F & K - Merde de Cheval 1.5oz
Pretty good Shit
A tin of this was gifted to me by a friend who always tells me I'm full of horse shit. Fair enough, but it is a shockingly good English blend. very well balanced, the latakia and orientals play very well with the VaPer and Burley. I was dually impressed they were able to blend the hay in very well and there was no clumping of the manure. well worth the price of a tin!

Cornell & Diehl - Epiphany 2oz
Gift from a Friend
Overall not a bad blend at all. I'm not a fan of Virginias and this seems to be the most noticeable component for me. I can see how others enjoy this.

Peterson - 3 P's Peterson's Perfect Plug 50g
well.... I've had worse!
I really hate giving unflattering reviews. The tin note on this was utterly amazing. You could really smell the Burley. The smoke however was like a bad cigarette. I've cut it in different ways, cube, ribbon, flake, shag, crumble... dried it, smoked it damp... nothing improves it for me. Maybe I could try it as chewing tobacco.....

G. L. Pease - Meridian 2oz
Leaving for a revisit
wasn't impressed with this. That being said, I rather despise Virginias.

G. L. Pease - Gaslight 2oz
I was nervous
A friend of mine mentioned that he didn't care for this because it was "real strong." We both like other GLP plugs so I was nervous. I find that it was all for naught, as it's one of my favorites from Pease. FANTASTIC STUFF.

G. L. Pease - Spark Plug 2oz
Smells like a viking funeral
the tin note is powerful. the smoke is creamy and smooth. The orientals come through in this blend and in my opinion, make the sparkle in the show.

Tampers & Tools - Tobacco Pipe Wind Cap
Got you covered like a Jimmy Hat
Great, nearly flush mount, wind cap. fantastic and great price.

Stands & Pouches - Economy Folding Pipe Stand
Cheap
Cheap and works a treat. Can't beat this with a stick for value and function.

Savinelli - Brunello Flake 100g
If you like Virginias
This is probably your speed. For me I found it had amazing amounts of bite. I wasn't able to finish the bowl. A friend told me if you rub this out, and let it dry for a bit it is better on the bite.

Sir Walter Raleigh - Regular 1.5oz
Not bad
but not good. I found the cut to be odd and crumbly. The top note was distracting for me. I've smokes far worse tobaccos, but I don't plan to revisit this one.

Sutliff - J4 - Burley
Absolute Nuts
This is the best straight Burley I've had. Nice cool smoke, and great nutty flavor on the palate. Worked fantastically well in my Churchwarden and also my Pete 03 Spigot.

Sutliff - B36 Summer Night
Good
The tin note is more powerful than the smoke. However, there is plenty of flavor there a well. Fantastically smooth and mild.

Sutliff - Duke Albert
The Duke is better than the Prince
Great match, except I find it more appealing. Higher quality Tobacco than Prince Albert

Sutliff - B20 - Black Cavendish
Fine Example
No bells, No whistles, No excuses. This is straight up Black Cav and not ashamed to be exactly that. Don't pretend to be a corvette, this is a nice laid back stroll. Not overly sweet, nor goopy. Good stuff.

Samuel Gawith - Squadron Leader 50g
Dogfighting Champion
I cracked this tin, and was hit with Islay Scotch aroma. This is maybe one of the best middle of the road strength english blends I've ever smoked. I'm not sure why it took me so long to try it. First tin, I had 6 bowls of it over the course of the day. Fantastic stuff.

Samuel Gawith - Sam's Flake 50g
Shocking, and delicious
I was expecting a very mild, uneventful smoke here. It is a very smooth and enjoyable smoke. Great slow burning flake with fantastic flavor. The tonquin is very nicely applied and only compliments the tobacco flavor.

Sutliff - 706 - Tropical Sunset
not getting the mango
pleasant enough smoke. As noted, missing the mango.... but I've enjoyed it so far regardless.

Sutliff - 212 - Burley Delight
Delightful it is!
a friend threw this down on the table at our last pipe meeting. Never considered it anything worth trying. solid as a rock!

