A & C Petersen - Escudo Navy Deluxe 50g
Need more time with her
Only smoked once, so I thought I’d share as most of the reviews come from it aged or from long term experience. Glad it has so much history. I enjoyed it, though it was probably too moist still out of the tin. I look forward to letting it age some and I did enjoy the simplicity of the smells out of the tin!

Could be this... could be that.
You open up the tin and immediately are greeted with a wonderful and intriguing smell. A smell that, if you don’t read the description from SPC, will truly leave you guessing. Good name for it. I smelled and tasted more of a vanilla chocolate than straight vanilla - maybe even some kahlua. Didn’t smoke as cool as blood red moon, but still cool overall.
Borkum Riff - Bourbon Whiskey 7oz
Wish it was as good as drinking
Like many have mentioned, definitely some tongue bite. Wished the tobacco/flavor was better. Definitely more to be desired left on the table.
Captain Black - Original 1.5oz
The “bud light” of pipe tobacco!
This is just considered a basic smoke in my opinion. I compare it to a simple bud light vs a good, full of flavor craft beer. The former being very plain and common (get the job done) vs. distinct and complex (makes you taste and think).
Sutliff - Z92 Vanilla Custard
Just like the name suggests, vanilla custard it is! Too wet, but probably the best desert smell out of the bag and makes you want to eat instead of smoke it. If I was more of an aromatic fan I’m sure this would be up there for me. The smoking qualities are great, I just don’t like how I feel like I have a “syrup caked in my mouth” kind of feel after I smoke. Would rate it higher without this.

Easy cherry aro
I think the labeling and naming of this blend help make it what it is. Certainly a well tasting cherry blend that doesn’t have the “coat of syrup” in your mouth aspect - huge plus! Can’t stand that about a lot of aromatics. Too much syrup that you miss the tobacco. Love that you can still taste the flavors of tobacco as well. Wish it didn’t smell as “cough syrupy, but still a great smoke!
Mac Baren - HH Old Dark Fired 1.75oz
Grill, then chill
This is a well-rounded, stronger blend. Something that would round out a good evening of grilling steaks and pairing with a fine libation. Definitely has a barbecue sauce/ketchup tin flavor and this transfers to the bowl while smoking.
Peterson - Early Morning Pipe 50g
Simple and gentle
A good tobacco blend, but plays with me to want a little more out of it. Seems good at times, but also can be too much campfire. I wrestle with it, but that can be a good thing. I would still recommend.
Peterson - My Mixture 965 50g
Complex, yet simple
Love this now Peterson blend. The room note for an English like this is very pleasant. One of the first true blends I’m able to pick out some of the different flavors I’m tasting and at the same time smoke it with smoothness and ease without a thought.
Orlik - Golden Sliced 100g
Easy, tasty smoke
The name “golden sliced” really does fit the description of this blend. It is a light and summery type of blend that works well as an everyday smoke. The flakes are easy to work with and moisture is good out of the tin. If I could put a visualization to the smoke it would be finishing up mowing the fresh-cut lawn and having a nice glass of lemonade on a late summer evening.
