Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Night 2oz
I went into a bowl of Bayou Night not expecting too much. It sounded, from the description, sort of like Nightcap. By the end of the bowl, I was surprised by how much I liked it. Its not Nightcap, but its really good on its own. The burley and perique make it great, while the latakia, Orientals, and Virginias are great supporting players. The supposedly high nicotine wasn't a big deal for me, but your mileage may vary. I highly recommend this awesome C&D blend.
Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Morning 2oz
Simple cut. Easy to load. Stays lit. Tastes awesome! Excellent for any VaPer lover that wants some extra Perique in the mix.
Five Brothers - Five Brothers 1.25oz
Ok for what it is
I expected a lot more when I popped open the pouch. Five Brothers has an urban legend status as a super strong burley that will knock the most experienced piper on their butt. I'm not the most experienced piper. And it didn't knock me on anything. Its okay, if you want a cigarette-style shag.
Carter Hall - Carter Hall 1.5oz Pouch
If I don't have Prince Albert on hand when all I want is a simple burley, Carter Hall is next up to bat. Sometimes you just want something simple, good, reliable...Carter Hall fits the bill.
Prince Albert - Prince Albert 1.5oz
THE Codger Blend
When I want an over the counter/drug store/codger blend, the Prince is what I reach for. Its a classic American burley that works every day of the week.
A & C Petersen - Escudo Navy Deluxe 50g
After all the hype, I had to try it. I was a little let down. It packs fine, smokes fine. Its fine. But, that's about it. Maybe I'm missing something...who knows. Solani Virginia Flake 633 is better.
G. L. Pease - Quiet Nights 2oz
I found Quiet Nights while searching for a certain Esoterica (you know the one). I thought it wouldn't hurt to try to get an idea. I'm really glad I did. I'm not so concerned with finding the unfindable Esoterica anymore. G.L. Pease hits the nail on the head yet again with this incredibly thoughtful blend. Calling it "deep" seems cliché, but its true. That's the best way to describe it.
Pipe Tools & Supplies - B. J. Long Regular Tapered Pipe Cleaners (100 pack)
BJ Long pipe cleaners are an essential element of my pipe "tool box." Don't leave home without'em.
Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Brown Irish Twist
Great First Rope
If you're wanting to venture into the waters of rope tobacco, this is a great place to start. The Virginia flavor is superb. Keep in mind the higher nicotine, go a little slower with it, and you're in for an excellent piping experience.
Solani - Virginia Flake - 633 50g
THE Best Va-Per on the Market
I'm gonna say it. 633 is better than Escudo. If you're looking for a great blend, that's all you really need to know. By far my favorite Virginia-Perique.
Balkan Sasieni - Balkan Sasieni 50g
My Top Balkan
This was the first blend I tried when I decided to give pipes a go. It ruined me for any other English/Balkan. Not to say that I don't like others, but Sasieni is my first love when the the Balkan urge hits.
Solani - Aged Burley Flake - 656 50g
Germans do it better!
This is by far the best burley flake I've had a chance to try. It's one of the few blends I've stockpiled in my cellar. The nuttiness of the burley is awesome. It burns beautifully. Works well fold-and-stuffed, cube cut, or rubbed out. Simply great.
Mac Baren - HH Old Dark Fired 1.75oz
Probably my favorite blend. The dark fired Kentucky is tasty and you definitely know its there. Great for the summer, winter, and all seasons in between.
Cornell & Diehl - Old Joe Krantz 2oz
A Go-To with kick
Great kick from a healthy dose of perique introduces this great blend. Right after the perique, the great burley flavor starts to take over. If you like perique and burley, this is your blend!