James J. Fox - Bankers 50g
Shared with a Friend
At a club meeting and sampled this. It's not bad at all, but i'm not sure if it was the company I was keeping, or the Tobacco itself. Either way, I wasn't disappointed.

Sutliff - Match 20
Spot on!
This filled the spot for me when dunhill was gone from the shelves. Not sure it's 100% the same as Dunhill, but it doesn't need to be, because it's a damn good english on it's own.

Peterson - Nightcap 50g
even the room note cuts the mustard
Unabashedly English Blend. If it's a G&T sort of day, or a particularly smokey Islay Scotch sorta day, then this will pair well with it. Relaxing, and will cut through just about anything. VERY WELL Balanced.

Samuel Gawith - Cabbie's Mixture 50g
Truly enjoyable
This is as close to an all day smoke I could ever imagine. Surely worth a run!

Peterson - Connoisseur's Choice 50g
Good all round
Don't get me wrong, it's a very well balanced aromatic. Just got bored of it after a bowl or two.

Sutliff - D64 Queen Anne's Revenge
Wasn't Sure What To Expect
The description intrigued me, and I'm always on the hunt for something that my wife will "approve" of the room note. This seemed to fit the bill. I can say with confidence, it's a very pleasant room note and a very pleasant smoke. Not anything other than what it says it is, and in that, done VERY well. If you don't like flavored aromatics, this will not likely be something you're interested in. However, if you need a room pleaser... this will not disappoint.

Sutliff - Match 20
bout as spot on as you can get
good stuff, everything you love about 965 except the price.

Samuel Gawith - Fire Dance Flake 50g
Best Brown, but improved... if that's possible
I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into with this. Cracked the tin, the note was amazing. My friend said his mouth started watering. The smoke is no less significant. They balanced all the components perfectly and this could become an all day smoker quite easily.

Cornell & Diehl - Berry Good
Not "berry good"
Tin note is powerful.... room note.... not so much, no trace of berry in the smoke at all. burns very cool, and stays lit very well. Sad news is I purchased 4oz of the stuff before I tried it, now I've gotta find some poor sucker who will trade me something smokeable for it. Don't waste your money if you're looking for anything that the name suggests.

Cornell & Diehl - Green River Vanilla
Green River "Vanilla"
The Vanilla seems to be more in the room and tin note. Not getting much distinguishable vanilla in the flavor. Plenty of flavor, but not so much Vanilla flavor. Tobacco was rather wet even for a dark Cavendish base. I'll keep at it and revisit this review later. Never improved, and I either gave it away, or tossed it in the can with the other rubbish. Highly unimpressed.

Sutliff - Black Raspberry
not over done
The pouch note is very nice on this tobacco. I have smoked several of Sutliff's fruity blends and I must say this one is very well understated. This could have gone in a much different direction, but it does Black Raspberry very well, and allows the under lying tobaccos to come through easily. You could easily expect this to be something reminiscent of what IHOP would offer to top pancakes, but it wasn't. I enjoyed it very much.

Sutliff - 150 Mark Twain
nice
Tried a friends selection of this while sitting on the patio one night. I was truly, shocked at how much I liked it. Normally, when I see a name drop like "Mark Twain" I am seeing an idea being sold and not particularly a quality all together. I've never been upset with a sutliff tobacco, and this is also far from offending me, or the wife.

Sutliff - SPS-2011 Peach Cobbler
If you like Peach, but not to death.
A well balanced peach that doesn't kill you or your pipe. I get lots of compliments about the "room note" this gives. Flavor stays for the whole bowl for me, and doesn't smoke wet. Regular in the rotation.

Sutliff - 1M
Well Done
Fantastically well balanced aromatic. Good to have around for those who are looking for a mellow slow smoke. Ages nicely as well.

Sutliff - Frosty Mint
not just for parties anymore
I'm going to admit it.... I got it as a joke... to try something so far out of the bag..... it even tainted the bag of tobacco it was shipped with. But honestly, It improved what would have otherwise been something I didn't prefer. Mint for days, works great with adding a tiny bit to any bowl of aromatic for a change. I would suspect it will "ghost" any bowl it is smoked in. Don't expect anything other than what it says it is. Mike Tyson is going to punch you in the face with glorious mintyness.

