Rattray's - Red Rapparee 100g
Beautiful Basma
Great smoke and ages very well because of the Va/Or to Latakia ratio. Good all day smoke and a summer/warm weather English. Definitely one of my favoritesl

Sampler Packs - Aladino Sampler (5 Pack)
Glad I gave Aladino a chance!
I have smoked cigars over 10yrs and I love variety. I had seen Aladino but always went for more familiar brands. This sampler is great and every stick had good construction and great flavors. I really hope it is a regular, because when back in stock I'll get 2. Also very similar to old Camacho.

G. L. Pease - Bankside 2oz
A "Cut" above the average flake
It's no surprise that Mr. Pease has created another delicious blend. I personally love the style of flake. Mind you this is my first tin, but it was more of a broken flake that smokes cool & slow. What I love is it can be rubbed out into a nice shag & doesn't burn too hot. Well done Mr. Pease!

H. Upmann - AJ Fernandez Toro
Nice balance between old and new school.
This is a great stick that smokes well above its price. Construction and draw were good with a nice mid-point transition that keeps things interesting. And, hey you can't go wrong with a H. Upmann, AJ Fernandez colab!

H. Upmann - The Banker Currency
Good cigar to hone your palette!
If you're like me and scratch your head when someone says they taste a 3 course meal in a cigar this stick is for you. Leather, Coffee, and spices are very deliciously present in this cigar and very easy to pick out. Construction is good which always make the smoke more enjoyable.

Sutliff - Crumble Kake Red Virginia 1.5oz
Great all-day smoke
I got this on a whim, because Sutliff can be a little hit or miss for me. This one is a solid hit! Nice complexity for a straight Virginia, & I love it with my morning coffee. I've smoked it in many different pipes, but my Comoy's 87 Zulu gave the best smoke especially when you leave it a bit chunky. This helps to keep the burn slow and the smoke cool. I will buy again & want to try the VaPer!

McConnell - Red Virginia 50g
Needs time to breath.
Red Virginia like all McConnell blends is made from delicious quality tobaccos. However, the topping is a bit too much for me and can bite. I have found that it needs time to dry and cellaring in a jar a few months tones it down. If you like non-gloopy aromatics this is right your alley.

Missouri Meerschaum - Mark Twain Bent (6mm)
Smokes like a Meerschaum!
The Dublin shape of the bent Mark Twain is great for flake, ribbon, any cut. I really enjoy fold & stuff when outside working, fishing, ect. I love my AKB Meers, but these pipes are very similar! You get a nice neutral smoke and resistant to ghosting. I use "forever" stems/acrylic & would love it if Missouri Meershaum would make one with one.'hint, hint'

Foundation Cigar Company - Charter Oak Connecticut Petite Corona
Pleasantly Surprised
I usually don't smoke Connecticut shade cigars. I find them boring. This stick was good from first light. The closed foot lets you taste the wrapper and the first half has a nice pepper on the draw without burning the nose when you retrohale. The second half takes on more of a bready, cream and spice drops a little. Overall flavor reminds me of a smooth Bourbon. Great morning smoke, & great price. Also construction, burn, & draw was perfect.

Foundation Cigar Company - El Gueguense Corona Gorda
Flavor Bomb!
This is a great cigar. At first light I get a nice pepper spice mainly on the retrohale, but doesn't burn out your nose. The spice is complimented by a smooth earth. There is a great transition at the halfway point that brings a coffee. The wrapper also leaves a pleasant saltiness on the lips. Corona Cords is one of my favorite vitolas and I got about a hour & a half burn time. It never got hot and all flavor without the nicotine punch. Awesome for morning coffee.

G. L. Pease - Spark Plug 2oz
Crystal Goodness
I have had a few tins since Spark Plug was released and I thought it was pretty good. However, I just opened a 2yr old tin and it has aged amazingly. The plug is covered in sparkling crystals, the flavors are melded great and a nice sweetness has been added to the deep English blend. Rarely have I seen an English age this well with relatively little time. Bravo, Mr. Pease!

Cobblestone - Chess Rook 1.75oz
Nice German flake
Upon opening the tin I was greeted by a subtle sweetness and malty/bready tin note. The moisture content is good but still needed a little dry time. The Virginias are mahogany to medium brown. I found the flake to have a natural sweetness and as I got to the middle of the bowl there was a spiciness mostly in the retrohale that made me think of perique. I think that this flake will age beautifully and recommend getting two tins. One to test and one to rest.

Seattle Pipe Club - Plum Pudding Special Reserve Flake 2oz
So many reviews before available?
I'm a big fan of Special Reserve and having it available in 2oz thus cheaper, awesome! What I found strange is I placed my order as soon as it could be done, but there were many reviews before they could have had the product and that was the only review or anything on that profile. Strange? Does anyone know why? Just curious.

G. L. Pease - Cairo 2oz
It grew on me.
I am a fan of Mr. Pease's work, but at first Cairo was just a little bla. However, after letting it breathe for a day or two I found myself reaching for it more. The sweetness of the Virginia and the spicy floral of the Orientals is nice and the Perique adds depth and a little strength. Great all day smoke!

Dan Tobacco - Salty Dogs 50g
C&D take notes, this is a Plug.
This is a great example of a Navy Plug. The flavor of the Virginia and Perique have melded quite well with the rum adding a subtle sweetness. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star was the price. If you want to try a real Navy Plug I would recommend you try it at least once. Peterson 3ps is a good & cheaper.

