Mac Baren - Burley: London Blend 3.5oz
This is really nice
I thought the tin aroma a bit overpowering-like someone spilled fudge sauce-but the actual flavor and room note are both about as laid back as a person could want. It’s a shame that it’s not in steady production, because this would be a pleasant choice for, say, fishing or other relaxing pursuits. Plus, it lights easily and stays lit. The flavor note is very nutlike, which I like a great deal. If it ever comes back, grab a few tins. You won’t regret it.

Vincent Manil Wins Again
Smoking my first round of this. Unmistakably Manil Semois but it has a slight hint of a mintlike note. This tobacco wants to be packed more tightly than I usually pack. I keep all my tobacco with 55% humidity packs, which doesn’t change Manil’s famously dry tobacco one bit. When this comes back, get a brick. It will not disappoint.

Excellent smoke, excellent value
This is perfect for when you don’t want to pay a lot of attention to what you’re doing while smoking. It actually smokes faster than I expected, despite my slow sipping. No fuss, stays lit, smells and tastes good while not being overly assertive or calling attention to itself. A “background music” tobacco, and a great one at that.

Solid and pleasant
I finally got around to opening the tin, and immediately regretted not having bought another one or two to cellar. This is a beautiful tobacco in both taste and aroma. Does what it does without pretension or fuss. Next time they do a limited run of this, grab it! You will not regret anything except not having grabbed more of it.

Delightful Semois-like Earthiness
This is a wonderfully “earthy” blend. Not one I’d smoke every day, but nice to have when the mood strikes. Might try a mixture of this and a little Tabac Manil La Brumeuse to see how well they complement each other.

Not enough superlatives
I bought one because I’ve been curious about it for years. Now I’m ready to add its two siblings. This tobacco has an earthy nuttiness that’s extremely pleasant. I tend to like burleys anyway, but this is a whole new level. If there’s such a thing as a dream tobacco, for me this is it.
