Cornell & Diehl - Constellation
On Hand at All Times
One of my absolute favorites. A lovely, hearty smoke with a wonderful aroma, I make sure to always have Constellation with me. Burns nice through the whole bowl. I agree with the previous review that after smoking them side by side, I much prefer Constellation to Star of the East. Had a nicer moisture content, smoked smoother, and just better flavor and aroma. I'll happily pack bowls of Constellation all day long. Give it a try!
Cornell & Diehl - Pirate Kake 2oz
Comes off rather bland
Pirate Kake is kind of a one note smoke; it doesn't really seem to have any complexity to it. I agree with the previous reviews that it is rather linear and lacks balance, but if you're looking at Pirate Kake like I was, it's because you wanted that lack of balance; I wanted as much Latakia as possible. The cake itself has that delicious campfire aroma to it, but it doesn't seem to come out as much in the bowl. The flavor and aroma don't have that intoxicating factor that blends like Nightcap or Constellation have. It doesn't do anything that would keep me coming back to it. It does stay lit well. If you're looking for a Latakia blend that sings just one note and sticks to it, Pirate Kake may be right for you.