AJ Fernandez - New World Oscuro Toro
An A. J. Fernandez masterpiece
"Poor man's" Pardon! Great price nice long smoke with nice transitions a dessert stick for sure.

Caldwell Cigar Company - Blind Man's Bluff Toro
great smoke!
This is one of my favorite cigars of all time. It has notes of caramel, baking spices with a nice leather and earth. Spicy but smooth retrohale. Give it a try!

Sir Walter Raleigh - Regular 1.5oz
This was my gateway to pipes
When I first started smoking a pipe it was Sir Walter and a cob. I now smoke Sammy G, Escudo, G.L. Pease, ect. However good old Sir Walter has never left my rotation. It is beautiful in it's simplicity. I love it most out of my fountain style old German clay!

Mac Baren - HH Pure Virginia 1.75oz
Straight Virginia convert
I, like many other pipe smokers love variety, but never really got straight Virginia's. I bought this blend on a whim and holy cow! I had a beautiful epiphany. First, when I opened the tin it had a nice malty fermented aroma. The tin came with about a year of age and that was nice. The start of the bowl was a mild sweetness with the typical hay/grassyness this was followed by a delicious fresh baked bread with nuances of forest floor (tastes better than it sounds). The final third of the bowl is where the strength amps up a bit, but does not overpower and the blend stays smooth with no bite and a fine white ash. I can't wait to see how this will age. HH Pure Virginia flake turned me on to the world of Virginias. I am converted!

Cornell & Diehl - Golden Days of Yore 2oz
No Gloop!
I'm not an aromatic smoker for the most part but I find myself enjoying this.blend. The topping is not sticky like many other aros and this really cuts back on the chance of bite, & lets the tobaccos shine. However I would sip this slowly because I have found it to burn hot. Overall a good blend but I probably won't buy again.

Presbyterian - Presbyterian 50g
A little time to breathe
I agree with Scott S. I have some in the cellar ageing so I ordered a tin to try. At first I was not impressed, just a mediocre English. However just having the open for a week brought out amazing flavors of sweet & spicy wood, hints of smokey leather, and a floral/inscense. Great with a morning cup of coffee.

Cornell & Diehl - Haunted Bookshop 2oz
Second chances
I bought 2oz of bulk in January and I didn't really enjoy it. I thought it was a bit harsh and had a bitter aftertaste. So I cellared it and packed a bowl with my morning coffee today and was pleasantly surprised with a malty, light earth, a pepper spice that didn't overwhelm. The blend had mellowed some, so if you find a blend that you're not crazy about give it some time and a second chance.

Peterson - Standard Mixture 50g
The English Standard!
The components of the blend are very well balanced. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to try an English for the first time. The slight sweetness of the Virginias beautifully complements the spicy, tang of the Orientals and the smokey, incense like Latakia. One of my favorites, but still have my fingers crossed for London Mixture re-release!

Cornell & Diehl - Orion's Arrow
The hunt for a unique VaPer is over.
Fresh the blend is good but can be a little harsh or have a sharpness. If you give it about 5-6 months the spicy, floral, earthy and rich smoke smooths out with a nice anytime smoke feel! I'm surprised that more YTPC people have missed this one!

Cornell & Diehl - Sun Bear 2oz
The amazing tin note of Fig Newtons!
The tin note makes my mouth water. The honey & elderflower sweetness balance the spice of the orientals. The Virginias give me both sweet hay and fresh baked goods. I love Pease's Embarcadero and Sun Bear is a more sophisticated version. So for those of us that can't smoke Sun Bear as often as we would like, I think Embarcadero will help scratch the itch.🌞🐻💘

Balkan Sobranie - Balkan Sobranie 50g
Now you see it now you don't!
I gave it a star because I think that it is probably a good blend, but it's always gone instantly. I get my email notification go straight there to order & poof gone!🙄 Many other blends have the same problem. I guess I'll just keep trying but it very frustrating for those of us who haven't gotten to try these blends.

F & K - Lancer Ready Rubbed
Keeps getting better
I bought 4oz and smoked a bowl right away and it was good. Not an overcomplicated blend but the components work together nicely. Now at about a year and a half of age it has become one of my favorites. Smooth, creamy, smoky, sweet wirh just the right amout of insence/spice.

Missouri Meerschaum - American Patriot 1.5oz
Tasty & Portable
It came ready to smoke right out of the pouch. I really like that I can stuff a pouch in my pocket and go, & it's a great summertime English with a top note that doesn't overwhelmed the tobacco. Nice to have a pouch that tastes like a tin. I will be getting more!!

Warped - The Red Hunt 2oz
Great for ageing!
Ordered when it was first released, and got one to test and one to rest. The top note is delicious without overshadowing the tobacco. No bite & I like to push blends. Definitely earned a spot in my rotation!

Peter Heinrichs - Curly Block 275g
Great for ageing!
I cut off about a quarter of the block and it is a BLOCK! Stored the rest to age. Tastes similar to Dunhill Navy Rolls. Awesome

You Can Now Date Your Gawith Tobaccos
- ► Thanks so much for figuring out the dating system of Samuel Gawith & G&H. They are in my top 3 blenders and well represented in my cellar, I know people give C&D some undesevered hate but C&D's date system needs to be universaly used!
A Comprehensive Guide to Aging and Cellaring Pipe Tobaccos- ► I've only been smoking a pipe for about four to five years now, and I started cellaring early. This was because unlike many of the old timers I was lucky enough to have access to YouTube and the great folks of the YTPC. Also, the help and guidance from articles like this from smokingpipes.com. P.S. Maybe you guys could post videos on here just like the articles.
