Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Morning Flake 2oz
Whoa!
Just popped a 5 year old tin that looked like it was going to explode... Simply amazing! The tin smelled amazing, super flavorful, and burned nice and cool! So happy I sat on 5 tins of this. Cheers!

Warped - Scarecrow 2oz
Loved it!
This is perfect for the fall. It is not the same as sleepy hollow but, they are in the same family... well crafted, delicious, and perfect for halloween! Also, a good cross over as the natural flavors of the baccy used comes through beautifully! Cheers!

Balkan Sasieni - Balkan Sasieni 50g
Underrated
I would say this blend is underrated but, its always high in sales. So, maybe it just isn't talked about a lot? Any way, if I only had this to smoke for the rest of my life I would be happy. For an english lover this hits ever note and excels at it in every way. I think it's availability and price point make people think its some budget blend but, I can tell you it is one if the best! In my opinion, it is the staple of what an english should be. It is heavier than squadron leader but, lighter than nightcap. The sweet spot! I absolutely love this blend.Cheers!

Seattle Pipe Club - Plum Pudding 2oz
Top 5
This was the first tobacco I smoked and said "whoa!". It is in my top 5 and for good reason. Complex, delicious, behaves well, and readily available. It doesn't get better than this. I actually prefer this over the reserve. Also, bengal slices is a very close match so if you wanna mix it up a little, that blend is just as good! Cheers!

Presbyterian - Presbyterian 50g
Very Good!
This is a light english which, to me is not my favorite. I like the lat bombs and always feel like something is missing in the lighter blends *cough* *cough* squadron leader *cough*. That being said, I enjoyed this blend and although its a lighter english, I enjoyed the quality, complexity, and flavor of it. If you like a lighter english, you can't go wrong with this. Cheers!

Peterson - Elizabethan Mixture 50g
A little bit of a let down
Another blend I don't get the hype about. It's okay but, not the gem I was told it would be. So many greats out there in this family. This falls to the bottom of my list. Unfortunately, I found it flat and boring. Cheers!

Hearth & Home - Magnum Opus 1.75oz
It's okay
So many blends just fall in the middle of their tobacco families and that's what this does. Thank the lord nightcap is back b/c nothing comes close to it. There is no match or replacement as I was told this would be. Although, this is clearly quality, there is just better out there that hit all the right notes! Cheers!

Hearth & Home - Black House 1.75oz
I dont get it
My palate is not refined so take this with a grain of salt. It this falls in the middle of this family of tobaccos. I struggled getting through the tin and found myself just trying to get my bowl over with, bored, wishing it was something else. Russ is amazing and has other blends in my top ten like bengal slices. This is just okay as there are others out there that are amazing. I wish I new why others hold it in such high regard. Quality tobacco but, not my favorite my any stretch. Cheers!

Brebbia - Latakia Flake 50g
Underrated
This is a gem and I love it. Super underrated and I don't know why. Creamy and absolutely delicious. It's better than most in the family. Always in my rotation. Cheers!

Brebbia - Balkan 50g
It gets lost in the family
I have smoked so many balkan blends most of them all start tasting the same. It is a nice smoke but, nothing really stands out that would put it in my top 10. Still quality and nice to have in the cellar but, I won't be reaching for it any time soon as there are others that are flat out amazing *cough* *cough* sasieni *cough* that are asily available and way better! Cheers!

Warped - Cloud Hopper 2oz
Amazing!
This was an unexpected pleasure. I thought I would like it but, I didn't think I would love it as much as I do. This is in my top 10 now amongst unicorns! The cigar leaf somehow melds together with the vi/per in a perfect balance. Smooth and creamy. It doesn't overpower. It just just rides along complimenting every puff. I freaking love it. This will ALWAYS be in my rotation. Now I have to get the rest of warped's although I don't think I will like it as much as this nor is the War Department when I add the rest of the line to my ever growing cellar. Cheers!

Cornell & Diehl - Sun Bear 2oz
This is Fantastic!
I am an english guy who dabbles with Vi/pers. However, I always buy the small batch stuff no matter what it is because they are so dang good. I missed this one last year. though. However, the wait was worth it because this is the most enjoyable smoke I have had in a long time. The summers in Arizona are the worst and the englishes in this heat, do not go well together. Sun Bear does though! It is a light but, flavorful blend. The kind that just makes you smile and after the first puff you know you are in good hands. Put 3 in the cellar and popped one tin right away. Dried a bowls worth for about an hour, although I dont think that necessary, and smoked away. It was wonderful. Mostly I got a nice virginia on the figgy side with some sweetness from the honey. A little floral booziness comes out at the end but, very faint. Again, light but flavorful. I absolutely love it! Cheers!

Kramer's - Father Dempsey
Its not you, its me
This sounds like it would be in my top 5! with all the reviews, i pulled the trigger and picked up 5 tins. It fell SUPER flat. I couldnt get any flavor from it. I dont have a refined palette and sometimes i wonder if i even have a palette :) but, i love night cap, odyssey, 965, quiet nights, westminster, gaslight, and ten russians so, i thought this would fit right in. Unfortunately, it just fell flat. I dont know what im missing on this one. I jarred the tin i popped and ill revisit it in a year or two. its not you, its me farther dempsey. cheers!

Cornell & Diehl - Autumn Evening 2oz
Seasonal Goodness
I am not an aro guy but, I do enjoy a couple bowls of this in the fall when the leaves start to change and the air gets crisp. This and some sleepy hollow are definitely tradition and are perfect around halloween. Glad it is around even though I only get/need a tin every two years or so. Cheers!

Peterson - Nightcap 50g
Ugh
Ugh, I hate saying it... It's easily in my top 5 favorite tobacco of all time. If I only had this to smoke for the rest of my life, I would die a happy man. Bit, don't buy any of it because YOU will probably hate it. I'll bear the burden of trying to buy and smoke it all so you guys dont have to. No need to thank me. Just move right along. I heard 10 Russians is a close match! Cheers!!!

Tampers & Tools - Laguiole Calumet Pipe Tool Briar (with Leather Bag)
Amazing
This is easily the best pipe tool i will ever own! Fully functional, well made, and absolutely beautiful! People keep saying the blade should be sharper. It's not a knife blade it is a scraper used to scrape out your bowl when you are finished and it exceeds at that! if it was any sharper it would ruin your cake or worse, your briar! Laguiole makes AMAZING knives if you want something sharp. As far as a pipe tools goes, there is nothing better. I absolutely love this thing and i am amazed with it every time i use it! Cheers!

Peterson - My Mixture 965 50g
Same as the old
This is delicious!!! I am so happy to see these back. These are all the exact same as the old dunhills and are wonderful additions to your rotations and/or cellars. For those of you who keep saying the old dunhills are richer, smoother, stronger, creamier, or any other adjective to describe how much better they are then the new petersons, just remember these tobaccos are green. They have zero age on them. They are newborns. Give them time. Cheers!
