Balkan Sasieni - Balkan Sasieni 50g
Maltese Falconesque
Balkans simply don't seem to be for everyone, but trust me this is a quality journey through a symphony of notes - IF you know what you're doing with your pipe and tobacco. The accumulated humidity can ruin the second half of the bowl so drying is a must before smoking. Did I mentioned to me it tastes a lot like Maltese Falcon, which I also love?

More than just the spice
I've liked Maltese Falcon since the beginning. There's something immediately appealing from the first light that only changes into a number of complex and surprising subtle notes. I had a bowl the other day and I was like... wow, have I even had this blend before. Give it time, let it dry and smoke it slow and cool. It can be a bit finicky and the flavors lose some subtlety in the second half, but man is it good.

Oooh, I get it now!
This, along with Dunhill Nightcap, was my first English blend and it took me a while to appreciate, but once it clicked I've not been able to find something quite like it. That discreet, mysterious yet deep spice that's hinted at at on the tin would haunt my taste memory all day and make me want to return to it. I've not had the same first light sensation with any tobacco since. HOWEVER, I did find it to be a tad finicky getting and keep lit optimally. Not all bowls were consistently good (as I said, first light and first half of bowl seemed the best) and it seemed to have lost almost all taste once it got past a certain age. Still, it was one of my first tobacco and I think if I handle the next batch better my experience will be even more consistently great! :):):):) Thanks MuttonChop for the recommendation!
