Sutliff - Creme Brulee
Smells like a headache
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this in the reviews, but you should be aware that whatever Sutliff sprays this stuff with to flavor it smells like a sickly-sweet headache waiting to happen. Don't get me wrong, the flavor is quite discernable in a world of hot air flavored aromatics, and in fact smells wonderful when lit. This is the most complimented Aromatic I've smoked at work. However, the flavoring agents are so strong that I could smell it in the parcel box when I opened it. Fearing some cross contamination, I didn't store it with my other aros and instead left it out on my bookshelf, only to have my whole room smell of whatever the hell is in this. I started taking it to work so as to smoke it as quickly as I could to get rid of it, and found that it needs a lot of drying time or even squeezing with a paper towel to get it dry enough to keep lit. As I've said, the taste is good and lit smell is fantastic, hunger inducing even. I had to go to Starbucks to get a real Creme Brulee after a couple bowls of this just to compare, and the tobacco is pretty damned close to the drink. But the unlit odor stayed in my jacket and book bag for weeks after I'd already thrown away the 2 ounces I bought to sample. Maybe it's just me, but I couldn't handle the oiliness and pungent stench. After handling the tobacco, I'd have to wash my hands to get the shiny film off before touching my meerschaum pipe.
