Cornell & Diehl - Sansepolcro 2oz
Meh
Not what I was expecting at all. No discernable flavor or scent. Same old boring Virginia. Ordered 3 tins, sending 2 back.

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Kendal Dark Vintage Cut
Excellent Virginia
Tastes and smells really nice. Shag cut burns quickly but not bitter or biting. Only complaint I have is that the regular and the so-called Vintage Cut are EXACTLY the same shag cut. I ordered both thinking I would mix them together. I contacted SP about this and they said yes it is the same thing. So they gave me a store credit.

Have to Agree with Trevor O.
Truly exquisite smoke. I love Latakia, even smoking it by itself. My go to has always been Mississippi Mud. This stuff is now replacing it as my #1.

Mac Baren - Burley: London Blend 3.5oz
Superb in Every Way!
Best darn Burley I've ever smoked, and I've smoked plenty! If the tin note doesn't bowl you over with drooling anticipation, then I dare say you are a lost cause. I thought I was completely satisfied with Milan's Hillman blend. Then I saw this and pulled the big trigger. Then I let it sit while I finished the Hillman. As soon as I popped open this tin, I was smacking myself in the head. This stuff is rich tasting all the way to the bottom of the bowl. One light kept it going with minimal puffing. Even the moisture content is perfect. I'd give it 10 stars if I could! This is going to the top of my list immediately!

Cornell & Diehl - Habana Daydream 2oz
Delicioso!
Saw this in the GPSS Facebook group and I had never heard of it before. Decided to give it a try and am so glad I did! Tin note is wonderful and taste is equally good. Really hits the spot when I want a good English that's light on the Latakia and Perique, yet flavorful from the Cavendish and cigar leaf. The moisture level is perfect right out of the tin and requires no drying and therefore no relights if packed properly. I prefer a ribbon cut over any other, so this checks all the right boxes. Give it a try!

Amphora - Special Reserve Black Cavendish 1.75oz
Very satisfying!
I used to smoke the original Douwe Egbert's. The remakes are not good at all. This particular blend didn't exist back then, but thought I'd give it a try. It's very mild and quite tasty! Just ordered another pouch. Even mixed well with a bit of Latakia as an alternative. No bite at all.

Amphora - Full Aroma 1.75oz
Crap!
don't know what the other reviewers ate smoking, but this stuff belongs down the toilet. It's not even close to the original Douwe Egbert's. I should have known just by the way the cut is different. Thank goodness it was cheap. And the same goes fo... r the "Original". Even a drug store should be ashamed to carry this!

Samuel Gawith - Chocolate Flake 8oz
Very Disappointed
Was hoping for some chocolate taste or at least a hint of chocolate aroma. Unfortunately it has neither. It's like smoking hot air. No more aromatics for me!

Mac Baren - HH Old Dark Fired 1.75oz
The Real Deal!
Love this stuff. Top of the rotation list every time. Smokey, tasty, stays lit, needs no drying time, no bite, no complaints at all. Always keep a full tin ready to jar. No difference noticeable between the tin and the ready rubbed. Simply delicious!

Sutliff - Moroccan Spice 1.5oz
Disappointed
Pulled the plug on this because it sounded interesting. Not a big fan of aros, and this didn't change my husband's opinion. He really wanted to like it. I was looking forward to a spicy aroma. Tin note is light, not really alluring as one might think based on the name and tin art, which leads one to think of the spices trade of the Orient. For now, at least it doesn't have that sickening artificial sweetness that ruins aros. This is actually the complete opposite, meaning it's kind of bland. Maybe some age will help.

Hearth & Home - Magnum Opus 1.75oz
Not sure...
First off, it seems that nearly every review I read about most English blends talks about plums, figs, dried fruit and bread. I'd love to know how this works. They all taste and smell the same to me, and none give me a hint of any fruit. Even Plum Pudding gives me nothing but Latakia. This is just another Latakia forward blend to me. Even the tin note is Latakia. It's dry, almost crispy out of the tin. On the plus side it doesn't bite at all. It's mild, and I guess it can be an all day smoke for that reason alone. Maybe my taste buds or palate is fried. Nightcap did nothing for me either. Fortunately, I love Latakia, otherwise I'd probably dump this out in the trash. The only blend I've ever had that had a great smell and taste was Frog Morton in the Cellar. Magnum Opus? I don't think so. Closer to a rough draft. I'll keep it jarred for a while and revisit it sometime. For now, I'll go back to the other dozen jars of Englishes I have. Or maybe I'll just buy some real dried fruit and eat it.

Cult - Blood Red Moon 50g
Awesome! Buying more!
Figured it was just hype, but this literally the first time in over 45 years that my husband has smoked a cherry tobacco that has ZERO BITE! He's not a heavy puffer. He has tried tons of different blends of all kinds. Even the blend called No Bite Delight had some bite. But this was truly amazing. He smoked his first 2 bowls back to back with no issues, few relights, and great taste with billows of smoke. Going to stock up on this now before it disappears! A DEFINITE BUY!
