G. L. Pease - JackKnife Plug 8oz
Nearly perfect tobacco
I really like this blend. First of all, the plug is the perfect way to present these tobaccos. It's so heavy, rich, a journey just to smell. *Note: blooms more than any other tobacco; lots of beautiful crystallization* With that, this is one of my favorite blends. I like to cut it like shag thin flakes, super flavorful in the bowl. The golden Virginia is beautiful and sweet. It kinda ferments with the heavy duty dark-fired Kentucky. The end result is wonderfully rich tobacco with notes of rich grains and syrup. I will say it is very smokey. Even with age it is one of the smokiest tobacco blends I enjoy, although it is so rich and tasty I don't mind. This is the right kind of stuff!

Warped - Cloud Hopper 2oz
Feels halfway between a nice cigar and pipe tobacco
I've been smoking this blend since it first came out. It has taken me a long time to develop my thoughts on this blend. Got it at first because I enjoy cigars on the side and am intrigued by the idea of using cigar leaf as a different kind of air cured tobacco in blends. My expectation is, cigar leaf should behave like a burley with generally more floral characteristics. Most cigar blends I have tired fall short of this, somehow the pipe tobacco ends up tasting off, like a half smoke cigar has been added to the tin. THIS BLEND IS DIFFERENT!!! There are times it actually expresses itself like a spicy light colored cigar. Other times, I feel more like I'm smoking a nice mellow chocolaty burley blend. To me the virginias and perique support the other components well, but do not stand out. Surprisingly, the Italian air-cured tobaccos stand out. Reminiscent of latakia in this blend, although without the piney-incense quality. Just light, spicy and interesting. I would like to revisit this blend again in the future, as well as similar blends. It would be wonderful to see more air cured blends in the world. :)

Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Morning Flake 8oz
Strong tobacco, that ages gracefully
When I first smoked this tobacco I felt it was very strong in its effects. The flavor was a bit rough around the edges, like a good virginia with certain earthy flavors dominated the smoke. After some time aging this tobacco it is still strong, but enjoyable. It tingles the senses and leads one to dive deeper into the smoke through sweet, rich notes of hay and bakery scents. The presents of perique is great in the aged flakes. It seems to have cigar qualities that that are supported wonderful by the virginia base. This tobacco flake is one of my all time favorites.

G. L. Pease - The Virginia Cream 8oz
Easy Smoke
I love this blend because it's so easy going. I can smoke it anytime from first thing in the morning until night. The hardy tobacco used is rounded out by a beautiful vanilla flavor. Great for a quick "pick-me-up" smoke, and will surely lighten your spirit

Cornell & Diehl - Interlude 2oz
Complex Virginia with Spicy honey
This flake keeps the smoker interested until the bottom of the bowl. The virginia tobacco is interesting on its own, with the addition of honey makes this tobacco shine. The honey adds a pleasant tingling sensation on the tongue and adds depth of flavor. I also highly recommend the light virginia version!

Peter Stokkebye - PS402 Luxury Twist Flake
Luxury Tobacco
Beautiful twisted tobacco. The thick swirling flake smells delicious. Fighting the urge to chew! The smoke tastes just right upfront. Also, has the aftertaste of roasting coffee. Very nice tobacco

Low Country - Edisto 2oz
Emerging Flavors
All in all a very nice Virginia flake. Starts light, like American tobacco cured for cigarettes. However, this flake develops a rich cigar like taist as you smoke it down. This is where the magic happens. Pairs very well with Rochefort 10, or any other dark beer. This Virginia flake, is somewhat unique and certainly enjoyable

Missouri Meerschaum - 150th Anniversary 1.75oz
Lots of Flavor
The underlying tobacco of this blend, pressed in to a flake is pretty good. In the aromatic flavor is a forward vanilla, which is pretty nice. However, equally as noticeable is a fruity bubble gum taist that I can't help but focus on. If your looking for an aromatic with a "cornucopia" of flavor, you may like this blend

Peterson - De Luxe Mixture 50g
Beautiful Aromatic Blend
I really enjoy this tobacco. The aromatic notes come through subtly and marry beautifully. Perfect smoke for a cool morning or relaxing afternoon

