Cornell & Diehl - Shandygaff
Just Wow!
Watched the video where they postulated this one as one of an underrated blend of theirs! Oh yes it is underrated! Super spicy! Full flavour w/o being overpowering! Ordering from EU makes US respectively C&D blend not less desirable but much more expensive. After taxes price doubles. Yet i will have to treat myself once in a while. Bulk blends make that an option. EU blends are just too sweetend in comparison imho. Or it may be a higher ratio/ plain american tobaccos that make it stick out. Just a guess.
Cornell & Diehl - Big 'n' Burley
Strong stuff
Latakia- forward burley blend. Great stuff, pretty strong. Somewhat reminded me of a much stronger Americana blend + Perique and Orientals in a suppottive role? Sometimes I found myself smoking a cigarette as a follow up after a mild bowl of whatever not too far after. Certainly not the case here.
Sutliff - #600 Mixture 79
A classic
with its "raison d´etre", not my thing though. Nice burleys,.due to i guess soaking them, unfortunately they cant evolve much. worth a try, some might be surprised and like this a lot.
Orlik - Golden Sliced 100g
High quality flake
Very citrusy, lots of high VA notes. Unfortunately for me sort of slightly lakeland-esque if you will, due to the casing/topping of what tastes to me most likely of orange and bergamotte flavours. I do like those at times, but they do "ghost" my pipes. Other than that they complement the citrusy VAs beautifully.

Nice Burley-foreard blend, quite a casing of chocolaty and molasses compared to MB HH Burley flake for my taste. Besides that Earthy, rich and satisfying. Good pricing as well. Recommended!!
Mac Baren - HH Bold Kentucky 1.75oz
Heavy duty
Extra strong in flavour and nicotine. Cant puff this one vigorously, if sipped carefully very tasty, even some sweetness. lots of campfire going on though. Saturates even the strongest demand for vit n on any given day.

All day smoke of choice!
My standard choice of an everyday smoke. What do i expect from an all day smoke? Easy to light, stays lit pretty well, not too much focus on the smoke necessary, not overly complex or heavy in taste as you might tire of that. enough nicotine to bring you through your day, averaging 2-5 bowls per day. Burley does that for me (also Amphora Burley e.g.). The blend here is so enjoyable, easy going, without excitement giving enough spice from the perique, breadyness from a hint of Va, the Burley not too chocolatey, nice nuttyness, it simply never gets old, whilest not having to keep focus of your bowl throughout.

Beautiful flake tobacco
Great taste, bit moist out of the tin. Va-forward blend very well rounded by the other components, very full in flavour, not an all day smoke for me because of its rich flavour profile.

Bready Vas, subtle topping, nice spice from the Orientals, complementing the Vas nicely. Delicious!

Looking for Perique?
Look no further. If you do get that itch for a hefty dose of Perique every now and then, this might do as an adequate scratch for you. Fullbodied, not overly complex, satisfying full flavour profile, proper nic hit. Serious funk in the tin note, just as you would expect from such a high percentage of first class Perique. Cellared 1 to let it age, hopefully i´m disciplined enough to let it sit. Recommended.
A&C Petersen - Escudo Navy Deluxe 50g
Gold standard of Va/Pers
This Va/Per is- it has been said many times by lots of pipe smokers- the gold standard of Va/Pers. Very well balanced mixture, lots of flavour profile, harmonious play of all components. Many a time I do like it heavier, going for e.x. Bayou morning flake, but I love to come back to this outstanding blend. Make sure to take your time to let it shine. If you haven´t had it yet, get some.

Getting to love C&D
Sip it patiently, it will treat you. slight creaminess from the latakia without knocking out your taste buds, nutty from the burley. Dry mouth if smoked hasty. Take your time. Not strong but satisfying nic hit. Pleasant all day smoke, not too complex with surprising undertones every other sip here and there! Thumbs up!

Not into Aromatics. That being said, this is my favorite one. Will purchase and smoke again! Very enjoyable.
McConnell - Shakespeare 50g
Awesome
Never had the original, so I cant compare it to Dunhills craftsmanship. But at this point it is my favorite Virgina blend. Has somewhat a taste of a slight citrus casing. but it might just be the high notes of the bright VAs, making a subtle occurrence here and there.
