Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Morning Flake 2oz
A Kick Square in the Morning
It's a great Vaper. I wouldn't smoke it in the morning though! Damn strong!

Cornell & Diehl - Daylight: Or L'yom 2oz
Wow. Just Chocolate Goodness
This is absurdly delicious. It's exceedingly mild, just a tiny bit of spiciness. Get's a little annoying towards the end of the bowl, but is utterly delicious and has a great room note.

G. L. Pease - Navigator 2oz
Not a Navy Flake
It kinda irritates the gums a bit. That being said, I could literally smoke this all day long, and I am half tempted to do it. It has a really, really solid rum casing, and the tobacco is just so, so sweet. This is one of those smokes that I don't think belongs in a cob, but runs really, really smooth in a meerschaum. Smokes best when rubbed and then left to dry for 20-30 minutes. Without hesitation, I found myself smoking this everyday. I hadn't intended to, but it just out performs other similar blends. This here is a best of all the worlds.

Filters & Adaptors - Falcon 9mm Filters (25 Count)
What for?
I am sure these must have some use in their own right, I just can't seem to figure it out. One of these came with a pipe that I bought, and honestly, I'd never buy them. They're not great at handling moisture, they're not great at filtering, and if your bowl gets low, they might burn a little. Does nothing for tongue bite or moisture. I would use a 9mm to 3mm adapter over these to be totally honest.

Solani - Silver Label - 660 100g
Plumes of smoke
Tangy and bready. Slightly sweet. Really interesting. I'll have to smoke it a few more times to figure out the flavours. I really like it though.

Solani - Virginia Flake - 633 100g
An Ideal Virginia
I am kind of at a loss for words. It rubs out into gorgeous ribbons. The long flakes take more effort, but bring a customization that has no comparison. The room note is sweet and natural, and the taste far exceeds the strength. I could smoke it all day, and just might. I don't have a single negative thing to say about this vaper.

Cornell & Diehl - Visions of Celephaïs 2oz
Finally, an Aromatic that I can smoke
Full disclosure, my tin was tinned Nov. 2019, and some of the scents may have tapered out. Either way, it is amazing! This is exactly how I would imagine the streets of Celephais to smell. Buy a tin, it's great. I'm definitely going to grab a few tins.

Stands & Pouches - 1790 English Tobacco Box German Silver
Quality Construction
It's a really sharp tin. Quite a bit of weight to it, but well worth the presentation. It pairs well with the chrome finish of IM Corona lighters. N.B. Clean it before you use it. It definitely needs a good cleaning before you use it. Polish the interior and especially the lip. Other than that--in the words of a legend--happy piping! Leaves a terrible residue on everything. I'll have to send it for plating.

Cornell & Diehl - Gray Ghost 2oz
Gotham Nights
This one gets a 5/5 for me, especially because of creativity. It's an interesting twist on a virginia blend. Instead of the usual condiments, the cigar leaf, which I'm guessing is dominican colorado claro wrapper leaf, adds an incredible taste. It reminds me a great deal of the famous and over-priced Colorado claro cigar of Dominican origin, and what's interesting is that you almost can't taste the virginia at all unless you really slow the smoke down. However, if you push the heat a little, the cigar leaf really shines. As a cigar smoker turned pipe smoker, this really got my attention. Excellent blend.

Cornell & Diehl - Bijou 2oz
Complex, Delicious
I am mostly a cigar smoker, and recently decided to move towards pipes. This is an incredible blend. It opens with chocolate notes, and lots of rich sweet smoke. By the half-way point it pours out powerful oud notes as the chocolate takes a back seat to sweet grass. Exceptionally smooth and not overly sweet. It's a good blend for some quiet contemplation. Very spicy, towards the end of the bowl. Sensitive to overheating. If you notice some powdery white features, recognize that this is sugar and not mold. Mold will brush off easily, but genuine tobacco sugars are an almost gray/brown crystalline residue that does not rub off. Personally, as a cigar smoker, seeing sugar deposits is like a jackpot to me.