Mac Baren - Vanilla Roll Cake 3.5oz
Vanilla Cupcake
I am vividly reminded of the aroma of freshly baked vanilla cupcakes smoking this tobacco. I love it, but sometimes blend it with a straight virginia to mellow out the aromatic flavor. Great for when you have a sweet tooth

G. L. Pease - Stonehenge Flake 2oz
Spot On
This tobacco is just about perfect. I've been looking for something like this for years. These fat pungent flakes make me very happy :)

Cornell & Diehl - Autumn Evening 2oz
Strong Aromatic
Was a little overwhelmed by this pipe tobacco. It was very aromatic! I liked the maple, but came on strong. Decidedly not for me

Mac Baren - Dark Twist 3.5oz
Good Tobacco
Every time I come back to this tobacco I am happy. It is constant! The maple flavor is subtle, perfect for the discerning pipe smoker wanting a bit more from tobacco.

Balkan Sasieni - Balkan Sasieni 50g
Dark and spicy
One of my favorite tobacco blends. One of the most notable flavors of this tobacco is spicy and tingling latakia flavors. Behind this is a wonderfully full and sweet smoke. Highly recommend if your looking for a nice clean tasting Balkan blend

G. L. Pease - The Virginia Cream 2oz
Spicy Vanilla
Beautiful vanilla flavored tobacco, with a spicy finish. The smoke has a wonderful body and room notes!

Cornell & Diehl - Blockade Runner 2oz
Rum
Definitely smells and tastes like rum. The tobacco looks like very high quality cakes. I'm not the biggest fan of the taste, sorta like light cigarettes and rum. My girlfriend was not a fan of the room note. Maybe best for some seeking light smoking tobacco that tastes like rum!

Stands & Pouches - 1790 English Tobacco Box Copper
Sweet!
I love these little baccy cases! Perfect for upto a weekend away enjoying pipe tobacco in a beautiful place. I have a copper and a brass. They both developed an amazing patina!

Seattle Pipe Club - Mississippi River Special Reserve 4oz
Oriental Forward English Blend
A very pleasant English blend. This blend is similar to Plum Pudding. The big difference is the forward position of the oriental tobacco in Mississippi River. The Orientals make is blend lighter, accompanied by notes of toast and hazelnuts. Very nice

Mac Baren - HH Bold Kentucky 3.5oz
Heavy on the Dark Fired
This blend is very heavy on the Kentucky dark fired. Tastes a lot like barbecue sauce... If you love Texas BBQ you will love this tobacco blend ;)

Cornell & Diehl - Haunted Bookshop
Nice to switch things up
This is a pretty good blend to switch things up. There are burley blends I like better. All in all, not a bad tobacco blend to put in your pipe and smoke

Mac Baren - HH Pure Virginia 3.5oz
What tobacco should taste like
This is a very rich virginia blend. There is beautiful balance between sweet and ...sort of like tanic leaves on a moist forest floor. This tobacco reminds me of oolong tea, it's that amber type between green and black tea

Mac Baren - HH Old Dark Fired 3.5oz
Some Magic
I'm not normaly very into about dark fired Kentucky. However, this one is different. I think it must be perfectly balanced with the other blending components, because this flake tastes beautiful!

Mac Baren - HH Burley Flake 3.5oz
Great mid-day smoke
I really enjoy this burley flake. It's light, but has lovely plum and raison undertones. There are hints of cedar and dry earth in flavor profile as well

Seattle Pipe Club - Plum Pudding Special Reserve 4oz
My favorite English blend
This is a nearly perfect English blend, as far as I'm concerned. Peppery, but also so beautiful smokey and rich; like chocolate cake. Latakia comes through strong, but is balanced by light nuanced Orientals. Highly recommend if you're looking for a rich English blend

Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Morning
Daily Smoker
An enjoyable, yet fairly economic Va/Per. A bit spicy, but overall sweet and smooth. Flavor is like bright, sweet fermenting hay, with some notes of rich fruit. Definitely recommend for a daily smoker
