Mc Barens made it again
Based on my limited experience Only can say Mc Barens didn't let us down,similarly to other Amphora offerings this Amphora Virginia has incredibly good price/quality ratio.Medium strength well burning Virginia,perhaps something like between Capstan Gold,&Blue.And as with all Amphoras this may benefit from some 15-30 min drying time prior to smoke,

My first impressions were good enough,now it remains to be seen how long the achieved shine will last,though I have a reason to believe to get the most out of this product it might advisable to have a wheel buffer,,nonetheless this seems be way more efficient than a regular soft carnauba wax.

Lane Limited - Ready Rubbed 1.5oz
Good but,
this is based on my first try of this baccy, while I find the taste, being smooth,light and has hints of cocoa and molasses the meantime I've come to a realisation, to my surprice this has a tendency to bite Am doing something wrong?Perhaps I ought to have dry this more prior to smoke, this baccy has obviously high PC contents,as usual when smoking Burley forward blends I have hardly encountered any biting issues, let take the Carter Hall to compare with which I had much better experience.Nevertheless,this Lane tastes great no doubt and it deserves second change

St. Bruno - Ready Rubbed 1.75oz
British Staple
I find some faint similarities with Old Gowrie by Rattrays, although this has more nic, and no perique, light floral topping is present with some fruity raisiny notes,and of course Dark Fired Kentucky provides some additional depth and strength to this blend, on my experience this tobacco benefits from some airing prior to smoke and has to be smoked slowly in order to avoid possibly bite, nicotine is solid medium,for convenience sake I prefer RR version over the flake,Both are equally good stuff. moreover, due to being somewhat challenging tobacco and then, arguably I wouldn't recommend this to brand new smokers.S Bruno is a genuine British classic being in production since 1905 .Today This is manufactured by McBarens and they do this very well as expected.quality is top-notch.

Sail - Regular (Yellow) 1.5oz
Unterestimated and long forgotten blend
Well my assessement for this baccy is seen in the title of this short review,for price I consider this tobacco very nice and delightful, has medium ribbon cut,and since this comes on the moist side its beneficial if its left aired prior to smoke.Yet take it slow otherwise it may cause some bite.In my Mind this Sail shares tasteprofile similar to Amphora brown but has no added Kentucky and the addition of orientals in this tobacco is made in lesser quantity, briefly,should I say a tamed down version of Amphora, yet think I can find some similarities with Carter Hall Tobacco,although the cut is complet different.Has mild to medium strenght and can be considered as a nice all day tobacco Availability:despite the fact this blend has European roots,you can't find it outside of Netherlands from where it originates, and I've been told is not widely available even in the in the States, but happily You can find it here at Smokingpipes at reasonable price. Mac Baren - HH Old Dark Fired 1.75oz

as like with Solani Aged Burley I do prefer enjoying this Dark Fired mostly like after dinner smoke very nice indeed and has lighter in nic content in comparison to Irish Flake by Peterson, with which similarities in taste are obvious, though ODF is perhaps more woodsy and smoother. Top-notch quality,becoming a classic in todays pipe tobacco world. need some relights especially when smoked in folded form.

Yep,it seems this contains something more than just a plain mineral oil pretty effective giving more lustre than plain oil,has light scent to it,but remember wipe the stem carefully before you put the pipe in your mouth otherwise you will end up with obsidian coated lips even alcohol or tooth past wouldnt help you gettin rid of this oil feel on your lips, so it'll last at least one day until it goes away,,

Finally I've found quality ones
I seldom use bites with my pipes but when I do I'm definitely looking for quality ones and those chinese offerings on Ebay are not comparable to these B.J Long products, I like these fit much tighter and ain't such bulky as those cheaper ones, This is quality brand product.

Amphora - Original Blend 1.75oz
Classic European OTC Blend
Beforedays I was only familiar with Amphora Full and the Black one,both of which I did found too much appealing,considering those being a bit too aromatic fruity and sweet to my liking.Nevertheless perhaps I shall give em a try once again,since those two along with this Original brown one apparently improve very much if one gives them a some drying/airing time time prior to smoking,This same happened me with this Amphora Brown Original,for first time,I disliked it but after finding a proper approach to it(smokin it on the dryer side)this is becoming one of my everydays favorite,its a pretty comlex mixutre,med streght blend and should be enjoyed slowly otherwise it turns harsh,Yet this may be a good starter blend to one who wanna introduce himself to non-aromatics,since this has only very light toppings in it, mostly I taste Burleys along with some of the spiciness from orientals supplemented with K-Dark Fired yet smoothed out with some light cavendish tobacco(the cavendish here ain't the black one) this Brown org is Not available at every tobacconist in Europe but happily you can have it right here at smokingpipes.com at quite a reasonable price,

McClelland - Grand Orientals: Drama Reserve 50g
Spicy and light
Well, I got some truble in definition of this tobacco,its mildish,spicy,mild-medium in nicotine,comes on the dryer side out of tin,as stated before by other reviewers,this should be sipped slowly,there is something weird in this tobacco,but still I cant definite what it would be.In Summ nice,but perhaps I'would not order this more,at least for the time being.

McClelland - Grand Orientals: Classic Samsun 50g

well,this was a total bang out,surpricingly,smooth,clean and fragrant tobacco,perfect moisture,nice ribbon cut-and No Bitey whatsoever.So far this might be the best pipe tobacco I ever came across.I was informed by my Bulgarian fried that many Macedonian and Turkish tobaccos are very high quality if properly processed,and this is a live proof of that statement.Unfortunately we here in Europe don't have no alternative to this very tobacco at the moment,nevertheless I'm very happy The Smokingpipes offers this wonderful tobacco to us. Definitely worth buying even only one tin at a time.Shall buy this and other Mc Clellands Grand Orientals in the future again.Thank You SmokingPipes.

Orlik - Dark Strong Kentucky 50g
Nice and Solid
First off,I was a bit scary of this,thinking its being too strong and punchy to my likings,but it turned to be opposite, Very nice,mellow and bold mixture, there is something similair tastewise with their Golden Sliced,perhaps same sort of virginas were used with some dark fired Kentucky addition+a hint of liqurice toppings?its not too storng in nicotine and I do prefer Orlik DSK to the Mc Barens HH Old Dark fired,the blend which I find more earthy and higher in Nicotine.Yet Good thing we can have this blend here at Smokingpipes,since in Eu its not available at any tobaccoshop.

Boy,I was supriced with this tobacco,offers a good value and nice mild-med strenght with very good and descent burning qualities,this is one to go tobacco while working or driving ecxetera, unfortunately we in europe dont have this available but Smokingpipes have and at very affordable price,somehow I'd think I will reoreder this in the future,very pleased with this shop,with their assortiment,quick order processing and very competetive shipping rates,my best tobacconist so far.Lots of Thanks
