A&C Petersen - Escudo Navy Deluxe 50g
Bready, citrusy, and a touch of spice.
As my escudo hits close to a year of age, I can say I enjoyed this much more than a few months ago. Its has a nice. Bready undertone, and the perique adds a slightly citrus like taste and a little spicy kick. If you smoke it slow it has very sweet notes that come out as well. I really see why people enjoy this one now,l. I give this 4.6 stars as its cousin luxury bullseye flake and that touch of Cavendish is what this is to be but even sweeter and sweeter is better.
Sir Walter Raleigh - Regular 1.5oz
A pretty good OTC
A friend of mine introduced me to Mr. Raleigh and I am happy to meet him. I don't smoke this often but when I crack open a pouch, I am reminded why I stocked up on some of it. It is a good burley that never leaves me disappointed. Its definitely not my favorite burley but for its price you can't really say no to it.
Cornell & Diehl - Opening Night 2oz
Pretty average
This is probably what I would call a middle of the road Virginia. This wasn't bad but didn't really wow me either. I only really enjoyed this blend about half way through the bowl and thats about it. A friends of mine seemed to really enjoy this one so its probably just my pallette but I likely would skip over another purchase of this tin.
Peter Stokkebye - PS402 Luxury Twist Flake
Welcome to the bakery
This is my go to blend in the morning with a cup of coffee. It gives off a unique smell which almost reminds me of play dough, but when lit its a different story. I get a creamy pastry like flavor which reminds me of dipper a plain donut right into my cup of Joe. The flakes almost look like the shape of bread which I feel is very fitting due to the sweet bread flavor this posses. Better stock up in bulk as this stuff goes fast! I know I am glad that I did!
Cornell & Diehl - Bijou 2oz
Raisins and honey
Its 3 am and I needed a smoke. Almost nearly out I figured I'd dip into this again after its been ages for around 7 month's. The jar immediately greets me with the smell of raisins. The smoke however has a hint of honey married with Virginia and Orientals. This is such a pleasant and unique smoke compared to everything else in my cellar and the only downside I can think of when it comes to this blend is how they don't offer it in bigger bulk!
Cornell & Diehl - Dreams of Kadath 2oz
Rotten fruit
This is the only tobacco I literally was disgusted by. Smells of rotting fruit in the hot sun and has the taste of that as well. Getting rid of this asap. 0 stars.
Peterson - University Flake 50g
Fruity and strong!
This flake has been a study of mine for a hot minute. I knew I enjoyed it a lot but until my most recent smoke I was really noticing the abundance of fruit flavor I was getting. I just finished up a hot days of yard work and boy does this have quite the nicotine hit as well! Delicious and for sure worth the try!
Peterson - Flake 50g
A bowl of cocoa
So sweet and tasty, I had my tin aged for about 7 months and once I cracked it I couldn't put it away. Its hard to say if this is my favorite Virginia blend right now as I want to try more but this is certainly a contender. The flakes are pleasant to smell and to taste. I seriously get notes of a hot cocoa when smoking this!
Peterson - Irish Flake 50g
My absolute favorite as of now
Strong and bold flavor. Strong and bold nicotine content. This is great for a nice pick me up in the morning with a hot cup of coffee. I wish so badly Peterson would sell some blends as bulk, and this is my number 1 suggestion.
Samuel Gawith - Squadron Leader 50g
Nice yet strong
This is basically my 2nd favorite English blend. It had a very nice Latakia presence and a surprisingly decent amount of nicotine. If this came in bulk it might take over as my favorite.
Peter Stokkebye - PS17 English Luxury
Rich flavor
My 1st full on english blend has become my go to for this catagory. I have tried quite a few of the more popular English blend but always find myself craving the full flavor this provides. The other English blends I have had feel like they offer a hint of Latakia but this blend puts it right in your face that its there and delicious!
