Savinelli - Doblone d'Oro 100g
Decent middle of the road tobacco
I wanted orlik's golden sliced, but it's always out of stock. This sounded like a good alternative with a bit more robustness from the dark fired leaf addition. Slightly smoky, oak, and leather on the tin note. Average nicotine content, burns clean and easy. Taste was in line with the tin note, a pleasant taste of pure tobacco with a hint of smoke from the dark fired leaf. A bit dry, but a good buy

Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Morning Flake 2oz
Too much nicotine for a morning smoke
This stuff is great. I love the cut and moisture level. I don't see this as a morning smoke as the nicotine content is so high I have almost vomited when smoking it first thing in the morning. That being said, after I get my tolerance up for the day it's a great smoke. Lots of pepper in the taste with a hint of bready sweetness. My palate did not detect much fruity notes, but it's not that sophisticated yet. Burns clean and easy, gives a superbly strong nicotine buzz. I'm not sure how perique gets so strong from the fermentation process, but I like it

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Ennerdale Flake 50g
An enjoyable aromatic
This stuff has a wonderful tin note. Takes a bit of work to rub it out thoroughly enough to get it to light easy, but moisture level was perfect. One of the rare aromatics that tastes like it smells. Sweet, subtle, and complex with notes of vanilla, fruit and maybe a hint of coconut. Very little tongue bite if you don't let it get too hot, unlike many aromatics. A fine tobacco

Seattle Pipe Club - Plum Pudding 2oz
Funky, smoky aroma but tasty tobacco
When I smelled this after opening the can, the smokey barbecue smell of Virginia hit me, with a pungency that had me a bit worried I was out of my depth. I thought for some reason this would smell like plums. The taste of the smoke, however, was rich, nuanced, and had notes of citrus, pepper, and other hard to describe subtleties. A good smoke, even the wife enjoys it