Peterson - 3 P's Peterson's Perfect Plug 50g
Excellent Plug
This is in my top three favourite tobaccos to smoke. I like to cut it thin so that it rubs into a fine ribbon. I do think it is rather strong. It is a very well balanced smoke. Benefits from a little drying. It has a sour, almost fermented, scent in the tin, but the flavour is very smooth and rather nutty sweet. The sour becomes almost plum like. The smoke is rich and thick.

Filters & Adaptors - Savinelli 9mm Balsa Filters (15 Count)
Keep a stash
Full disclaimer, I like unfiltered at times. What I appreciate about these "filters" is their betweenness. They offer a far richer smoke than charcoal filters while still considerably cutting down on tongue bite. Allegedly you can use them 4 times, though I disagree. I would suggest using it no more than 3 times and do not change tobacco between uses. I like the balsa wood insert for use with virginias, mostly.

Filters & Adaptors - Vauen Filters (100 pack)
Great Filter
These are my go to filters. Kills tongue bite, completely, absorbs moisture. Excellent.

Filters & Adaptors - Savinelli 9mm Charcoal Filters (35 Count)
There are better filters
These aren't anything special. There are better ones available on this site.

Peter Stokkebye - PS402 Luxury Twist Flake
Sweet and Subtle
This isn't anything crazy. It isn't a smoke you're going to think too much about. Mild, can smoke it over and over without missing a thing. Sweet and bread-like. Very thin smoke. If it overheats it does not become sharp.

Peter Stokkebye - PS400 Luxury Navy Flake
Easy Piping
This one is really easy going. Bready taste, a little sweet. Leaves nothing to be desired, pairs well with a coffee. Doesn't stink. Good on a Saturday morning.

Peterson - Connoisseur's Choice 50g
Unpleasant
It has a complicated taste and a complicated tin note. The room note is pretty good. I really can't stand aromatics, but this one is at least made of quality tobacco. I tried to like it. Every time I open up the jar, any desire to try it again is immediately dispelled. There are far better aromatics that you will find for the same price.

Sutliff - SPS-21 Black Vanilla
Rather Artificial
I bought 2oz and smoked it once. I can't stand the pouch note. It's incredibly wet, and the taste is nothing desirable. I'm not sure if I want to keep it, or toss it out.

Peterson - Early Morning Pipe 50g
Excellent medium English
This is an honest to goodness great blend. It needs a bit of drying. Really good smoke and burns very clean.

Peterson - University Flake 50g
Pretty Good Virginia Flake
You won't really notice the plum unless you retrohale. It's pretty good. It's not bland, but it isn't complex.

Lane Limited - 1-Q
Can't Complain for the Price
I'm not crazy about aromatics. The tobacco quality isn't great, but it's not terrible. It's a good social smoke. The room note is excellent. People will usually comment on how good it smells and how much they like the smell. This would have to be the least artificial vanilla aromatic that I've tried. It is exceedingly mild, and if you push the heat at all that's the end of the flavour. To be frank, I'd probably buy it again.

Cornell & Diehl - Briar Fox 2oz
Fox and a Firkin
I think this is my smoke. I bought a 2oz tin, smoked it twice and bought an 8oz tin immediately afterwards. I have a pipe dedicated to smoking just briar fox. This is by far my favourite tobacco. Quality is spot on, taste is phenomenal.

Peterson - Nightcap 50g
True to the Title
Definitely a great evening smoke. It's pretty darn strong. Great taste, pretty complex, but doesn't make you think too much.

Sutliff - Z92 Vanilla Custard
It's ok.
I initially liked the bag smell, which is great. The taste at first seemed very artificial. To be fair the "custard" is more reminiscent of a brulee, but it's still ok. I speculate that using the frank method with this one would be best. Definitely, packing it loose to medium loose is best. Retrohaling, as if you were smoking a cigar helps pull out the flavour, which is pretty good for a tobacco flavour. I'm genuinely not a fan of aromatics, but I have a soft spot for captain black, and this one is more than just tolerable. I'd consider ordering it again.

Seattle Pipe Club - Plum Pudding Special Reserve 4oz
Must Have
Lots of complex flavour, while never being overpowering. Smooth, creamy smoke, phenomenal taste. The plum flavour intensifies towards the bottom of the bowl, and will linger to your next smoke. Great stuff, burns for ages. takes about an hour and half to get through a bowl.
