Ashton - Rainy Day 50g
Beach BBQ Time!
I normally smoke English/Balkan blends, but during the summer months, I prefer Virginia blends. This blend has a wonderful tin note that makes me think of Hawaiian BBQ. Boozy and fruity but still tastes like tobacco. I let mine dry for ~30min and had no lighting issues. Burns nice and the flavor in the smoke stays. My new go-to summer blend.
Rattray's - Exotic Passion 100g
Not What I Expected, But Nice
I normally smoke English/Balkan blends, but during the summer months, I prefer Virginia blends. This summer I bought two âcitrusâ aromatics for comparison, Ashton Rainy Day and Rattrayâs Exotic. They are both wonderful! A main difference I see is that Rattrayâs has a Tea/Floral/Perfume note to it that some might not like ( I do ). By comparison, Ashtonâs has a deep alcohol note (rum, whiskey etc.) Iâm so glad I got both as they both have their own niche to fill. If youâre looking for a good aromatic for summer that still tastes like tobacco, you canât go wrong with either.

Aromatic First
Nice blend. Falls on the aromatic side. If you smoke mainly aromatics and are looking to venture out, this one's a winner. If you smoke mainly english/balkans , this one might not be for you.

Stout and Smooth
Like a good beer. Not light and wispy but not thick and heavy either. Perfect for any occasion.

Close Enough
I prefer the 70s version of B.S. and I feel like this one is pretty spot on. Not my favorite, but one of the best!

Cornell & Diehl - Engine #382
Grew on Me
I spent the majority with this one trying to figure out exactly what it smelled like. I came up with somewhere between "fresh field" and "old jacket". If a bright Virginia is the hay barn, then this is the field outside. After some time with it, it's now one of my favorites.

Bright and Clean
Nice bright clean Va. Didn't get much citrus, but a very nice bready note. Will definitely be getting more!

Chemical
I've smoked aeros for most of my time with the pipe and never understood why some people say they have a chemical taste. It may be just my tastebuds, but this one gave me the chemical funk.
