Favorite Everyday Smoke
EGR is what I keep in my pouch at all times. It is like comfort food. Is it really merely a ‘drug store brand?’ Sure doesn’t act like one. The cut is generous. The texture rich and interesting. Though I have smoked what we might call ‘premium tobaccos’ for at least thirty years, in the last month or two, I’ve made a study of the historical OTCs, or American drugstore brands - Granger, Sir Walter Raleigh, Prince Albert, Carter Hall, etc. It is fun to smoke what our granddads smoked. It is also worth expanding one’s cellar and smoking experience. Well, EGR is the least like OTC. It is just such an interesting mixture. Lots of folks here and other review places either love or hate EGR. I love it. While it is an aromatic, it is a subtle one. Very light. I have four or five canisters, and will continue to stock up on it. So, l would encourage anyone not to be put of by EGR’s OTC and aromatic designation and give it a try. You might just be surprised.