Sutliff - SPS-2003 Strawberry Delight
full 5 stars for being exactly what it says it is
strawberry out of your face. if you don't like the idea of smoking something more akin to hookah aroma than a virginia, then this won't be your speed at all. Not an every day smoker for me by any means, but great fun to smoke.

Planta - Anno MMVI (Sweet Pear Mixture)
Echo what others are saying
This was a gift from a friend. I would like to give it more time to see if it grows on me more. Nothing bad about it at all. Nice thing to change the pace a little.

Planta - Anno MMXIV (Fruity and Fragrant)
Name says it all
Smoking this straight and you'll get what others have described as potpourri. Not saying that is a bad thing, but it's surely something different. I didn't find that fact off putting as I knew it would be exactly as I expected. Works well in a blend with some straight cavendish if you're wanting a little spin from the usual.

Sutliff - 507C Virginia Slices
unabashed
I bought this in order to try a straight Virginia. Not my speed of Tobacco, but clearly a good example of Virginia is. Nothing off putting and nothing bad about it at all.

Peter Stokkebye - PS403 Luxury Bullseye Flake
not sure what i was expecting
I bought this on a whim when it was on sale. Not sure what I was expecting, but I can't say I was steered either way on initial smoke. Nothing particular stands out. Got it locked away and will revisit in a few months.

Peterson - University Flake 50g
found it lacking
don't get me wrong, it's not bad at all... but I was attracted by the description and let down by the smoke. Found it unremarkable really.

Samuel Gawith - Chocolate Flake 50g
Holy smokey Chocolate!
You sly little devils have done it again! I would have NEVER imagined I would have enjoyed a chocolate with latikia but this, wow... amazing

Savinelli - Black Cavendish 50g
Nice,
Advertised as a Black Cavendish, but it's a Black Cavendish blend. Somewhat disappointing if that's what you're expecting, but still a VERY enjoyable and pleasant smoke.

Mac Baren - Cherry Ambrosia 3.5oz
Color me shocked!
Not sure what I was expecting when I purchased this other than the usual "cherry aromatic" but wow, this is NOT your typical Cherry Aromatic. Fantastic light, smooth smoke, the Virginia really lightens this up. Not sugary like many other Cherry cavendish blends.

Lane Limited - 1-Q
Good for what it is
I would have to say, it doesn't pretend to be anything at all. about as uncharacteristically "golden cavendish" as you can imagine. I didn't find it as any sort of standout, and IMHO it won't be worth a revisit. Just not my speed.

Cornell & Diehl - Black Cavendish
Nice all round
I purchased this with 3 other nonblend Black Cavendish offered by other makers. This comes in a strong second for me. Nothing over stated, and also nothing special. Mot people would never smoke BC straight, but people used to never drink unblended scotch until someone explained to them the finer side of how to taste it. I would say you could enhance this with a blend, but it surely doesn't need to be cut with anything else.

Lane Limited - BCA
Everyone Said Lane BCA
That's the one to beat. I can't seem to agree. It's a good Cavendish, of that there is no argument, but I feel this is better as something to blend with vs smoking straight. Maybe that's something others will find as obvious, but after 20+ years of smoking unblended Black Cavendish straight I can say this one is not one I will return to with out using it in a mix.

Sutliff - Aged Maduro Cavendish
Maybe the best I've ever smoked
I've been a fan of Black Cavendish since I started puffing my pipe over 20 years ago. I have my English blends, and my Syrian leanings from time to time, but I always return to the Black Cavendish I first enjoyed. This for sure is the most well stated rendition I've ever smoked. Nothing over stated, nothing over the top. It's the perfect balance that everyone else is trying to match.

Peter Stokkebye - PS201 Black Cavendish
Top notch straight Black Cavendish
I grabbed all the Straight Black Cavendish that the site offers in order to compare them. This is for sure one of the best pure/straight BC that I've ever had. Not too over powering with topping and smokes mellow and nice till the bottom. Not overly damp and had no issue with relight. If you know how to smoke an aromatic, then this will give you no problems either.
