whole fistfight for who is in the lead with this one unlike others of this category, no one tobacco takes the lead yet you can easily pick out each component. Well balanced and tasty as hell!

Three Nuns - Three Nuns Yellow 1.75oz
Better than expected
Probably one of the best straight Va’s I’ve tried. Usually they tend to be a one trick pony but this one has real depth and layers to each of the standard Va’s flavor profile. Burns great and tastes good

Three Nuns - Three Nuns Green 1.75oz
Very good
Having never smoked the original, I can only base this on its stand alone merits. It’s a fine tobacco in its own rite! Easy to handle, easy to rub out and burns very well. Have read other reviews that say the DF KY is way foreword but I don’t really get that, try some Pease Cumberland and you will understand. Good sweet Va flavor with the DF Ky second and very minor Per appearance. Overall very tasty and well behaved!!

Cornell & Diehl - Kajun Kake 2oz
Awesome!
The only thing that struck me while smoking the first bowl was, if Guinness made a pipe tobacco this is what it would taste like! Not that it tastes like an extra stout beer but it has a lot of the same flavor profile. Hints of coco, molasses, coffee, a slight wine sourness, peat and lightly sweet. C&D has converted this guy to status of their biggest fan!

Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Morning 2oz
Pretty damn good
Have smoked a good 8 tins of this stuff, didn’t find the perique as overwhelming as some have said. Great flavor of just tobacco! Telegraph hill has more of a perique punch, in my opinion. Very well done none the less!

Dunhill - Dark Flake 50g
Rich
This stuff is full flavor! Not too sweet and has a dark molasses taste. Burns well and ages even better.

G. L. Pease - Fillmore 2oz
Tasty and refined
First sniff of newly opened tin you get the expected red VA and perique notes but I detect a hint of Latakia smokiness which isn’t mentioned as being in it. Doesn’t really matter but does round out the flavor and isn’t really noticed when smoking. Overall a very good smoke! Reminds me of a refined Dunhills dark flake. Update- put this stuff into a large bowl instead of the Sav 701 size bowl and oh man can you taste the Latakia! Still not a bad thing.....just unexpected.

Five Brothers - Five Brothers 1.25oz
It is what it is!
Gave this one 5 just because of what it is and not what I expected or what I wanted it to be. Pure burley in flavor and strength! Enough already said about burning properties so, if you’re a burley fan give it a try

G. L. Pease - Telegraph Hill 2oz
Really good
As a smoke, low maintenance. Burns well with little attention. Virginia’s have a sweet/sour thing going on with some spice from the perique, overall a very good tobacco flavor.
