Cornell & Diehl - Epiphany 2oz
Beautiful harmony of tobaccos. Loved it.
Cornell & Diehl - Pegasus
Simple in a bad way
Found it to be very dry not in moisture content but rather mouthfeel. Almost chalky or dirt texture. The earthiness is there but that’s literally all I can taste. There’s no layers or sweetness. I do not find it at all similar to Carter Hall or King Albert in the slightest. Might be your thing, but it’s not mine. Going to cellar and check on it later.
Peter Stokkebye - PS17 English Luxury
Absolute best blend I’ve ever had the pleasure of smoking
This in my savinelli 128 is pure bliss. Absolutely heavenly. My island tobacco for sure.
Peterson - Early Morning Pipe 50g
The lat/oriental balance is perfect and the blends for each are superb. Wish I could buy in bulk because my closet would be full of the stuff. It’s my number one. Absolute without question buy it if you enjoy oriental English blends.
Sutliff - Revelation Match
I had a revelation alright....
Never waste my money on Sutliffs weird tasting and horrible burning abominations. Seriously reconsider ordering more than an ounce your first order.
Sutliff - Match Sunrise
This stuff is so coarsely cut I had to rub it out. I've tried it a couple times and it's going in the trash. It has some chemical component to it that is extremely harsh on the throat and mouth, and I didn't even inhale the stuff. It's a disgrace. It's not even that it's not for my palate it's just objectively horrible.
Sutliff - Match 20
Never had the original, but I'd bet it's far better.
Not a horrible blend. Just not as good quality or taste as the other bulk stuff I've had. Wouldn't waste my money on Sutliff base don my recent order where I tried several matches.
Sutliff - Match 20
Better tobaccos out there
As with most sutliff matches I’ve just gotten in my order I regret buying them. They’re unique and interesting in a way, but don’t seem the best quality. Honestly wouldn’t waste my money on any of their matches. They never burn right and taste off.
Cult - Blood Red Moon 50g
Decent, but over-hyped IMO.
Has a lingering dark almost black cherry taste. It's not bad but it's not great either.
Cornell & Diehl - Sweet English
My new favorite blend. How can an English be better at being an English and Aromatic at the same time? IDK but they did it folks. Medium strength with a very natural delicious sweetness. Ordering more now.
Carter Hall - Carter Hall 14oz
Newish pipe smoker, I'd recommend you start here.
I think it's important to try Charter. It my preferred smoke while I'm Fishing or Camping. It's light but delicious. Naturally sweet and perfectly cut. It packs a better bowl than anything else I own. I will continue to have a large quantity of Charter Hall. There's just something perfect about how it smokes and rolls out of mouth with 100% consistency. I'm on my fourth 1.5 oz ouch in something like two weeks.
Peter Stokkebye - PS31 Optimum
You could like this, but I was unimpressed.
Mild bodied with a faint Aromatic sweetness. Undefined in any way for my palate. I wish it had some stand out attribute but it's just boring. I like most tobaccos. I'm on the fence if it's just "ok" or maybe not even that. Palates are different, it's certainly not a bad quality product though.
Peter Stokkebye - PS52 Proper English
Put some hair on that chest
Essentially Peterson Nightcap with more Latakia. It is pungent, offensive, and frankly smells like a fresh roaring camp fire. Dynamic and bold. I love it. Truly a Proper English. It was an acquired taste, but be warned nothing else will satiate you once on the Lat kick.
Lane Limited - 1-Q
My Favorite Aromatic, so far.
It is my opinion every pipe smoke should try this tobacco to ensure they aren't missing out on a really good daily smoke. Unlike most aromatics I've had, I find the sweetness to be organic and perfectly balanced in the blend. Think Marshmallow with a little honey/vanilla on top of a well rounded not so goopy mild-medium body. I would call this an elite tobacco, an all day smoke for sure.
