G. L. Pease - Gaslight 2oz
A Premium English
Sometimes in life you come across something that makes you think "I wish I'd been the one to invent this." This is one of those things. A near perfect English blend and nothing short of a masterpiece. Everything you're looking for in an English can be found here. If this is your first time with such a blend, you may want to try others just for the fun of it, but you needn't. This is the first and last English you'll ever need.

Five Brothers - Five Brothers 1.25oz
For the professional smoker
An almost perfect burley blend. If you're wanting pure, unadulterated tobacco, look no further. It's a shag though, so make sure you sip it or else it's all going to burn at once. Pack it as tight as possible and you should be good to go.

Amphora - Kentucky Blend 1.75oz
Better than it has any business being.
This was my first non-aromatic blend, and will forever be my recommendation for a good DFK tobacco. It's hard to believe this only comes in a pouch, as it easily rivals more expensive tobaccos. The strength is great, and the taste is like well cured beef jerky. I do get some complaints about the room note though.

Prince Albert - Prince Albert 14oz
Prince Albert in a tub
This is a very basic, entry level aromatic. I bought simply for nostalgia's sake, and was a bit disappointed. The flavor barely comes through, but if you were looking for a decent all day smoke, I suppose you could do worse. It's a good tobacco if your friend comes over and wants to try pipe smoking for the first time, but once you'll learned to smoke properly, you'll probably move on to something better.

Captain Earle's - Diamond Head 2oz
Par for the course
This is my second Captain Earle blend (First being ten russians) and it does not disappoint. While this isn't rated as a strong smoke, it affects me more than Ten Russians. If I had to compare it to another blend, I would compare it to Dan Tobacco's "Old Ironsides" but better by a longshot. Ultimately, if you like Latakia, but don't want a total Lat bomb, I'd recommed going with this blend. Age when smoked: 34 Pipe used: Good ole Meer

Kramer's - Father Dempsey 50g
Taste like soap
Like the flavor of soap? Like smoking? Then this is the blend for you! If not, then I recommend nightcap.

Capstan - Flake Blue 1.75oz
Taste Like the Sea
If hay grew in the ocean, it would taste like this. I really wanted to like it due to it being JRR Tolkien's smoke, but i just can't.

Lighters - Peterson Green System Pipe Lighter
The last pipe lighter you'll ever need
In peterson green, I don't really have any complaints about this little lighter. It's well put together, and any mechanical problems you do have (such as those brought on when I dropped mine) were easily self-fixable with just a screwdriver. Not that a lighter should be all about looks, but when I pull this out, people do tend to have a "Oh, you're a serious pipe smoker!" kind of look on their face. If I ever lose it, I'll immediately buy another.

Samuel Gawith - Black XX Rope 50g
The Duke
The first time I smoked this, I knew absolutely nothing about it. Upon lighting up, I promptly floated out the window and into the clouds. Shortly after, I landed in on a nearby porcelain throne where I promptly gave birth to the Duke. Weighing in at a hefty 9 pounds and 4 ounces, the Duke was soon followed by several other members of his family, all of lesser nobility. All that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed this tobacco and between the tastes of leather and meat, I have found myself back in the court of royalty numerous times. While I wouldn't call their relationship with a mere peasant such as myself a loving one, it is one that I cherish and return to again and again.

Old German Clay - Tavern Cutty with Hemp Wrap
A Fantastic Piece of History
A big fan of clay pipes, this is one of OGC's best. The bowl is nice and deep, making of for a long cool smoke. While some don't find clay comfortable on the teeth, this isn't a clencher so it's not really an issue. Be careful, though, as it is a very fragile pipe. Even with the stem broken, it makes for a good short pipe. The twine band is nice, but if you want to clean the pipe by firing it, you'll have to take it off or just let it burn away.

Old German Clay - Ship of the Line
A perfect quick smoke
A lot of people are often surprised by the tiny size of this pipe, and to them I say CHECK THE DIMENSIONS. The weight is wrong, but everything else is correct. If you're looking for a pipe for a long, thoughtful smoke, this is not it. But if you want a good 10-15 minute smoke where you can cherish the flavor of your favorite tobacco, then look no further. A small, yet classy pipe, Markus Fohr's Ship of the Line is one of my all time favorites, and my go-to pipe when I'm in a hurry. For those who have read Moby Dick, this is very similar to the pipes kept in a line-up by Stubbs. Have a friend who wants to try a pipe but you don't want them to ruin one of your nicer ones? Ship of the Line is your pipe! What the description doesn't tell you is that these pipes will color similarly to meerschaum pipes. However, should you desire to clean this pipe rather than just chuck it, you can either set it on the coals of a fire or put it in the oven on high. After being re-heated, the pipe will be as good and white as the day you bought it, extending the lifetime of it indefinitely. The only thing you need to watch out for is that it, along with all clay pipes, is quite delicate, so if you drop it, it's a goner. That being said, if you know what you're getting into, you'll love this tiny pipe.

Captain Earle's - Ten Russians 2oz
A perfect Latakia
As someone who lives in Russia, the saddest part about this blend is that you can’t actually buy it here! Needless to say, whenever I’m back in the west, I fill my carryon with the stuff. This is a strong blend, I won’t lie. But it’s perfectly balanced by the earthy tones of the Latakia, so it doesn’t knock you over. It’s a well balanced blend and my absolute favorite. The only reason you should ever buy a 2oz tin of this is because they’re either sold out of the bigger tins or you want a small tin to keep in your pocket for all day smoking.
